This was on Priscilla's LiveJournal, and I answered it there, but I also thought it would be fun to bring it here, too.....
What is the snake passionate about?
Writing, first and foremost. A love of the written word, and a wildly creative mind.
Friends, and the pure, sweet love that bonds us together through whatever comes our way.
Music, even though I don't play any instrument, I still love to listen to a performance.
Animals, for the unconditional surrender of their spirit to those who give their hearts.
Solidarity, not easily achieved, but so wonderful when I meet that singluar individual.
Soooo, tell us what burns within you....

Well said, Snake and John D:
I don't think I have a single thing to add. Life is good and songwriting is still a rewarding endeavor... regardless of the potential for money or even fame. Most of all... it only takes one hit to launch a musical career.
All my best,
Dave Rice

Passion is a very strong word that is not easily explained. Certainly friends, family, God and country are passions I have that go beyond any words I may write.
That being said I think I have two real driving forces in my life. The first is to make a difference in life. We’re born, we die. What we have done in between says it all. My second passion is creativity. Be it writing songs, playing music, designing marketing materials or simply the way I dress. Creativity plays an important part in everything I do.
I have others, but I think they fall in the category of vices and not passions.

Did you ever meet someone who came to you out of the blue, gave you comfort and help when you really needed it; and as quckly as they appeared, they were gone?
Then later when you thought about what had happened, how you felt so warm and peaceful, you realized you may have been visited by an Angel?
My passion is to remember to look for Angels; and when I am able, to act as an Angel to someone who is looking for Angels.
Happy Holidays!
Rock on!
~C~
BTW- My thoughts above were taken from a book I found and read in my church chapel yesterday titled: ANGELS HEAVEN'S MESSENGERS by Ellyn Sanna
Just one quote of many.
"Few of us may identify a celestial being during our lifetime (although I am sure each one of us has been touched by them). But we can all be angels to one another. We can choose to obey the still small stirring within, the little wisper that says, "Go. Ask. Reach out. Be an answer to someones plea. You have a part to play. Have faith." We can decide to risk that He is indeed there, watching, caring, cherishing us..."
Joan Webster Anderson- WHERE ANGELS WALK
Oh, my immediate passions are my faith in God, to live and follow the teachings of Christ. My music, polishing my songs, and recording them in a studio. Utimately becoming successful.

Like the guy on the bus who handed someone a dollar! Yeah,,, "Angel Bus Rider"!
Or the guy who sold my wife the right windshield wiper for the left side! *which was right!
Yeah,,,,I get it!
Oh,,,,just trying to spread some holiday tide,,,,,I mean cheer! Good tidings too!
My mom's angel took a few minutes off, as she had a passing out episode an hour ago. So I went over and got her back on the job. Even Angels take five now and then. That's when we have to fend for ourselves....Since we don't know when those times will be,,,,we better not rely on them.
Johnny trying to be witty while weally tired. And relieved the 911 call turned out to be OK for my mom.
Merry Christmas! (Hope that fits)

JPF is my passion. Creating a community from scratch. Since I don't have any children, this org. has become my extended family.
Everyone has 2 families. One is the one you are born into. The other is the one you choose to belong to voluntarily. JPF is a volunteer family. I am passionate about creating an environment where people want to become part of our family and my long term passion is to see it wrap itself around the world and back again. It was amazing to be able to travel in Europe and meet people who are part of the extended family in places I've never been before. I felt like I was home everywhere I went.. even with language barriers. Though it financially may never be possible... I'd love to be able to travel to every single country in the world and meet at least 1 JPF member in person. That would be amazing. That would be a passionate life experience don't you think?

Yer tha man Brian!.. Seriously, you came up with a great thing here, and it took great vision and fortitude to pull this off, and continue to do so.. You have my respect and admiration, and it's an honor to be a part of this monster you've created.

Mr. Snake,
I'm passionate about love. It's a gift from God. It IS God, and He is IT. Love makes me cry while watching TV commercials. He makes me forgive insufferable idiots. Love gets me up at 5am to walk the dog and make coffee. He made me turn down some really good music business gigs because they'd have taken me away from the family when the kids were younger. I love Music. Music is Love's laughter and tears.
So I love. Some earthly things I love (in no particular order):
My wife's nighty; my daughter's paintings; my son's baseball cap collection; my upright bass; recording; live performance; Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A., the Earth; Bluegrass; shooting six inch groups in a target 60 feet away with my .38; reloading good target rounds; Traditional Country; long road trips with great guys; my wife's cooking; good arguments; cool microphones; Modern Country; clean jokes; dirty jokes; funny hypocrisy; the Titans; R&B; the Commodores; anyone playing the Yankees; our soldiers; the valor of all soldiers; Jazz; the passion of anti-war folks; the passion of hawks; smart people; the intellectually challenged; crazy people; New Age music; square dances; heck, a million things can make me laugh or bring me to tears...all thanks to LOVE.
And, I love you JPFers.
Have a JPFing Good Time.
Mike
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music
