country...
As I Live and Breathe
Hiking up a meadow hillside Sweet Magnolias in my lungs Morning sunlight says there’s more Than just youth to feeling young But as any leaf can whisper Years blow out and years blow in Still it robs the breath within me Thinking of my life as wind
Cos heaven clothes the lily, as I live and breathe Distant stars are numbered, that I can’t conceive What’s beyond my knowing, that’s what I believe That’s what sunrise brings me, as I live and breathe
Choices made and chances taken Walk the edges where I may Liberty’s the breath of living As the hours slip away Time’s a gift that keeps on taking What I’ve lived I can’t take back Being satisfied with breathing Is the worst that I could lack
Cos heaven clothes the lily, as I live and breathe Distant stars are numbered, that I can’t conceive What’s beyond my knowing, that’s what I believe That’s what sunrise brings me, as I live and breathe
Kneeling on a morning hillside Sweet Magnolias on the wind Breath becomes a thankful prayer As my day begins
Cos heaven clothes the lily, as I live and breathe Distant stars are numbered, that I can’t conceive What’s beyond my knowing, that’s what I believe That’s what sunrise brings me, as I live and breathe

G'day Robert, time sure slips by fast, maybe you remember me and then maybe you don't. Anyway,I was about to log out as the hour is getting late and then I saw 'couchgrouch' beside your song's title and I was captivated and just had to looksee again at one of your songs and I am very glad I did. Your song is like a breath of fresh air. I like your bonzer song a lot. best wishes, Ray down under.

Still a poet Robert. Haven't been around these parts for a long time, and glad to see a wordsmith like yourself still around. so what's with the "thats" in the chorus? Your words are all so deliberate...educate me
P.S. went to your soundclick page to hear Tex but found "Ready for a Rose" really liked that one

starts out funny personality then very touching the title is nice, flows perfectly, alot of meaning and sencerity. it might be hard to put to music because i don't know how your personal style is but can't wait to see what it is when you finish the song that's a challenge i couldn't do it it's that meaningful.
one more think i see you have a sense of humor wink that's good.... this might help gosple humor see it's a challeng i bet you can do.

Robert-- This song in wonderful! I especially like the chorus: "Cos heaven clothes the lily, as I live and breathe Distant stars are numbered, that I can’t conceive What’s beyond my knowing, that’s what I believe That’s what sunrise brings me, as I live and breathe" great write!!! Have a great weekend! ~~Kassie~~

G'day Robert, as I said time flies fast. year 2005 was the last time I posted here on JPFolks and I remember you visited some of my early attempts to songwriting. Gee the early ones were dreadful, sorry I digress. Doesn't matter no how that you don't remember, I ain't something special to remember. I like your bonzer song and will drop by again when I can and see your next ones. best wishes, Ray down under.
