"Silent Psalms and Demon Songs" For my band, Higher Than the Birds www.myspace.com/higherthanthebirdsThe flowers of life Are dying, dying away and Falling, falling, out of our hands And falling away But life, life, we say Is falling, fading to gray Is not a tense in the verb Of words we choose to obey Not a far sense of spirit Not a far fall away Not a broken choice of options Of a life in decay Not a way, we say, persay, we may Yet, in our dismay Limit intentions and dimensions By the end of the day And we say- It's not enough, It's not okay It's not a choice you made (It's not a choice we made) It's not a silent psalm Or unbelayed Cue fade- The entrailing tales, Repent Unheavensent Fail to resent, repent By Heaven and Hellbent Honor the Judas crescent And solid saviour redempt Unsee secular ascent Descend, and mend them Pay the price of casualty And recollect the travesty, and Tear the child from the womb and see to it, his Majesty to see to it this life is lost and represent the Holocaust of Pentecost, from whence we sought is nevermore, is ever lost From Crusading to Babylon The message, and the hope is gone Is cast astray, and ever-wronged So, undelayed, this Demon-song It rings, in deep, the ears of fate From whence, the oceans seperate From whence, foundations decimate Forevermore, these hands of fate And we say- It's not enough, It's not okay It's not a choice you made (It's not a choice we made) It's not a silent psalm Or unbelayed It's not enough! It's not okay! It's not a choice you made, we made! It's not our fate! (it's not our-) It's not a silent psalm, nor demon-song Whence we hath wronged! It's not a choice that we made! It's not a choice that we made

Hi Nature, Welcome to the board. I'm taking this to be Rap or something akin to it? In that case it would look like it'd probably work fine Wy

its a hard-rock/almost ska song me and a buddy are conjuring, but now that i look over it, i can see why it'd come off that way. Thanks for the input wasn't really sure 'bout these lyrics

I was with Wyman, until I read that this may be "hard-rock/almost ska song". Rap/rock would seem the best musical fit for this lyric. Otherwise I think the lyric would be overrhymed for another genre.

Yeah, Summeoyo , (Hi Summeoyo), put his finger on it--it's the plentiful rhyming that makes it seem like Rap. I don't know much of anything about Ska though. I'll ask Google to enlighten me Wy

Dang, Neo, I had to look up Ska, Now I'll have to look up Doom Metal <G> Actually, I rather like the lyrics, though I have no idea how they'd sing or play and don't know enough to critique them Wy

Wy, don't make me look up Ska too -- can't ya just tell me what it means ; ) lol Nature, checked out your MySpace. Keep it up young one. These lyrics sound like they will fit fine with the style you and your band seem to have. Glad to have you

haha any of the doom metal i know has practically no rhyme, just one overdepressing sentence after another. As for it being almost ska-esque, it's all up in the air, and we haven't set anything more than a tempo now.
