On the Sixth Day ©2007 Corey Parkman
My friend's got a headache pills won't kill And a pickup dashboard full of bills He didn't run up and his paycheck can't pay for Talked to his lawyer just last week He's got a broken paddle up crap creek And he can trace his troubles back to the source
Chorus On the 6th day, God created woman Man took one look and saw that it was good The next day, man had questions But the good Lord, He was restin' So to this day, woman can't be understood
Twenty missed calls on my cell phone I'll join my friend if I don't get home And I best remember to stop off by the store Can of paint to redo the kitchen Female products I don't wanna mention A case of Bud Light and I'll tell you what for
'Cause (Repeat Chorus)
Bridge The good Lord's finest creation Is beauty and frustration That apple ordeal Didn't end the appeal Cause Eve got Adam's heart a racin'
Yeah, on the 6th day, God created woman Man looked and saw that it looked so good All pretty hair and shapely Been known to drive a man crazy But to this day, women can't be understood
On the 6th day, God created woman

Hi Corey,
You got it all figured out there pretty well I'd say. Can't wait to hear this one.
One suggestion though KOS
Man looked and saw SHE looked so good
But, on second thought---the POV of this one probably doesn't warrant a change. I think the singer would say "it". Afterall, his brain's gone south.
Happy new year, Vanessa

Funny, well done, but dangerous, Corey.

So, if your right- that explains a lot.

Corey,
I call my wife my "familiar mystery". I can sometimes see she behaves in certain ways, but don't ask me why. You don't have to understand them to love them. Good thing, too.
Good work here. Keep writing.

Thanks Vanessa. That's a pretty good suggestion actually. I was just using "it" to echo the "and He saw that it was good" verses in Genesis, but your version is a little more female friendly. This song's not supposed to be completely insensitive.

Hey Corey You've hit the nail on the head with this one! Great job summing up the idea and great hook and use of it! I don't know that I would blame Women for everything the way this song implies but I do agree they are sometimes hard to understand. Though then again we probably are as well Blessings Derek

Thanks Lee (I'm not scared, but don't tell my wife ). Thanks Samuel, Skip, Chuck and Derek. Derek, it's meant to be tongue-in-cheek, so hopefully it wouldn't offend women too much, but ya never know. I'm actually writing one now that tries to explain men to women. Corey

Corey,
It comes across as tongue-in-cheek to me and could easily get people talking.
But you must do the male version....please!
Nice job.

Thanks Kristi! Good to hear from another of the female contingent to know this isn't being taken the wrong way. The male version is a little different approach and I'm kinda stuck on it right now, but as soon as I get it done, I'll post it.
Corey
