I am currently performing as a solo act but am looking for a collaborator or two (in their 20's or early 30's) to start playing out as a duo or trio. I am fairly open to a variety of instruments...guitar, bass, cello, keys, etc., but I'd like for at least one other person to sing harmonies (preferably a female voice). I play guitar and sing. I recently released a 7-song EP...I think most of the songs probably sound somewhere between Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, and Conor Oberst. I think with this project I'd like to move more towards the sound of a band like Margot & the Nuclear So and So's. You can check out my EP here: http://www.matthewsolberg.com/downloads.html My preferred method of contact is email: matthew dot solberg at gmail dot com. Thanks, Matthew

That's age discrimination! Just kidding Matthew.
Funny... years back a major record company was interested in my brother till they found out he was in his 40's. They told him he was too old to start this kind of a career.
If you can't find a young man on the ivories, there's always old geezers like me that like getting out of the house occasionally.
I can't take gigs later than 9PM though. That's my bedtime.
Good luck in finding musicians.
Best, John

Haha, yea, I guess I am being a bit of an ageist here. Don't worry though...it will probably come back to bite me in 10-20 years.
Actually, I should have clarified in my original post that I would "prefer" to collaborate with someone around my age - it wouldn't be essential that someone is around my age - it's just more of a personal preference/comfort zone sort of thing, I guess. I definitely don't want to turn someone away based solely on age - if that someone is very influenced by those artists I mentioned, they would probably be a pretty good fit for this project.
I know you're joking around, but I wanted to clarify.

Yeah, all in fun Matthew. Hope you find the musicians you need. There are plenty around here.

What really brings geezerhood home is seeing the ads on craigslist from people who want to collaborate with "older musicians--in their 20s or 30s."
