Hi Folks,
Nothing to report really... just wishing you all a Happy New Year and a safe evening. Be careful.. watch out for Drunk Drivers and don't be one yourself.. it's not worth it on every level.
If I think of something important or worthwhile.. I'll add to this. hahaha.

My Uncle, a jazz trumpet player for a while, and a serious drinker for longer, told me he always stayed in on New Year's Eve.
"Too many amateurs," he said.
I've been following his advice for years.

Thanks Iggy!
I plan to... so far it's a wee bit nippy "lite sweatshirt" weather right now(supposed to dip well below freezing tonight (I know ... nothing like up north, but enough that Texans bundle up) but I think it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow (as it is right now)

Hey folks, I'm off to a gig in Kentucky, so I'll be dodging the drunks for a few hours tonight. Driving like that gets me nervous, but a few shots, a couple of joints, and a six pack should calm me down. I figure, the faster I get home, the safer I'll be, so I'll be sure to drive like hell.

At least this year I'm playing a somewhat upscale venue, although drunken idiocy knows no social class.

One of my scariest New Year's Eves was in Chicago - mid 80's. My wife and I took the el into the city to catch a comedy show. What we didn't know was that they decided to let everyone ride for free to encourage drunks to stay out of their cars. It worked - they were all on the train. Crazy ride, man Happy new year, everyone! Scott

Guess, what? My point about "AMATUER NIGHT" nearly had fatal consequences for me just moments ago...I was driving home from my gig in Westchester Ohio {Brian's brother's neck of the woods}when I was ran off the road {along with several other people} by some idiot driving the wrong way on I-75!!{north in the southbound lanes} I called 911 from my cell phone and the damn thing rang about 30 times before anyone answered. I truly hope I don't pick up the paper tomorrow and find out the idiot killed someone.

HEH HEH
I got a call from my sister in law. She was driving east on I-80 in Indiana. Going from Chicago to Coldwater, MI. There was a Drunk person in front of her Weaving all over the road. She was holding back because she was afraid to try to pass the person. She was trying to call the State Police but was having trouble getting the right number. She never did manage to get through to the police but....
A few minutes after the drunk exited the Highway the State Police pulled my sister in law over for driving to slow, LOL. He thought she looked suspicious.
Did you make it that far north Mike?
Happy New Year
