Well, it's a sad story. Puter went completely dowm----reboot, reboot, reboot. I had a 3 disc reboot--nope, didn't like that one-Had a 10 disc---OK----
-2 hours jumping throught hoops---still not back on line--nother hour of hoops--back to default basis--lost most everything--worry 'bout that later. Could disappear again at any time, (No cheers from the cheap seats <G>)
Ok---I'm gone a few hours and the thread just runs wild---I'll take care of the first an' worst, then gotta' catch up on other stuff-------
----Bobbelina and Boobelina---Now"there" is a pair-----
---------------------------
Yeah...sometimes mine just hasta break free. Bet you mighta noticed that a time or three. LOL-------------UH-----<G>
----------------- Changed it to present tense to make it feel more tension. --------------Ah yes, Should be much more effective
----------------(I gotta' watch it with all this agreein' ---Don't "feel" right.)
---------------------He prolly deserves it-----WELL, he may be completely innocent----Maybe there were "extenuating circumstances" or something.
There---I'll be back later to catch up and close the thread

Wy

Hey Charlann,

Now THAT sounds scrumptious!! Might just hafta try those...but I wonder WHO is gonna eat 'em?? I sure can't. Wonder if the neighborhood kitties are hungry again? LOL Mudgie is so stuffed with cookies he can't even talk anymore. Sez it's his computer but I think he just can't type an' eat cookies at the same time. Some folks are like that ya know!! grin

Hugs,
Bobbie

Well, lets see---a couple Charlanns to get outa' the way.I don't think that person you mentioned quite said she had to "learn" feistyness, just that sometimes she had to "call it up" from wherever it was lurking. I find even "that" statement to be
straining credulity, (or whatever that word is.)
A guy from 20 years ago huh". Well, as they say "good things come to those who wait.
"Hey Wy - I stayed away for 3 days - I tried to let it go... it's all Bobbie's fault!---------You got that right on whose fault it is all right.
Gosh, after I offered to bribe, uh, offered to help you get to Nashville early, I didn't think you'd have the "heart" to come back on the thread. 'Course, you didn't accept, but it's the "thought" that counts. Then the second part 'uh "that"plan was to see if I could ransom the thread from Bobbelina. I figured maybe she could use a few extra $ after all the moving expenses. Well, on to plan, lessee, prob'ly about G.

"You are learnin' Charlann. Round here, it's ALWAYS Bobbie's fault.----------There ya' go. She done 'fessed up. Must've had an attack of conscience.
"Bad Love Matches"--Yep, should be a song there. Maybe you should take an extended sabbatical from the thread to write all these song ideas you're getting.
Well, a couple posts don't require any comment. Just "bulletin board stuff <G>
Poison Ivy huh?---yeah, that could complicate things like--"Don't "touch" me

Ya see Mudgie...it's the Feist Alliance at work!! Charlann knows where the real feist resides...an' ya hafta bond together ta survive in this world. I am a firm believer (well, as firm as one can be at this advanced age..LOL) in bonding...sorta like the cement that keeps us old folks from completely disintegrating. grin

I got more faults than San Andreas (don't bother writing that one...I already did!! LOL) So I KNOW it's always my fault. At least ya know who ta blame fer stuff!! I make it easy. And no, I didn't zackly hafta LEARN feist...just that occasionally, the well gits a bit low an' I have to prime it a bit. grin An' Bobbelina is immune ta bribery...I think so ennyway. Nobuddy's tried in so long I ain't zackly sure no more. LOL

Hugs,
Bobbie

Only got one ziploc of 'em left outside the freezer. "Then" I'll have to start exercising my self restraint. It depends how many cookies ya' "got", how many ya' can eat. I figgered on msking 'em last at least till past Thanksgiving somewhere. It'll be easier when I start using the ones in the freezer though. It'll be kinda' like guy when his girl friend or significant other or whatever, is outa' town---"Outa' sight, outa' mind"
'Course, if I was to get "more" cookies from somewhere. you know, with the Christmas spirit startin' to take hold an all, "Then I wouldn't hafta' strain my self restraint.----Hmmm, wonder if there's a song there---"She Was Strainin' My Self restraint"

EMMY!!!!!,
My long lost buddy. Where ya' been anyway?
That greeting reminds me of that old show that I guess they called Luige or something like that. They were Italian (I think).
Whenever his friend Horowitz or whover appeared on the show , his greeting went somethin' like this-----------------------------Luveege!!!, Mine vallow bubul, Allo Lveege, Allo, Alloo
And Emmy didn't "say" that about the deserving thing. She's the more peaceful type. Well never having met her, I couldn't say for sure but she "seems" the more peaceful type. Not a TROUBLEMAKER <G>
Good to see you on board Emmy

Well, there's plenty of feist around here. It's like a virus. As long as there's a "main source" ya' can't hardly get rid of it.
"course she didn't SAY that about the deserving thing. We wimmin understand the unwritten stuff too ya know!! ------------------Yeah, well maybe more like you just make up the meaning to suit 'yerself. <G>
"Oooooeeee!! I feel my feist returnin'!-------------I 'spect it's never far away. Like lurking right below the surface. When some unsuspecting soul ventures out on the surface they just collapse into pure feist. So it's best to be on guard at all times <G>
"The poison ivy is clearing up!!! ---------All systems on go .
There, thread's closed again.

ROFL...I just HATE it when yer right Mudgie!! Not that it happens very often...if at all. grin But I did hafta laugh at the thought of some poor man venturing out onto a thin surface an' fallin' directly into a pit o' feist!! Serves him right!! Menfolks SHOULD always be on guard...but, it is fortunate that there is no real defense against feist. No vaccination...no immunity. Maybe we should create an immunity idol like they do on Survivor. 'Cept there's no survivin' with feist!! LOL Ya just hafta give in. Feist IS contagious...but only wimmin kin catch it an' pass it along..sorta like Typhoid Annie or whutever her name was. grin

Of COURSE we just make stuff up ta suit ourselves!! grin Men've been doin' that since the beginnin' of time. 'Bout time we wimmin caught up with ya!! LOL There...put that in yer testosterone pipe 'n smoke it!! <G>

Feisty hugs,
Bobbie

good mornin' gang!

I'm back to school today. Had to take off yesterday to take my son to the doc. He's got bronchitis. They've finally hired a new science teacher, so I've got just 2 more days to teach science & then I can be a reading specialist again! It'll be nice to do my own job for a change!!!

Well, I wouldn't 'zacktly say the puter is "working"---more like I'm managing to get on line. Lost a whole bunch a' stuff. 'Course it's still "there" somewhere. I'm thinking of buying maybe a refurbished one and puttng this one in the shop to see if they can retrive some stuff.
On the Heather song, It should still be here. I'm going to attempt to reload aol, after fofrtification by about 3 cups a' coffee and then see if I can resend it.

Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!,
As far as leagues and upper hands and stuff like that----------------women allus' look at things like that from a prejudiced viewpoint whereas "I", on the other hand, take a more "even handed looka at it and from that viewpoint, I'm just on the upper side of even, (so there<G>)
"""Then he 'spects pity an' cookies an' such!"""" --------------------------Don't need no pity, just cookies <G>
An' puters are even worse than feisty women, (Well, maybe I'd better think on that point some more)
Well, I ran the aol disc and lost everything and after 'bout an hour and a half, I got default back. Gonna go see if I can find a windows 9 SE disc, which is what I really need. I'll be back later to finish up and close the thread

Hey Mudgie-man...

You mebbe got 'nuther hook line there...on the upper side of even. Try it...you might like it. LOL You ain't nevah gonna git the upper hand 'round here. There's just way too much feist for a poor ol' boy ta handle!!

Sorry 'bout that computer though. When they work...they're great...but when they don't...they are the most aggravatin' things on earth. Well, on second thought...close ta the most aggravatin' things...next ta men, that is!! grin Leastways with a computer, there are pros ya kin take 'em to for repairs. With men...tain't no hope 'a fixin' one whut needs fixin'. No rebootin', no repair discs, nothin!!! Ya just hafta grin 'n bear it an' hope fer a miracle...like him seein' the error of his ways!! Which is about as likely as snow in Miami in July. I know I ain't gonna live long 'nuff ta see THAT!! grin

But as long as yer havin' prollems...it is easier fer me ta git ahead of ya here...so you kin just give up hope of ever gettin' that upper hand!! LOL

Hugs,
Bobbie

Brenda, Fancy seeing you here. As far as writin' another one, heck I've got gobs and bunches but ya' see it's like this---I'm tryin' to get loose from the board mostly, so I can pitch stuff I've already got. Got my latest pitch list two days ago and barely got to look at it.. You know who's fault "that" is <G. Course my puter crashin' twice and still just barely gettion' along on default didn't help.
Somebody off board suggested I write a song about Bobbelina----heck, already wrote one but I sure ain't gonna' post "it". Prob'ly cause all kinds a' controversy <G>. Now if I thought posting another song would end "this" thread, I might "do" that but I'm 'fraid I'd just have "two" to contend with
Thanks for coming by though, you being innocent of this "vast feisty conspiracy."

ROFL...milk 'n honey mebbe but no cookies, 'member??

Think yer little ditty'd be funnier this way:
I was on top of the world
Just rollin' along
Milk 'n honey were flowin'
Life was a song
I met this feisty woman
And everything changed
NOW I'm just SHORT of even
And sinkin' in pain <G> AN' HEADIN' DOWN THE DRAIN!! hee hee hee or mebbe: an' goin' down in flames???

An' as fer them delusions...this ain't laborin'...this is just havin' fun!! Well, fun fer ME at least!! Sounds like you be in pain 'er at least shock. LOL Mebbe I should write a song about blonde poster girls. LOL

She was just a blonde poster girl
With a big ol' smilin' face
Never thought I'd ever meet that gal
'Cause she was so much fun ta hate
She started razzin' with me
Gettin' right under my skin
I took the bait, guess it wasn't hate
But my patience was wearin' thin

She's the poster girl for feisty
But she sure knows how ta cook
I tried ta hate her cookies
But one bite was all it took
It sorta pleases me when she teases me
But I hafta play it cool
Or she won't send me no more cookies
And I ain't nobody's fool

Feist is nice
What kin I say
All I kin do
Is hope 'n pray
Her sense of humor bites
But I like the spice
Yeah..feist is nice

Ok..there ya go Mudgie. Nuther poem/song for ya.

Hugs,
Bobbie

T admit that last line wasn't the greatest. Either one a' your lines is better. (Well, yar bound to win "sometimes" <G>
Yer' poem-song ain't too bad Bobbelina. Your muse is pickin' up steam. Some of it's a bit "fantastic" but all in all pretty good
These two lines especially-----------
----------
I tried ta hate her cookies
But one bite was all it took
-------------
"""Ok..there ya go Mudgie. Nuther poem/song for ya.""'---------------- I think "you'd" prob'ly better be the one to write it. I really haven't got all that much information on the subject and don't know how I'd get any more You on the other hand would have an "intimate" acqaintance with it. Youknow, all the juicy details and such. <G>
Well, I've gotta hunt for a couple discs.
WY

Well I must commend you, Wy!

Taking the paradoxical intervention approach, very clever indeed!..by suggesting you WANT to keep the thread going, we might be misled into shutting it down. But HA! We covered that in like Psych 2, for goodness sake...you can't pull the wool over these jaded eyes...

Went to book fair/vegetable animal project thingy at Charlie's school tonight. Many grownups whom I hadn't seen since the spring were there, so fun to catch up...But they were all asking me "my goodness Beth, what have you done NOW?" and I sarcastically retorted, "Oh, nothing new, just more of the same." Boy, I suspect I'll be able to hang onto the one or two friends I still have left with responses like that, huh? Emily Post has NOTHING on me (and in fact, I even think SHE'S dead, so I am TOTALLY winning... cool

Anyway, keep up the (good) work,
Boo

""""""paradoxical intervention """""""""what's "that" mean? ---
I never got much schoolin' ya' know. Don't understand all them big words---Is that a convention for those people from Paradox?

Hey Wy,

Paradoxical Intervention -- as much as I like your explanation -- is a technique wherein you get people to do your bidding by supporting the opposing actions they have been taking up until then. Essentially taking the wind out of their sails. Of course, it is generally done in a subtle way, and with children, but by way of example, by saying PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE...we fiesty women MIGHT think, oh, now he WANTS to keep it going, well forget THAT, Mister!

PLUS, guess what I just learned from our dear friends at Google?...Miss Emily Post has been dead for almost 50 years! (died 9/60)....no wonder this place is going to hell in a handbasket. I try to do my best to keep her spirit alive, but it's not always easy....For instance, she never spoke of the dilemma of trying to keep our legs daintily crossed at the ankles when wearing an air cast on one and a robot boot on the other. Alas, she died before her time...

Anyway, catch up with ya later...BTW, did you get my laptop song I PM'd you?

Polite regards
Boo (HA HA HA HA)!

Hey Boo,
""""""PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE""""""""Did.n't say nothin' like that, no way, no how.
I'm thinking of running the whole cottonpickin' 2 hour--10 disc recovery again. May be it'll banish me into the cyber badlands and the thread will die while I'm gone. It said I chose to not do the complete recovery, Sacre Bleu!!! I jumped through every hoop I saw.
Well, if ol' Emily was still here, she'd probably tell you how to do that with the casts and all though.
I saw the laptop thing but haven't got around to commenting yet.
An' on another point, how come the dang PM won't let me attach an MP3 to it. That's the only communication I've got. 'Course at present, I can't get to my songs anyway. They're in documents, saved on aol and Windows media player and can't get none of 'em.
I'd better get off a' here before some ornery blonde posts on it---Think I'll have some coffee and cookie <G>

When I was little, my folks would tell me NOT to do something they wanted me to do...and voila!! I'd do it!! "Don't you DARE go to sleep!!!" zzzzzzzzzz, I'd be off in dreamland!! "Don't you DARE eat those peas!!" I'd be wolfing down peas fast as I could. Wish somebody would'a tole me..."Bobbie I think you really ought to marry that guy" first time down the aisle. I'da dropped him like a hot tater!! LOL So I guess I've been an ornery feisty thing pert near all my life!! LOL

Sorry 'bout Miss Emily. Now we hafta make do with Miss Manners. Cross my legs at the ankles, huh? If she died in 1960, she musta had a heart attack just about the time I started really growin' up!! LOL Durn..I prolly kilt the poor lady!!! grin

Hugs,
Bobbie

So you got potential cookie bakers linin' up ta send ya cookies? Well, that is a good thing. Means I don't hafta keep supplyin' 'em. Cain't have ol' Mudgie-man droppin' over from stuffin' his face with too many cookies now can we? grin You outta thank me though, fer gettin' the ball of cookie dough rollin' for ya!! LOL What with Christmas comin' an' all there should be a pile of cookies under yer tree this year. Love makin' Christmas cookies...an' fudge too. I am a mean fudge-maker...well, the mean is true at least. grin but you already know that!!

Glad ya FINALLY got the bitin' comment. Whew. Sometimes, Mudgie...you are just SOOO slow!! grin

The only reason my muse is workin' again is that I finally got moved and let her out of the box I'd taped her in. LOL She was ticked!!! LOL Even thought about stickin' her in the box o' cookies I sent to you so's YOU could try dealin' with her. You think I am ornery??? You outta see HER!! LOL I think she even has red hair!!

You "almost" got me feelin' guilty fer pickin' on ya when yer computer is ailin'...but heck...not guilty enough!! LOL

Hugs,
Bobbie

Hey Bobbelina,

Pretty wild tactic, huh? I use the same line, with a sprinkling of guilt, on my kids, when they say they're not tired...I say, "Great, could you please try to stay awake all night, as a favor to Mommy?" La La land in minutes.

As for your involvement in Miss Post's premature demise, well, I suppose that doesn't surprise me. Fortunately, I believe the statute of limitations for prosecution in this case just passed last March. PHEW! Though "Bobby Behind Bars" certainly does conjure up all sorts of images to work with musically (Hey, maybe you can hum a few BARS -- HA HA HA!!)

Back to work,
Boo

P.S. Now you got me thinking about all the GOOD bars...Candy bars, alcohol-serving bars, underwire bars....whoops, that's not right... blush

"""""""""So I guess I've been an ornery feisty thing pert near all my life!! LOL """"""""""Well, "some" things you say I can believe all right <G>
On the potential cookie bakers----well, I "can't" lose now cause I already got a lot more cookies than I figgered on gettin'----so ya' see, "whatever" happens I'm ahead a' the game.
Well, yeah, I figger the Christmas spirit will affect "ever'body" <G>
""""""""Glad ya FINALLY got the bitin' comment. Whew. Sometimes, Mudgie...you are just SOOO slow!! """""""""Ya' see it's like this. Having led such a sheltered life, I'm really just gettin' educated on a lotta' things on the board <G>
Well, I can understand the ornery muse though. I think their personalities are kinda' sorted out so they fit whoever they're goin' to <G>
""""""""""You "almost" got me feelin' guilty fer pickin' on ya """""""""""""Almost" is a start.
I'd better eat somthing. I'll see if Boo deserves a reply when i come back. Hopefully, no one else will post and then I can close the thread

Oh my goodness, Boo...you been readin' my mail 'er sumpthin??? I AM GOING TO JAIL!!! For good!! Well, kinda sorta like that. I am being locked up anyway! I will be posting a plea for help as soon as I can figger the situation out. Hafta find some good souls to go my bail I guess. grin

Judge threw down the hammer
Bobbie's goin' to the slammer
I'm havin' her arrested
That fact is uncontested
'Til she can go her bail
I'm throwin' her in jail

Details to follow..<G>

I kin think of some fun 'bars'..<G> like looking for Mr Goodbar. An we all know that Davey Crockett kilt him a 'bar' when he was only three. I kin certainly hum a few bars. Heck, I kin downright SING a few bars long as nobuddy else knows the tune! grin Otherwise...nobuddy'd know whut the tune was S'POSED ta be. Then there's Mars bars, Snickers bars, sushi bars ICK, snack bars, coffee bars...now I am makin' myself hungry again!! LOL

Hugs,
Bobbie
