Just looking for any reaction or any suggestions to improve it I know bar song's are over done and it killed me to use a door and four rhyme but I felt like it needed to be there Do you think I connected the verses to the chorus at all? Thank you and have a good day!
Hell said yeah Lyrics written by Aaron Authier Country - male - mid tempo
Wastin' my weekend down by the pier At a good ol' joint chuggin' down ice cold beer When in walked this crazy eyed fella Sat down next to me an' winked at the bartenda' Said good thing this ain't no church because It's about to get a little rough
Hell said yeah! But heaven said I better stop what I'm thinkin'And rethink it Or I'll never get that golden ticket Well There's only one place I want to spend eternity in And It's on the corner of sin Hell said yeah!
Well I figured man this guy's crazy But I'm drunk and need some entertaining So I bought him a beer uh maybe four When these city boys walked through the door Hour later they were playin' high stakes poker I thought we were seconds away from another civil war
Hell said yeah! But heaven said I better stop what I'm thinkin'And rethink it Or I'll never get that golden ticket Well There's only one place I want to spend eternity in And It's on the corner of sin Hell said yeah!
Well that poker game got rodeo wild And It turns out one of them city slickers Won't be smilin' for a while
Hell said yeah! But heaven said I better stop what I'm thinkin'And rethink it Or I'll never get that golden ticket Well There's only one place I want to spend eternity in And It's on the corner of sin Hell said yeah!

Aaron. I LIKE IT! There will never be too many bar songs for this old cowboy. Door, Four, You should never apologize when it works. Unless you are gonna have these guys come in the window, you pretty much gotta rhyme with Door :-)
Am I correct in my understanding that our hero got this guy drunk just to watch him stir up trouble? That's sinister! Grinning from ear to ear at the thought of it.
Nice job.

Hey Airun
If Kenny got away with it in Coward of the county I am sure you can get away with it here. My favorite line in this whole piece
Well that poker game got rodeo wild And It turns out one of them city slickers Won't be smilin' for a while
Now that's some awesome writing bro. The rest aint nothin to sneeze at either but I could build a whole song off of just this little snippet. Great job it may be a bar song but hey it's a good one! Derek

airun,
"Rodeo Wild." That would be a hook in its own right.Great line. Sounds like a bar to stay out of.
Dropped a lady off at one like that in Watsonville (known during WW II as "Sin City") once. They had a reputation for guys getting too drunk to hit the urinal and people needing to be taken away in ammulances. It was a biker hangout, as I recall. Somebody got killed there the next week, and they were right, nobody was a very good shot in the bathroom either.
Keep writing.

Hey Skip Thanks for reading it too! I wrote a lyric and the hook was rodeo wild and it wasn't very good And I was reading it and wanted to incorporate it in this somehow
I've never been in a real bar (not that i can't) Just not a drinker Them tough city bars are hell though, many bad things go on there Thanks man and take care

Hey, Aaron. The big city bars ain't the problem. You're safe in almost any "club". Just stay away from small town taverns and pubs :-)
I'm a huge Chris LeDeux(RIP)fan, and Rodeo Wild sounds like something he would have written. I'd enjoy seeing your work. Did you post it here?
Again...Love the song! So I bought him a beer uh maybe four HA! That's so great!

Heyy Peter, thanks, always makes me feel good when someone says the like what I wrote, I have re written it so many times (23) But I am happy with this version
I will stay away from the irish pubs they get outta hand and any bar or tavern toby keith is in
I am not familiar with chris ledeux but I will definitely check out his songs, I'm not musically inclined so I don't have any music to any of my lyrics but that will likely change when I demo this sometime in the next century Once again thanks for stopping in and spending the time when you're not in the best of shape I'll be thinkin' of you and your wife
Take care
