We've had a couple of questions come our way pertaining to the La Casa Dolce Open Mic, and wanted to put the answers out to everyone so there would be no confusion. The original format has evolved from a basic open mic to a singer songwriter open mic featuring original music, along with a monthly singer songwriter showcase.
Leigh has had some doors open for her stemming from her music, and has worked very hard putting together a format that keeps those doors open to other musicians.
Here is a breakdown of the process:
1. Participants of the open mic who wish to be involved in the contest are judged on stage presence, audience interaction, and musical ability.
2. Select winners from the open mic, advance to monthly songwriter night,
3. Selected winners of "Singer/Songwriter Nights" are then judged for a quarterly winner.
4.Quarterly winner will receive: 1) Feature interview and performance on Channel 10/Studio 10 segment 2) Showcase performance at: ProStar Sound Stage 3) 3 hours of recording time from ProStar Recording 4) Live Radio interview and performance with Entertainment and the Arts on WTAN.
5. Annual prize in the works and will be announced by the end of this year.
As you can see, there are some definite goals worth working towards. Thanks!

Leigh and Steve, Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into the La Casa Dolce Open Mic and Songwriter's Nights to this point. La Casa Dolce has always been a great Open Mic. These new additions are like the cherry on top. Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of one of the early Songwriter's Nights - PLUG TIME - this Monday, October 15 along with Papos and Stephanie. Steve V

I'll say that Pro Star is a wonderful place to work...I have never in my life had as pleasurable a recording experience as the Mojo Gurus record, and alot of credit goes to Jody and Jeannette for making us feel so relaxed and comfortable. They are great folks, and the sounds we got are incredible. I'm on my way out the door to head over there for a mixdown session right now.
