Wow! We started Monday, got the Drums and Bass tracks all finished by Tuesday (13 tunes)...I started guitars last night, got rhythm guitars finished for 8 songs. Tonight I finish rhythm guitars and start lead tracks...this is hands down the most exciting time I have ever had recording, I can't wait to hear the finished tunes!

Yep, weeks of preproduction rehearsals...I actually enjoyed the work immensely, I could see the progress and it excited the hell out of me.

Guys I am flippin' out! I got on a roll last night, finished the rhythm tracks, and did all but three lead parts and two baritone overdubs, all of which I'll lay down Monday. What a week this has been! My bandmates are astonished, in the past guitars have taken days, sometimes weeks to do...it's good to be the Doctor P.S. Steve, all three of those axes saw heavy action brother, thank you a thousand times.

Doc,
You're welcome a thousand times back. Can't wait to hear the finished product! I'm sure those guitars were glad to get some real rockin' use!

Welcome to the world of professional musicians, Doc. Rehearsing will keep you from cursing. In the studio anyway! Glad things went well for you and your fellow Guru's! Looking forward to hearing the finished product.

Steve V Yeah buddy...funny thing though, I keep hearing voices from the DeArmond, things like "Doc, I wanna be in your band" and "hey Doc, I'd sound really good live on that song too"... In all seriousness, I really love the feel and sound of that baby, I'm gonna be keeping a lookout to see if I can get one like it for a good price. Thanks again, from me and the rest of the boys also.

Doc, I was going to ask if there were any of the three that you were dreaming about, but I didn't want to go there.... That DeArmond would make a lot better music in your hands then it ever will it mine, but I'm just not ready to give it up yet...maybe we can work on some type of adoption program or something I'm sure it wouldn't mind visiting. I'm a very patient, sometimes relatively reasonable fella...I'm sure we can figure out something. They all sounded great for different things bro, which was the goal...my first shot at a major release the last thing I wanted was to get stuck on one guitar tone throughout...y'know it's a Rock and Roll record, but each song has it's own subtle flavors. Unbelievable fun putting it all together. We'll talk soon.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the compliments...finished all my guitars today, except a dobro, and two baritone tracks...gonna hit those tomorrow. Meanwhile Kevin nailed six lead vocals after I got done. This is just falling right into place.

From all of the instruments you described it sounds like this is going to be the Mojo Guru's Philharmonic Rock N Roll deliverance cd. Sounds pretty cool to me!

A couple of backing vocals to do Monday, then the mixing begins...eat that Axl Rose, fifteen years and thirteen million dollars? Ha!

Take the X out of Axl and add an ess or two. The only bigger fool is the one that backed Axl's fifteen year 13 million dollar miscarriage of music. Maybe he should have been a politician. They are always pissing away time and money! My attitude is out!

Yeah, when you consider that Deep Purple wrote and recorded Machine Head in three weeks...Led Zeppelin did their first in under 30 studio hours, and Presence took 18 days...you either got it or you don't.
