Seeing as how there have been so many controversial threads these days (that are great for starting arguments). I figured I'd start a thread addressing them (or giving any a chance to start a new one lol). I think the one I'll start with is Ben's "Biased War Coverage thread"

I think it's true there is a media bias against certain perspectives and viewpoint; however, I also feel it is up to the individual to decide for themselves what is worthy worthwhile news and what is not. We have so many choices these days, so it's hard to really look down my nose at the likes of Brokaw and Couric and such. We have web blogs, internet news, radio satellite radio and Television news. On all these different medias we have both major sides represented. Even so there are viewpoints that don't fall on either side that simply slip through the cracks.

One for instance is us here in this community. What attention does the larger media pay to us and our music?? None, they pay attention to the big stars, but somehow we slips right through the cracks. I don't mean to say we are news worthy; however look at our member list (for the type of site this is we get very little notice). We have people with more than the usual amount of fame as members and yet hardly get a notice.

This may sound trivial when there are wars going on in the world and many more important issues: however, I think a lot of the views held here reflect the views of the world and the voting public at large. We (and probably many other organizations) are seen as not being all that important. Though if I did a survey I think I'd find a lot of people who thought if they could do something to better the world they would.

So I guess for my part I say this. We are never going to get the exposure that "real news" gets, but I think through whom we are as an organization (thanks in a very large part to Brian) that we will and do have a voice. So if you desire speak up let us know your opinion! We are ready for it whether it's a popular one or not!

I think JPFolks is a great organization. We do have some folks who are more than a little famous but, to be honest, the only time they ever come here is when they want something. I have seen some of their Famous names in Magazines or other media. They sometimes mention their affiliations. I don't think I have ever seen JPFolks mentioned. I have gone to their websites and there is no mention of it there. At least not in a prominent way.
JMHO. I know Brian is gonna stomp me for that one.

I talked with a JPF Mentor in Tennessee recently and mentioned JPFolks to the person. The person (who shall remain nameless) looked at me kind of blank and finally a light of recognition came into the persons eyes and they said OH! Yeah, Just Plain Folks. I haven't been there in a really long time. Yet they are listed as a mentor.

There are a great many folks here who do some great things but they are only great to our group. The rest of the world doesn't know about it. There are other folks here who have done some great things and the rest of the world knows about it but they don't know about JPFolks.

But you know what.
We are important.
We are important because we are the rest of the world. There are folks that hold my viewpoint, folks that hold Noel's viewpoint, folks that hold Ben's, Brian,s, Joe's, each one of us.
We might be a small group in numbers compared to the world but we are just as diverse and just as complicated as the rest of the world.
We share our views, sometimes with civility and sometimes not.
Just like the rest of the world.
I have had my mind changed on a few things because of reading other people's threads.
We inform, teach, Critique, and share our lives here.
That is a good thing.

My opinion is that we all have opinions!

As far as JPF, it shows its worth where it is most needed - to and among its members. I don't know that it needs to get accolades from afar.

And as far as the occasional off music controversial thread - I think debate is good. Most of time you're not likely to change someone's ideology, but as Bill points out, sometimes you'll open their eyes to a different viewpoint.

Hey Bill

It seems I've started an angry rant of my own. Yes I do agree with you though. Even the big names who are "members" don't really participate the way us lesser knowns do. I mean look at it this way what other site has music awards and song critiques by professional songwriters. Yet is still a very open and friendly community? There may be others, but for me this is home. I don't always get along with my brothers and sisters here. Though there isn't a one of them I don't have love for. We may be dysfunctional, but dang it were family.

I also agree that are opinions and ideas matter. Were not just a bunch of grumpy people complaining, we are a people truly seeking answers. As you mentioned some threads you've read have even changed your mind about certain things. I've experienced this as well (I am certain others here have too).

If anyone else has had their opinions changed by reading a thread here I'd like to hear about it. Post your reply in this thread. My personal experience has been on the music industry as far as the RIAA is concerned. I've realized from what Brian and others of said, that even though the RIAA is a faceless arbitrater. They are also a necessary evil. We do need them to do the job they are doing. We actually need them to do it better, but the fact they are trying to protect the rights of musicians and writers careers makes them a necessity. That has been my epiphany what has been yours?

Hey Steve

Good opinion lol. Seriously though I do agree that it is the family element that makes this place great. We certainly don't need glaring accolades (and that's not what I was looking for). I just think it's the people here who (at least for me) have given me a joy in music again (I was loosing it listening to the radio). I think that is something that should be celebrated. I think the word should get out. Maybe if it did our member base would increase and we would see more great talent breaking through the malaise, but that's just my opinion.

It takes an incredible amount of work to stay on top in this business so I am thinking that is part of the reason we don't hear from some of the "stars" very often.
They just don't have a lot of time to get out of their successful world.
On the other hand JPF has it's own stars,Mike Dunbar,Substudio,Truman,Bob Young,Moker and others that stay in touch quite often.
It depends on what your definition of a star is which could open another discussion.
There are a lot of really great people in JPF that I've come to know and admire because of these boards.
You may not be house hold names but you are stars in my eyes.

One point Bill missed and it should not be taken for granted is that despite our diversity and differences geographical, financial, cultural, political hey even in musical tastes we are all together. We all respect each other will help each other out and are like a family. Yeah we have our little domestic squabbles every now and then and sometimes we call each other names but despite that we will defend and stand by each other.
Why can the world's politicians not join JPF then there would be no starvation or wars. Well maybe that is stretching it but nice thought.
Jerry is correct we have our own stars.
Brian has said on nemerous accasions that there are some quite famous people who are members. That could be true. It would be nice if they would post every now and then. Give us some tips pointers and encouragement.

I don't know Jim
I think most folks here would respect their position and not try to take advantage of it. But, let's face it, human nature will kick in for a few folks and they would make it impossible for the "Star" to be here.

We might actually have a few that post, we just don't know it.
And if I was them I'd probably keep my identity a secret as well.

And yes we do have some Stars. People whom I respect very much for their talent, generosity and wisdom.

You are right. I was surprised when I found out that Ike Turner was a member. Who knows who else is lurking on the boards behind a nom de plum?

Hey Bill you might be on to something

Maybe they are who under psuedonyms... I for one would welcome those who are big names with open arms. I wouldn't ask for autograps or for them to help me pitch a song. Though there are probably some who would not be respectful. At any rate we may never know.

Hey Linda

Naw I wouldn't worry about liscensing, unless of course we plan to record it wink . Wasn't that Sly and the Family Stone? Either way thanks for your participation. Ok next up on the angry rant thread.

Microsoft will they ever produce a ready to go product?

I've read several articles recently in regards to Vista saying Microsoft released it before all the bugs were worked out. I also have seen many articles these days claiming Vista is still badly broken. I harken back to Windows 98 now. It too was broken when it was released. They released a "Second Edition" that adressed many of the problems; however, when they released Windows ME it was said that again they had jumped the gun and released an unfinished product. This was so bad that they had to quickly release XP to fix the problems ME had. It worked, in so much as they had a release that seemed much better (in comparison). Still not 6 months after release it was shown that there were several rather huge security gaps in Windows XP prompting not one, but two quickly released service packs.

Here is where things get interesting. Once Microsoft fixes all the bugs the O/S seems to be just fine. I love my version of XP (MCE 2005). It works quite well and Windows has recently released Service Pack 3 so it should be good for a while. Currently Windows is planning to drop support for XP within the next 3 years. They are pushing people to move towards Vista. Though I think a lot of us would prefer to stay with XP.

My big question is this: is Microsoft ever going to get things right. I am half ready to install Linux on my computers and be done with it. Though I am used to Microsoft so I don't really want to move away from their O/S. What would make me happy is if they continued to support and sell their old products. This hurry up let's move on to the next version is really trying my patience. Some might say that XP has been around quite a while. I agree it is old, but if it works why change things? Why not keep working and developing a better operating system built off the existing one? I think it's greed. I think they want us all to run out and buy the bigger better operating system. I for one will not be fooled. I had to have Vista for my laptop as I didn't want to buy a new copy of XP. Though if I run into any problems with Vista I will probably downgrade.

To bring this rant to an end: I want to know what is your opinion? Is Microsoft the same greedy monopoly they have always been? Or are they doing better or worse? All opinions welcome.
Derek

I've always gone out of my way not to point out famous members or give them more coverage out of context (i.e. when there's not a specific reason to mention them) than necessary. It's not that I don't think it's cool that we have some famous members, but rather unless they are contributing to something or relevent in some way, why wave the banner of using their names?

That said, someday folks here will finally understand that the message boards are NOT our entire membership, nor is it even a majority or a large minority. We have far more people come out in person on a Roadtrip and to chapter meetings for example than we have posting here (and quite often we don't see the regulars here outside of this board with about 50 exceptions). We have a large majority who enter the awards and read the newsletter but have no interest in message boards. Some of the most involved members we've had since the start have either never or barely ever visited these message boards. Message boards are not most people's cups of tea. Some people love them, most hate them or simply don't have time or interest for them. It's not an indication of anything other than we have a collection of folks here, myself included, who like communicating and interacting on a message board. The folks here more often are songwriters rather than performers. Folks doing a lot of gigs and rehearsing for those gigs usually don't have as much time as those who are just writing and doing a little recording, so that crowd will always tend to dominate the boards.

In addition, there's famous people lurking here all the time, they often send me emails about discussions but they don't desire to get involved directly for a lot of reasons. And in a couple of cases, folks you THINK you know here are actually someone else entirely. And perhaps a few of those folks are actually famous musicians who wish to remain just one of the gang rather than be treated differently for who they are. I can remember one very humorous case a couple years back where there was a raging discussion about a famous songwriter on here and one of his songs in particular with people making all sorts of claims that they knew what was intended and what wasn't in the lyric and the person who wrote it was involved in the post and arguing with a couple other members about it all. It was a little like that scene from Annie Hall in the movie theater line (for those who have seen the movie, you'll know what I am referring to) only that person didn't come out from anonymity. In the last week alone 2 different Oscar winners and several Grammy winners (beyond Daniel Ho) were on the site and ironically people barely even took notice. And that's not a bad thing really. It means they'll actually be more likely to come back. I know they like to read the posts and lurk around just like many of the 100's of anonymous people here at any given time.

All that to say, even the few truly famous folks who come to the boards just want to be part of the gang. We're all just plain folks after all. None of us are more or less human or more or less important in that respect. Sure, some have bigger achievements than others. And we certainly respect and welcome folks with successful careers to come hang out and share their stories and wisdom, but I doubt they'll get any warmer welcome than we give everyone else who stops in and is reasonably polite and sincere about joining the community. But folks really need to stop measuring the entire organization based on who posts on the message board. It's simply not an accurate representation nor is it helpful to get frustrated because a mentor or famous member isn't hanging out posting on the message board. Not to mention the truth that just because someone is famous or has won a huge award etc. doesn't mean they actually have the skills to give quality feedback. Usually artists and writers don't also have expert skills to teach/educate others. That's more reason why we should appreciate folks like Harriet Schock all the more.

As far as the Mentor in Nashville who doesn't know who we are, that's quite odd. Perhaps it's someone who used to write articles but isn't currently involved anymore. Right now the active mentors we have in Nashville would include Mike Dunbar, Barbara Cloyd, Danny Arena and Sara Light, Jason Blume, Pete and Pat Luboff and that's about all I can think of in Nashville at this time. If any of those folks indicated they didn't remember who we were it would be very strange since each one has written an article for the newsletter or posted here themselves within the last year. If it is one of the Mentors from another city who happened to be in Nashville, I'd be curious to know who it was. There's about 4-5 Mentors who were involved at the start of JPF who have, for various reasons, stopped being involved due to scheduling or lack of time etc. who are listed there. I am pretty loyal to those who have contributed over the years and don't usually remove them unless they asked me to for some reason (and that has only happened 1 time and it was due to my refusal to endorse a company they worked with on occassion who I felt weren't honest). So I'd be curious to know who that is to figure out why they've had a memory lapse about us or perhaps they're listed somewhere as a mentor and really aren't. I haven't checked the mentor page lately to see who all is on there we've had so many different mentors come through over the years.

Speaking of famous figures who come and go at JPF of late.. I see our self proclaimed resident commie rat bastard has stopped in. How's it going Bob? = )

Let us not forget Chris Young, {Nashville Star winner, and if I'm not mistaken at one time a major contributor on these boards}
Multi-hit writing songwriters like Alan O'Day, and Steve Seskin, and hit recording artists like Walter Eagan {"Magnet and Steel",on which he was joined on harmonies by no less than Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham.} Hardly unknowns! On an unrelated note.... How the hell have you BEEN Bob Young??!! We've missed ya !

Just a point of view... Person to person, I think the small percentage who communicate
day & night 365 days a year here on the boards more than makes up for the number percentage difference in live events and proceedings.

I'd rather know and talk with 500 people all the time then never talk with 20 thousand people. Or see a small group once a year, that would be nice but I wouldn't trade. There is nothing like meeting people in person.. but how many times a day can you do that? a week? a month ? or even a year? not many I bet.
I don't know how Brian does it all, I think he's cloned smile see rally photos lol....

Of course I woudn't know about it much as I haven't been more than a mile away in four years, but If there is a Rally in my town is it only once a year? And won't it basically be the same people who live close to me?
Is the awards one night a year? 300 days of work smile but done ina night or a week?

How could I ever communicate with fellow members from other states cities, Country's, without these boards and the internet, how I could I hear there new songs the same day they write them, how can I help them with lyrics and arrangements and tons of other things, and get help?
Never could do it one night sitting at table in room full a people with live music playing.

I'm dying to get out of period and would kill to be able to attend some live events
I'm even more dangerous live than in the studio lol smile

I greatly respect and admire all aspects of the organization but there is no way I could ever have as many close & working & friendly relationships with so many people for so long doing so much without these boards.

How often do the members who don't use these boards communicate by telephone? everyday & night? Know one ever told me or mentioned JPF by word of mouth in all my years in music and around the industry. The internet guided me here.

To our other 30 thousand members that I don't live by & I'll never know.. HI smile

In Short - It's simple they could come here on The JPF Forum anytime day or night and meet all of us we can't meet them.

Bob- Chris Young was a major contributor on these pages? maybe I was too young to remember lol...

Thanks!
Peace Mike

Hi all,

I'm getting all emotional, I just love JPF.

Over ten years ago, I didn't think my life was worth living, I hit the bottom real hard, and I was in and out of Psychiatric units, off and on for twelve months. I didn't hurt others, I hurt myself, I left reality in a big way. I attempted suicide, I don't even know how many times, and my counselor told me that she will never forget, the day she witnessed me throwing myself at a plate glass window, and she couldn't believe that I never went through the glass. I have no recollection of the event, only just before I lost control.

I have been bullied, pushed, and hurt intentionally, in every possible way, they might of had more money & power than me, as to breaking every law in the book, and being allowed to get away with it, but you know what, they lost, cause I'm still here, and I'm not going to give up.

The tears are rolling down my face, I am touched by all of you, I look forward to daily, chatting with you all, reading your lyrics, listening to your songs, writing, singing, recording my own songs, in which I never thought I could possibly do, but look at me now, hey.

To me, JPF's, you are the greatest, I love each and everyone of use, you are all my heroes, you make me laugh grin , you make me sad frown , and even cry cry .

Thanks

Michele

Gosh, I'm right with you Mike.

With all due respect, Brian to your awards and showcases, the number of hits to the lyric and mp3 boards says something significant and I wonder how many of the other 30,000 people would have found the organization without the posters that come here drawing their attention. (oh yeah HI all you out there ! )

Anyway, I hope to attend a showcase someday too. I'm also out performing live and going to other live acts EVERY week in my own area.

jm :-)

Now that's curious

I said something about someone and find myself having to back peddle now.

I just went and looked for the person I thought was a mentor and the person is not there.
At least I don't recognize the person, I cannot remember his name. Guess he didn't impress me much.
In any case I retract what I said
Sorry bout that.

That's good to hear Bill. I was actually worried there for a minute. I can't really control what people say or do, but it would be really odd for a mentor to forget us.

And I am not sure why people get so defensive when I point out the obvious that most people in the world don't like or use message boards. I mean seriously.. why is that such an afront to people? I am involved with all sorts of organizations and memberships and companies I like and guess what? I don't frequent a message board for any of them. It hardly makes me less interested or attentive to those people and places. But for some, it seems like the only legitimizing factor is if folks post here. If that is true, we only have a few hundred members. Because the top few hundred make 80% of the new posts here. And that would mean I couldn't be involved in anything else in life because this is the only message board I post on.

It's not an attack on folks here to say this is a specific sub group of the overall total. And I wish more folks would use the boards as a way to communicate. I bet our membership rate of posting is pretty similar to most other organizations etc. TAXI has an email list of 150,000+ people and they don't get as much message board traffic as we do with 44K members. And the truth is, if we suddenly had 44K people (or triple the traffic) to this site it would probably not be a positive change. Posts would get buried 3 times faster. There would be 3 times as many inapproriate posts. It would be impossible for the small number of really dedicated folks to keep up with it all. And yes, Chris Young WAS very involved in the message boards. You can't judge someone on the number of posts. Most people are NOT as gregarious as Bob Young or Bob Cushing (two exact poltiical opposites if there ever were any) and are not willing to state their opinions, especially amongst so many passionate and well spoken outgoing Alpha personalities as we have frequenting the site. It's intimidating even to powerful people. I know.. they've told me themselves. I consider Shandy Lawson a very important and active member (though he wouldn't claim to be.. that's not his style). He's been here steadily over the years, comes to every roadtrip show in his area, comes to nearly every music awards (it helps that he's often nominated), donates money, helps us set up showcases and chapter meetings and has popped in the boards consistently throughout the years and was one of the earliest board members as well. But he has a very low number of total posts. I certainly would hate to lose him if he stopped coming and would miss his involvement, even though he'd never pass muster with the message board purists who would say they don't see him around.

Our message boards are like an immediate family situation in a large family. If you live in town with 10 of your relatives, it doesn't mean you aren't realated to the other 1000's of people in your family tree. It doesn't mean your uncle who you only see at holidays because he lives on the other side of the world isn't as related to you as the aunt who lives down the street. It's simply life circumstances. We wish all of our family were here with us, but on the other hand, if all our family members moved into our home in real life, it wouldn't neccessarily be a good thing.

Few if any members have been as important to JPF than Harold Payne. I think he has something like 4 posts here in 10 years. I assure you he knows all about JPF and the benefits of it and would be the first to say what a difference it's made in his life, even though he's one of the most professionally connected people I've ever met in the music industry. Michael Laskow of TAXI has never posted here 1 time, but he's quite aware of what we do and our place in the community. Even Derek Sivers has never posted here. It doesn't make them less important to JPF or the community. And you guys don't see the 400-600 emails I get per day from members who will likely never come here. (I used to get over 1000 a day, but as we've grown people actually email less because they think I am not accessible). It's probably good that they don't all realize how much time I spend here. If they did, I'd never "see" any of you because I'd be spread way too thin.

So.. the boards are very important. So are many others who never come here. Instead of questioning the legitimacy of everyone ELSE who don't choose message boards to be part of their daily communication habits, appreciate that we have a lot of cool people who come here and should you venture out past the boards, there's often more cool people to meet there as well. Just as you wouldn't want ALL your actual family members to hang out in your living room every single day, be glad every single JPF member doesn't hang here every single day either.

Especially the MP3 and Lyric boards. If you think they're fast now imagine your song or lyric not being read or being passed over because of sheer volume. It would be too frustrating and would defeat the purpose of others insights for improvment. Ben

Man, if I was famous and was also posting here on a regular basis there'd be no WAY I'd let my identity be known. I expect it would be nice to have one place I could go and just be a regular joe...

But then, I'm not famous so what do I know? grin

thanks, Brian..when I put in the description of myself, I forgot to add commie rat bastard...I'm getting old!

I'm feeling really good, thanks, guys.
And Big Jim..yes! I did get some plastic surgery..but..I'm surprised the ass-lift is so obvious on a head and shoulders picture!

Diabetes tried to claim my foot again..six weeks in hospital and some great work by my doctors and VIOLA!..me and my foot came home intact...I'm back on stage and feeling great!

JPF is a place where a left wing sissy like me can have good conversations with a gun toting right wing weirdo like Bob Cushing and come away smiling.
Greydog (corky bernard)came to be a dear friend of mine before he passed away..I met him here at JPF and spent many days (and nights) at his home in Nashville laughing and being silly with him and his wife, the SPECTACULAR Bobbie Gallup.
Dawg was farther to the right than Bill Robinson or Bob Cushing or Genghis Khan!
He made John Wayne look like George McGovern...God!...I miss Dawg!
Brian gets nervous when the talk gets overheated here..Brian and I have had numerous angry exchanges over the years..to his credit, no matter how rude I got, he never showed me the door.
He did gently suggest I might be happier somewhere else, but he never tossed me.
I'm past all that nonsense, now..I've learned to use my real voice, not my internet voice.
I think ( I hope) i'VE lost my internet voice altogether.

I hope somebody follows that link to John Fogery I put up...it's really good to see an old fart that still has the fire.

Rock on, kids..

Bob Young

Hey it's no Joe Smith but a pretty common name nonetheless....

When I bought my house I had to sign about ten avidavits - "I am not the Scott Campbell who served time for armed robbery", "I am not the Scott Campbell who has his wages garnished for child support", etc, etc, etc...

Hey Bob, thanks for posting that link to the Fogerty video. "Still has the fire", indeed....

Man, that was something - he had as much energy as he had almost 40 years ago. I wonder what young folks who are not familiar with protest rock from the '60's think when they see something like that....

I know Brian could never favor one aspect of this organization over another.
That would be like loving one of your children more than the other smile

I also want to point out I have no negative opinion of the going on's outside the forum.
Again I could only wish to actually get with some people it would make me extremely happy, then again so would being able to stand up long enough to take a real shower smile

Brian that was an excellent excellent point about "what if all 40K members rushed these boards at once... Yikes!
Please don't tell them anything good or cool is going on here lol....

I think what I learned yet again is "balance" is the key to everything in life.

Thanks!
Peace Mike

Yikes.. that's scary to hear about your foot Bob. As a diabetic myself, I am quite fearful of that happening. It's one reason I try to do as much traveling as I can now while I still have all my limbs. I don't have much feeling in my feet other the burning pain of neuropathy, so hearing your story certainly sends chills down my spine. Glad to hear they kept you on your feet.

I'm sitting here just laughing at all the fun camaraderie going on. I love you guys. Bob Young, I don't think we've met, but you're hysterical. And I'm SO glad you still have your foot. That's gotta be a frightening thing. Brian, I'm glad you still have YOUR feet too. I've known people who lost them. frown Crummy.

And I know the boards aren't the only JPF thing, but I've tried to get some real-time get togethers moving in Seattle and nobody's taking me up on it so far. I'd be glad to have more stuff to go to. smile Anyway.... for the record, if anyone famous hiding here ever introduces themselves to me, I absolutely promise not to squeak and let your identity out. grin Or freak out and send you a thousand private messages. Nope. I respect privacy. So I also promise to treat you like a regular Joe, because you are. We're all human beings, sharing the earth we live on.

I think I'd be the same way about it if I were in those shoes. We're all "just plain folks," and that's why the name of this group is so perfect. But still - if your name is known, and people know you're around, you DO get the dopes that ask for autographs and endorsements and whatnot, and that would get really annoying in a hurry. It's the loss of privacy and anonymity just walking down the street or doing stuff with your family that worries me the most about the possibility of ever being famous, myself. (Not that I have a lot to worry about, but hey, you never know, I might get my 15 minutes somewhere.)

OK... I have to get back to work now... really really... but this is a fun one. Thanks, Derek!

I think if I were to lose a foot, I would probably put it in the grave, just for comedy's sake.

We may be dysfunctional, but dang it we're family.
I like this line the best.

....and yes I do believe there are "famous" people in this community...and no they don't tell us why should they? I'm sure they put their two sense in when they feel its the right thing.

I said I was leaving - then I did - and remembered I wanted to say something to Michele B. Thank you for sharing your life with us... and as for me, I'M very glad you're still here, and doing much better than 10 years ago. Wow. And you're right - they lost. Amen, sister!
I just love JPF too. You guys can make me pretty emotional at times. Thanks for all you do.

If it ever happened to me I would just grow another one.
Cause when I was younger a relative said "youve grown another foot since I saw you last."
P.S. Don't Say anything to Mike Dunbar losing a foot would kill him.

Hi Michele

I too wanted to mention thank you for sharing your struggle. You are loved by us as well. We are so glad you survived and "they" didn't win. Bless you for enduring so much and coming through with the positive attitude you have. We are truly blessed to have you here as a family member, of this wildly dysfunctional family grin

"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Bob, for the record you are my all-time FAVORITE hippycommiepinkowhinyassbleedinghearttreehuggingliberal. Plus you are the SECOND coolest guy I know named Bob on these boards!
On a serious note, take care of yourself{You too Brian!}...My 18 year old stepson is type-A, and it's nothing to screw around with. {You already KNOW that!} BTW, Ted Nugent says hi Bob!{LOL}
P.S.S, John Fogerty, {on top of being one of my all-time greatest inluences} STILL rules! I saw him in concert last year {along with Willie Nelson} and the man just ROCKS! He still looks like, and has the energy onstage of a 30 year old, sounds as great as he did in 68' {his guitar chops are probably BETTER} and his NEW stuff is great too!
