This time we got footage... lets look back 18 years ago.

The video forum is such a ghost town you could kidnap someone, film it, put it up there and they would take years to catch you lol... smile So I posted this throwback here. The second link is for a sample of the final song audio. The song has nothing to do with my parents whatsoever smile Recorded on 1/4" 8 track machine. When was the last time you seen "Octopads"? And nice sneakers at the end of video lol...

When you look in my eyes what do you see?
Is it you!
Reflections in the pool, can you see me too?

Did you get what need from school
The writings on the wall, did you see the truth?

Is it all in your head
With all the things that you read

Isn't it time I let you go
We've got our own lives to lead
I feel that It's time I let you know
I could never take after you and live

Is it all in my head
With all the things that you fed
Mother And Father
Mother and Father

When you look in my eyes what do you see?
Is it you!
Reflections in the pool can you see it too.

Is it all in my head
From all that sh.t that you said

Isn't it time I let you go
we've got our own lives to lead
I feel that It's time I let you know
I could never take after you and live
Isn't it time I let you go
we've got our own lives to lead
I feel that It's time that I let you know
I could never take after you and live

Mother And Father
Screamin......

Thanks!
Peace Mike

Another great song. I hear some Beatles, too...also some Pink Floyd and Genesis (especially the very beginning.) Loved the video, too. Great quote about the music business and sneakers!

Hi Moker

That's cool you guys have a morning coffee together and check out music smile

I would LOVE to have you over here, yes we could do what WE want. But this is exactly what I'm always talking about when people talk about "The Music Business"
Selling out? Integrity? and all that stuff. Most of that talk is nonsense but like I always say "You can always do whatever the heck YOU want" just don't expect to paid for it. Keep up the hard work..

Oh yeah - You write 150 songs a year???? That is insane bro. The most I ever did was like 10

One day we'll play smile

Thanks!

Thanks Mark

All those influences are there TOTALLY, the beginning is total Floyd and the ending
is total Genesis. With the backwards screams for the Beatle touch as well as that
chord in the "Is it all in your head section"

Which brings up another GREAT point about past music and today's music.
We already know the best music is in the past, so for those who are interesetd in that sought of thing, here we are combining 3 UNBELIEVABLE GREAT groups.

So if we try to match it which we CAN"T, Why? cause it's alerady been done. We can just imitate it or at best put our own twist on things.
So unless we just want cheap copies of great groups/styles then we have to accept
some new music for what it is. And remember most popular music is geared toward the young.

The sneakers - You would not believe what I have invested in my music I my life.
I walked into a music store just on one day and spent six grand cash!

Anyway, your gonna freak when you hear your song... I really feel it, did from day one. And when that happens "Look Out"

Thanks!

Hey Mike, I heard all of the Gilmour type guitar riffs that people are praising in this song, and don't get me wrong I love them as well.
As you have said, you're not Pink Floyd or the Beatles BUT you have a way of producing a quality reminesent to the likes of Jeff Lynn and Gilmour to bring a product that is easy on the ears. They used to call them "catchy tunes", something that my ears wouldn't mind listening to.
I love your Brooklyn accent dude, come down here sometime and eat some grits with us "Hillbillies" Ben

P.S. The vocal does sound like Gilmour

Enjoyed the video and the mp3. The video was cool watching you beat out the drum part on those electric pads. I am desperate to start adding to percussion to my tunes, I just need to decide if band-in-a-box or something like the alesis performance pad is the way to go. I am not a drummer at all , so the getting an electronic (or acoustic) drum kit is a longer term proposition. I'd probably be more successful with BIAB, but more live stuffs would probably feel more "organic"

Cool stuff. "Nice equipment and bad shoes"

Mike, you're one of the most talented folks I've ever met. I'd just like to be a fly on the wall watching you guys create. smile Amazing.

"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Hi Ben

Thanks! Yes this is one of the many styles and phases we have gotten into in the past. The coolest thing about it is look at all the learning that is going on

We are writing & collaborating, writing lyrics, melodies, arranging, harmonizing.
Learning to Record & Mix, Learning how to Produce, we are playing everything, we are singing.. I broke my back (literally) to pay for this equipment VERY expensive so I learned the value of a dollar & hard work both at the job and in the studio. Just so much absorbing..

And with NO one showing us..Self taught, heavy drive & determination factorin play. It's priceless! I treasure those moments. And I had thousands of them. smile Very special to me.. Especially now!

Yes the NY accent actually, I have never lived in Brooklyn, I just wrote a song about it lol... I would love to hang with Ya'll and eat grits, and do whatever! I'm down!

Thanks!

Hi Kevin

Thanks bro! If i had the dough i would have an electric kit here for sure plus the acoustics, and a massive sample library. I need to get back into the computer end with programming, but I just don't have the dough anymore. I have spent so much money on my music it's not even funny.

I did notice one thing, I had some quick hands back then lol... My friend kept telling me to go for that fast roll, which was tough because of the type of song, and those pads have NO bounce. By the end I wizzing around them, and we were laughing. Not bad for a non-drummer

Not only did I pound the sand out of that Heavy Bag you see hanging back there on a regular bases. I had a speed bag up and used to make that thing fly. Also Had a ball you hit on a rope that flew back and hit you after you hit it...

Hitting a Speed Bag is GREAT for timing and speed & hand eye coordination.

I coudn't even tell you what to use for drums now, samples, loops. What is the latest drum machine. I have been going back to everything live for the past 8 years now.

Thanks!
Peace Mike

Tricia - Thanks sooooo much! It's great to work with others and the guy in the video
with me was my best friend for 30 years so it's extra special.
It's so nice of you to say that, I'm VERY hard on myself for not being good enough and it's nice to hear. Depth of Talent is very important to me. I can't do One thing "unbelievable" so I work very hard to do many things very well.

Mike,

You are an awesome musician! It normally takes 3 or 4 musicians combined to have that much talent. I am always left in awe anytime I see or hear your work. I'd trust you with any musical project I had going, without a second thought. I'm a fan!
