Tom added some a bass line and electric lead to this song - very tasteful stuff. He makes it sound a lot better! New link http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=473345&songID=5271790Clint I Don’t Know In my life questions have been many; In my life answers have been few – From what I can see, no one (including me) Knows the words to the tune. Is there a reason, oh is there a rhyme? Does anyone have the slightest clue? Can you spare a dime? Can you tell me the time? Can we help each other to get through? I don’t know why the wind blows, And I don’t know why a river flows; I don’t know where I came from, And when I die I don’t know where I’ll go – There are so many things that I don’t know. Is there a plan or is it just happenstance That there is a me and a you? Is there a chance I could learn the dance Before the music is through? There is fire in the snow, there is gold in the debris; Deep in the darkness there’s a glow – It’s a mystery wrapped in mystery; It’s a secret hidden inside a stone. I don’t know why the wind blows, And I don’t know why a river flows; I don’t know where I came from, And when I die I don’t know where I’ll go – There are so many things that I don’t know. Nice upgrade Clint. I haven't been around lately - I am going through the Jukebox at rpmchallenge.com (800+ songs!). I did a rpm challenge CD in February so I feel obligated to at least try and listen to the others who gave it a shot. However, it was worth coming back for this one.

Hey Clint,
Great collab, I'll bet you guys had a good ol' time doing this one!
Your vox sound very good the levels and the tones sound really good!
Nicely written and played little number, it almost takes on a performance quality to it, which I feel makes it more listenable.
Thanks for sharing.

Hey Guys:
I can't hear the bass too well on my speakers - its the speakers fault though - I know this from past experience...
I love the lead guitar part though - that tiny riff after the end of the second verse line is just such a cool little touch.
Nice work on this - still really love this song!

Scott, Kevin and Tom -
I got Tom's new version just now - he brought up the bass very nicely. I have updated the file on Soundclick (same link) with the latest version. Thanks, Tom! Levels sound perfect to me.

Yes, this mix sounds better - at least on my bad speakers. I'll play it again tomorrow over the 'phones. Bass line isn't lame, Tom - is nicely suited to the song, in my opinion....

Clint...
You and Tom have put together quite a nice piece here. I think someone else has already mentioined it, but this does have a very sweet live performance sound to it. Everything sounds good to me. Nice job!

Accel,
It's amazing what you can do these days with collaboration - no need to play live and yet be able to get that feeling.

Scott Tom was too shy about bringing out that bass the first round - but I am glad he was convinced to do it. Thanks for listening yet again, Scott.

Hi Clint & Tom, Loved the sound of this! It's beautiful. I love the last verse stanza the best--so poetic. I enjoyed the playing--guitar AND bass--and Clint, I love your vibrato. So cool. Glad I finally got to listen! Yay!

Clint,
Haven't seen you for awhile, but I still listen to "When I Close My Eyes and Dream" on my iPod all the time.
This song is good but not as good as that other one...of course that other one is one of my favorites I've ever downloaded from fellow songwriters, so that's a hard act to follow.
The lyrics are good, but have been covered many times before (I played the Ozzy Osbourne song of same name many times, and really it's message is exactly the same.) My favorite song with this them is Iris Dement's "Let the Mystery Be" The Indigo Girls' "Closer to Fine" is another famous example.
The guitars sound great individually but the doubling / multitracking needs to be tightened up a fair bit. The bass and leads do add to the song, I might turn up the level of the lead a little too, perhaps?
Anyway, I love your music Clint, so don't take anything I've said as too negative. Mainly just me typing out my thoughts as I listen.
Jay
