Welcome, I like it- it kinda made me smile (not sure if that means I am too twisted or what)- but after checking out "A verse to beasts" by Nick Bantok- there is something about the play in the title and the ending that brings a sarcastic grin. Again Welcome, I look forward to more. Anne

I think you describe the same kind of terror that makes the death penalty "cruel and unusual punishment". People who are on death row die hundreds of times before their death. One of the cruelest acts in the justice system is the last minute reprieve. Imagine being prepared for execution when a phone call comes in from the governor. You get a "stay of execution" only to have it carried out the next time around. And what is the difference between the guy who jumps out of a plane and free falls for the thrill of it and the guy who is pushed out in terror? It is just a state of mind. The guy who was pushed out could, if he wanted to, enjoy the thrill of sailing through the atmosphere. The final millisecond before death won't even be felt so what is his problem? I'm kidding of course, but the point is, it is all happening only in the mind- sometimes a frighntening place to live.
