Hi Brian, Just wanted to say thanks so much for - first off - having the JPF Road Trip tour, and secondly for allowing me to hop on the tour in Cincy and Pittsburgh. Both were a blast and I look forward to any other JPF events in the future...you are a man among men, sir! Can't wait to see the photos, etc. Keep me posted. Oh, and I love the hat! Cheers, Brian Lisik www.brianlisik.comwww.myspace.com/brianlisikbandwww.sonicbids.com/brianlisik

We did the Grand Rapids stop last nite, and Brian appeared to be feeling better. Turns out he had strep. Acckk. His voice was clearly whacked, but he persevered thru it all okay.
The event was an absolute gas! We had something like 33 performers. Had a bunch of last minute cancellations, but had some walk ons as well to even it up. Of those who played, probably a dozen were from the local songwriters group I help run.
What a fun nite! I brought my PA and played sound man. T'was a little venue, but it worked quiet well. Thanx to Ralston for helping to get this up and running. Had a little bit of everything last nite.
And t'was a pleasure to meet ya, Bill! Enjoyed your song!

Tim,
Good job for stepping up and helping out! It's people like you, Ralston, Bob Cushing and others who do this that really makes this stuff happen! Props to you all!

Thanx, nite!
I kind of take a similar role to Brian’s with the various songwriting endeavors I’m involved with. I get as much of a kick out of setting things up and giving other people a chance to wow ‘em as I do from playing myself.
With our local songwriters group, I always try to give us all a chance to get out there…and just LOVE it when a plan comes together….as it did last nite.

Good Mornin Tim and anyone else. Brian and I got back to my place about 12:30 AM. Then we sat up and gossiped til 3 AM.. It's 10:45 AM and Brian is still sleeping. He musta really needed it. It should help him recover from the strep. I'm cookin' bacon and eggs (from my own hens) maybe he'll smell it and wake up, LOL.
Tim, You guys did a great job setting everything up for Grand Rapids. It was a good night indeed.
You have some really talented folks up there in Grand Rapids. I enjoyed every one of the performances.

Yeah, Bill, well <cough cough> I wouldn't eat bacon that came from a chicken. Even if it was YOUR chicken. "Couldn't resist, mate..." This is a fun topic. I'll be at the show in Kansas City. Now that I booked my airfare, I REALLY have the jitters. Which song??? Can I sing it 80,000 times before June 7th??? Who's gonna be there that I know??? Linda

Hi Folks,
I am getting better. My Strep had receded a lot but is now replaced by a deep congestion and wheezing cough! And my voice is all over the map.. from none at all, to nearly okay, to very hoarse as it is right now. But after the 2 Chicago shows (and perhaps a 3rd meeting with a local writers group), I have a day a lighter schedule before heading to Minneapolis (an 8 hour drive.. ack!) and on to the last 2 weeks of the tour.
I usually get sick AFTER a tour, so this has added a new twist to the action. I did lose my voice for a show in NYC last time though. Anyone who was at the NYC shows that year may remember. But it bounced back pretty quickly and wasn't accompanied by strep or coughing etc. Just too much loud talking.

Chris,
We haven't posted anything other than the Group photos yet. It takes hours (well, days with the number of pics I have) to sort through, retouch, resize (from the gigantic files they are now) and then post all those pics. It may not happen until I am back home after the St. Louis show on June 9th.

I posted on my blog about the GR show! = ) And the group photo is posted. GR was the most supportive of the shows in terms of donations and buying hats and t-shirts to help keep it going, and it had a great community vibe. Read my blog for more.

Hey Bob, It was great getting back to Cincy and meeting/re-connecting with all the cool people there. Your set was great too! BTW, I think you said you host an open mic type thing pretty regularly? I might be shooting back down to Cincy in July or August to attend one of Kelley Thomas's events, but if you could offer any help/advice/booking, etc. help for the Cincy area, I'd really appreciate it. Haven't had a ton of luck getting down there on a regular basis and I'd really like to. Thanks again, and look forward to seein' ya again soon!
Cheers, Brian

Hey Brian, Thanks for the info on the photos, and please keep me (us) posted on that; I was drinking a bit in Cincy (and come to think of it, Pittsburgh too...), so some of those might be funny (haha). And thanks again for all your help and for doing this at all - you rock sir!
Cheers, Brian Lisik

Brian, unfortunately my venue for my songwriter night has bitten the dust {no surprise, if you knew the owners!} You can't go wrong with Kelly Thomas, in fact my friday happy hours have come open , so I may be able to do some of her shows in the future {darn, only playing SIX gigs a week now!] Also, my friend {and great singer sonwriter} G. Burton is having a songwriter showcase on sundays all summer at R.P Mcmurphy's. I'll put in a word for ya. {He's on Myspace}

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this very interesting forum. I came across your site when I saw a post on myspace about the road trip. It looks like the roadtrip will make a stop here in my hometown of Louisville. I am wondering, do the performers only do original material? Or is cover material allowed? I just learned to play the guitar in the last year and I am up to about 5 songs that I can play. I have played out at a local bar once and it went well. I am interested in knowing more about the JPF organization. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lisa

Thanks Bob! I'll look up those places and any other cool venues you could recommend, send 'em along. Can't wait to get back to Cincy!

Hey Brian!
I like your CD. I guess you didn't get lost on your way home from Pittsburgh! Still haven't written that song you inspired that night-maybe tomorrow.
