Fred and Fritz Scherz, from the Jagermeister-sponsored, Fritz's Polka Band (FPB) from Verona, NY, met New York State Governor, David Paterson on Tuesday, November 11th in Syracuse, NY. Fred and Fritz presented Governor Paterson with a couple of their band’s CDs, including, "Reflections," which is under consideration for a Grammy Award, and a Fritz’s Polka Band / Jagermeister t-shirt. "My Dad and I were truly honored to meet Governor Paterson, and present him with a couple of our band’s CDs and t-shirt, said Fritz Scherz, band leader of Fritz's Polka Band. "Upon us giving him the CDs, he was very gracious and chatted a bit with us. In fact, he even commented that he thought perhaps the music would help him relax. This meeting wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for Juliet Carhart, Tony Giardina, Delores Caruso, and our good friend of many years, New York State Senator, Joe Griffo. So, we want to publicly thank each of them!" Fritz's Polka Band has been performing for 30 years, and made history in 1999, when they became the first polka band to perform at a Woodstock Festival in Rome, NY. On September 15, 2007, FPB made history again by becoming the first polka band to perform at the Metropolitan Club in New York City. FPB has made 16 recordings. FPB even appears on "The Manchurian Candidate" DVD which was released in July 2004. FPB recently won an Upper State Independent Award in Syracuse, NY, in the International Category. "If one man can do it, any man can do it. It is true. But the real question is, if one man did it, are you willing to do what it takes to do it as well?" –Brian Austin Whitney
