Sat and shook my head at some depressing morning show

Left a drive-thru…pulled up at a long red light downtown
Time was crawlin’ so I cranked some tunes and looked around
Saw the homeless and the needy
Missing posters…gang graffiti
Old man said that for a buck he’d clean my Ford’s windshield
I reached out and handed him my Egg McMuffin meal
I felt blessed to make a living
Hoped I helped that man by giving

very lovely song,and i'd love to hear it when it's demoed...it tells a great story,and it's definitely current and something that all of us see each and every day....it's nice to be reminded that there is a silver lining...thank you for reminding me of that with your words,i tend to forget sometimes,but there is still good news to be heard also......michelle

this reads a lot better than most commercial attempts at deep, altruistic, or spiritual subjects. Ok "Jesus Take the Wheel" was well done but most are just journalistic.

I am glad you say "hope" I helped that man ...

I might use "faith" rather than "hope" in the bridge to push it a little further. Put hope in mankind, faith in something higher as my great grandma used to say.
