Los Angeles and the Twin Citie...
Hello Twin Cities artists and songwriters,

I'm Andrea Stolpe, and I’m excited to pass along the details for a workshop I'm leading for artists and songwriters on July 8th at Café 318. In this unique workshop, I'll be covering topics such as how to:

• effectively present songs to publishing companies and artists
• market songs to TV
• market and promote your career in the area where you live
• self-pitch vs. relying on a publisher
• market your new CD

We’ll also approach the creative side and talk about
• the anatomy of good song hooks
• gathering song-worthy ideas
• demo quality
• how to decide which song ideas to take to completion
• learning to critique our own songs and others’ effectively

We’re covering lots of areas here, and so I’ll be bringing an accomplished independent artist from Los Angeles, Melissa Lewis, to help direct smaller groups for deeper focus in specific areas.

Our workshop will begin promptly at 5pm. Meet Melissa and I at 4pm for dinner, drinks, and networking, and fill me in on your music and your goals. I’d like this workshop to be a place where you can see your craft and career grow, and so sharing information and creating connection will be the foundation of our evening together.

I’ve been striving to keep costs low, and managed to sink the registration to $40. Thanks to our sponsors for making this an affordable evening, and 318 Café for their gracious hospitality.

To ensure 318 Café is prepared for our group, I’ve been asked that participants register for the workshop by July 5th.

To register and ask any questions you may have, email me at education@andreastolpe.com

The registration fee is payable by credit card or other means via paypal.com to education@andreastolpe.com, or by mailing a check or money order to:

Advancing Artists and Songwriters
PO Box 4505
Culver City, CA 90231

Those interested in participating in a critique session should bring a song on CD or an instrument to perform live.

In case you’d like to google the venue location:

318 Cafe
318 Water Street
Excelsior, MN 55331
Sunday, July 8
4pm – 9pm

Please feel free to email me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you and sharing information that has been useful to me over the years with my fellow Minnesotans.

Sincerely,
Andrea Stolpe

So somebody should at least welcome you Andrea. I live in Litchfield, MN. and make trips to Mpls frequently. Mostly I get ignored at events because I'm a Country songwriter in a land of Folk music Sunday the 8th, unfortunately, I have a booking in Nebraska. I've had to leave the state to sell CD's and perform. So..I like the road anyway.

With your qualifications you'd think somebody would respond to your post. Or anybodies post!!!

Welcome and maybe I'll catch your workshop in some other city.

Wayne
