"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

you know I was never much into Flower photos or Flower paintings.. (unless perhaps in a field). Linda loves them though and is always photographing flowers and bugs and animals.

Tricia!!!
That flower looks 'outta this world'. First of all it looks like it's a giant flower but then the color looks so different than anything I've ever seen. Guess I've never seen a Trumpet flower! The leaves are beautiful. The background is the night sky I assume? Or are you into putting props/backdrops up? Your work captures attention. Love it!

second look makes me think it's a wall and roof of something in the background----can't quite make it out though.

I'm with Linda, Brian. Florals are my favorite!
Thanks, Vanessa. I have a series of the trumpet plant opening. I have been looking for these backup discs and I found them today. That's taken at night with a flash. It works well to take them late evening just as the sun is setting, too. That way, the background automatically "blacks" out.

Gorgeous is insufficient to describe! I love flowers especially wildflowers and pretty weeds. My heart actually races and I light up when I see a field or vase of wildflowers. I cut them down from the roadside and bring indoors and they make my heart go pitter patter.
