A Certain Flutter
as I live and breathe a shortness of breath everytime you look my way you're the ultimate tease
my approach is awkward at best something about your eyes but flattery isn't the way in and I don't have a lifetime to fulfill this quest
shyly I ask can we be innocent throw away the past become the scent of the first buds of spring hang suspended fresh as a hummingbirds wings a certain flutter never ending
you seem intrigued, somewhat taken poetic license, has a newness to it it's not everyday, a touch of whimsy comes your way, not to be forsaken
still there's this unexplored silence caught in the web of selections depth a moment lives on, in non-compliance till you laugh and say, I'm forever in your debt
shyly I ask can we be innocent throw away the past become the scent of the first buds of spring hang suspended fresh as a hummingbirds wings a certain flutter never ending

Ritt...
I do hope you are doing well now! You aren't allowed to worry us like that anymore.:) Just so ya know. Granted, I found out late..because I have been off the board a couple of weeks due to technical difficulties...lol. Anyway...on to the lyric...
Do you have a melody? Something about it was hard for me to find a rythym in it, but if ya have a melody already in mind...it may just need that for it to click for me. I think ya have some great imagery and I love the sweet sentiment... I think the rhyme scheme is what's throwing me off...just a BREE THANG...lol. AbcA has always thrown my lil' brain for a loop. Would love to hear the melody if ya have one (when ya feel like it of course).
get well hugs to ya!
Bree

Hi Dee Rittster!
Hey, I enjoyed the Listen as much as The Read. Quite Poetic, possibly TOO-Romantic for the Average Guy..(But ya got loads of Ladies all a-Visiting, so Congrats, Amigo, & Heal Up Real Fast!)
Best Wishes to You & Yours, Ol' Stan

Yep, it's a consensus. I like that part, too. Ritt, if you scare of like that again, I'm coming to NY to whup ya. Just kidding. You take care, young man. Love to Joyce, too.
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Hi Ritt, As always this is just a scrumptious and elegant confection. I love it!
I've been away for a while and recently got back on here (check out Topside of the Dirt and Attention Whore) so I don't know what happened, but whatever it was, I'm glad you're better and hope you continue on the path of recovery.
