I have been working on trying to judge every CD as if it were mine and I wanted a totally fair shot at bending the judges ear. If I see myself becoming OVERLY critical, OR if the VOLUME is starting to color my opinion I stop and come back to the task later.. I DON'T want to NOT finish, and I DON'T want to take FOREVER... is this the best approach? I would LIKE to hear the opinions of other people involved in the judging, on what is a reasonable projection for a date to be finished by, so I can make sure that I am being reasonable as well as thourough. Thanks

You should listen to enough to determine if it moves you. When it DOES, you should flag it and move on... if it isn't moving you, you should move on. Everyone is different in how long it takes to determine if that song or album is going to move you. I can do it fairly quickly, others take a long time. Only you know the answer to it for you. A rule or guideline I would give you may or may not work so we leave it up to you. You know what pushes your own button. Go with that.
