Hi Brian
I actually live inbetween springfield Eugene and Portland area in a little town of 120,000 or so named Salem. I am not sure who else is out there in this area. I can go either way north or south and would be highly interested in seeing a JPF trip this way.

Hey Joe
Would love to play except I don't get down that way too often. I wonder if there is a way to do online jam sessions some how? Maybe if we could meet somewhere in the middle that might work. Not sure exactly where we would meet up either but then hey if it's meant to be it's meant to be! Let me know whats your plan is I'm game! Sincerely Derek

Derek, I haven't done online jam sessions--just online collaborations, where a bunch of us will pass tracks around and add to 'em.
I was going to say there isn't anything midway between Eugene and Medford, but there is--little Canyonville (pop. maybe 2,000) is at Milepost 99, and there's a nice park with covered shelter there. We should try something for the heck of it.
Alternatively, I do get through Eugene occasionally, because my wife and child are up on the northern Oregon Coast--it's just my job that's down here. It'll be a few more weeks before I do that again, though.
Let me know.
Joe

Hey Joe
sounds like fun we'll have to work something out. Wish we lived closer but hey ya never know. I work at the penitentiary here in Salem but they are opening one down in junction city (10 miles north of Eugene Springfield area). So there is a possibility might one day end up closer that direction. Let me know the next time you're heading up towards Springfield Eugnene area maybe we can work something out. Sincerely Derek

Thanks, Derek. It'd be fun.
Couple of scheduling thoughts (keep in mind these may change): I expect to be coming north two weekends in October, the weekend of Oct. 6-7 and two weeks later, Oct. 20-21. I'll be judging a high school speech tournament (my daughter's on her high school speech team--but I don't get to judge her). Means I'd be coming through your area on Friday--and I can probably juggle the "when" a little bit.
What's your schedule look like?

Hey Joe
Sounds great! When you say my area do you mean salem area? If os that would be awesome. I am pretty much open all day at any time. I work from 12 midnight to 8am. So those dates should be just fine as far as I know. Let me know a little bit more about where and when and we'll work out some more details. Derek

Hi, Derek. Yes, I meant Salem. On the trips, I can probably arrange to come through Friday in the afternoon or evening before you went to work, if that's okay. Still looking at the same weekends, I think, but I'll know better the closer we get.

Derek, change in plans. I will have to go straight to the Coast this weekend--can't make any stops. And the next trip will be *three* weeks from now instead of two. I think. Will that work?

Hey Joe
Sure that will work just fine. Though I must admit I was really looking forward to jamming with you. If you were interested in hearing one of mine from recently here. I have one posted on the mp3 board called so you tell me. I like the guitar part I sure do need some help with keeping rhythm though. See what you think I'd appreaciate the feeback. Hope you're well and we'll see ya in a few weeks hopefully! Sincere Blessings Derek

Hey Derek, I lived in Salem when I was in high school. In fact I lived about four blocks from where you work.

Hey Jack!
Just goes to show you it's a small world. Yup Salem is quite the little town these days. Will never be like portland but it is growing quite a bit. Nice area to really like it here cept for maybe the rain. Thanks for the visit and the personal history! Sincere Blessings Derek

Hey Joe
Got any confirmed dates yet? I was just wondering cause I am planning an anniversary trip with my wife up to Sister some the 4th of november. Just need to know so I don't end up missing you. Or at least so you know what my plans are. Hope things are well for you and look forward to meeting you at some point. Also I noticed Linda says she might make it down this way. would be a hoot if we could all get together! Sincere Blessings Derek

Derek, how's this Sunday work for you? I'll be seeing my fambly over the weekend, and going back from the Coast to Medford through Salem. I could come by your place. If this is possible, what kind of time is best? (Since you work swing, I don't want to be bangin' on your door too early--and for lots of folks, there's church to consider.)

Hey Joe
This Sunday would be great. You'll have to forgive the chaotic mess my house is but otherwise your more than welcome. We'll be done with church maybe around 12noon? I don't work on Sunday I get off work on Saturday Morning at 8:00am so that's not a problem. I'll give you my cell number in a PM and we can figure out some more of the details. looking forward to it! Sincere Blessings Derek

Hey Joe

Sorry I missed you, too. Next time I come through, I ought to bring my little Tascam 4-channel thingie and we can record something. You've got Windows XP on your computer, right? It ought to recognize the thing--my computer says it's a portable hard drive (and that's close enough so I won't change its mind).
December gets a little problematic for traveling, though. I might not be coming through again until Christmas weekend.
Hope you and fambly are well, and that you had a good Thanksgiving.

Hey Joe
I sure did have a happy thanksgiving and thank you very much for asking. I totally understand and whenever you can make it is fine (sorry I can't drop down that way anytime soon) Yes I owuld really like it if next time we had your 4 tracker. My setup I've gotten some bugs worked out but I still get real bad buzz in the background. Hope you had a good thanksgiving yourself and stay safe out there on them roads! Derek

Halie,
You have a great sound and beautiful voice. I'm just listening to your music, and will try and keep up with your local gigs. I'm in Eugene.
