Grouch, this reads a lot better than most commercial attempts at deep, altruistic, or spiritual subjects. Ok "Jesus Take the Wheel" was well done but most are just journalistic.
I am glad you say "hope" I helped that man ...
I might use "faith" rather than "hope" in the bridge to push it a little further. Put hope in mankind, faith in something higher as my great grandma used to say.
