Looking to see if anyone has been to a place in Centerville called Jeremiah's? What's it like? When is the last time you've been there? How far is it from Nashville? Will you go back? How often do you go? I may be going there to sing and I found a post from greydog on your forum. But it is from back in 2004. Thanks for your help.

just linkin,

I've played there a few times, once with Ira Louvin and a couple of times with Bernadette. Jeremiah Sundown is the resident singer, he's good... a lot like Waylon. It's about an hour and a half's drive for me (I live on the North side of Nashville). Nice place, good Southern cooking. Great stage and good sound.

Glad you found us, hang around [Linked Image]

Howdy Linkin,

Greydog was my husband (he passed away in summer of 2004). We went to Jeremiah's a few times since we live within a few miles. I hate to disagree with my dear friend Mike Dunbar (I think we went there once to see him play with Ira Louvin)...but I would NEVER and I mean NEVER go back there again. Folks'll tell you that it takes a LOT to get under my skin but Jeremiah himself is the reason I refuse to go there anymore. On more than one occasion I saw that man treat people so dispicably that I could not in good conscience support his place again. He simply has NO class.

For example, he had a couple of young brothers (late teens, early twenties) playing there who were phenomenal. The older brother was extremely handsome and was the lead singer. The younger brother was nowhere near as good looking as the older brother but he was simply incredible on the guitar and harmonies. From the stage, right in front of the audience, Jeremiah called the younger brother "the ugly one"!!! We got up and walked out!

A lot of older folks go there, folks in their 60's and 70's and a lot of families with young kids (this is real rural country here and not a lot of other options of things to do). One evening he got this sweet old lady up on stage with him (probably in her mid-late 70's)...and proceeded to insult and humiliate her. Why? Who knows? But it just angered me so much we have never been back.

Jeremiah himself seems to have a bad case of delusions of grandeur. He envisions himself as a clone of Waylon, but even to my non-trained musical ears, he can't sing worth beans..sings off-pitch, and has this arrogant habit that drove us nuts. He doesn't sing any original music of his own but when he does covers, he deliberately tries to throw the players off by singing the phrasing of well known songs in such a manner that no one could follow him. His prosody makes no sense so it isn't that he is merely trying to 'own' the songs. It is clearly just a power thing between him and whoever is backing him.

Bet that was more than you wanted to hear about Jeremiah's!!! Sorry. I do NOT badmouth anybody unless they really deserve it. In this case, I just can't support the guy. The young son (11 years old) of one of my best friends got invited to go there and open for a couple of acts. I told my friend about Jeremiah and she isn't letting him perform there either.

I wish you all the best with your upcoming performance there. I hope all goes smoothly. The food is good and cheap. I can give you good directions from Nashville on how to get here if you'd like. Depending on where you are coming from, as Mike says, it will take you close to 1.5 hrs to get here from Nashville.

Warm regards,
Bobbie

I read a write up on a place called Jeremiah's by this person named Bobbie. I must admit that Jeremiah isn't a good singer - he's an EXCELLENT singer.

I first went to Jeremiah's in June of 2006. I managed to see only the Saturday evening show. Once the evening was over I wish I would have been there for the Friday show also. Jeremiah AND his band were wonderful.

I went to Jeremiah's again in October of 2006. This time I went to both the Friday and the Saturday evening shows. Jeremiah's singing is astounding, and I had NO disappointments. I honestly don't know why this Bobbie person is badmouthing such a wonderful place AND a wonderful person.

I have to admit that I put Jeremiah right up there with George Jones, Don Williams, AND Waylon Jennings. When this woman Bobbie talks about her "non-trained musical ears" she can say that again. She doesn't know good music when it's right in front of her. I don't believe Jeremiah "envisions himself as a clone of Waylon" Jeremiah is who he is, and he has a talent that he shares with everyone who steps in the door of his place.

Jeremiah is a nice enough person to allow people to sing on his stage - he gives them a chance to show THEIR talent. Not many singers do that.

There is no way I would make a trip of 1,336 miles to see a bad singer. Jeremiah is an EXCELLENT singer. He likes to joke with the band, and they give it right back. What singer doesn't have fun with or tease their band. In fact, I never heard of the town Centerville until I heard of Jeremiah's. Centerville is blessed to have such a warm family environment, such as Jeremiah's, where there's no smoking and no alcohol.

This man Jermeiah is kind and I have NEVER heard him insult or humiliate anyone. He's an AMAZING singer, his band is WONDERFUL, and the staff is MARVELOUS.

You don't have to take my word for it, don't take this Bobbie person's word for it. Go see for yourself. You will have a good time, and you will want to go back for more. I admit, it's worth the 1,336 miles to go to Jeremiah's for me.

JEREMIAH'S IS AN EXAMPLE OF A WHOLESOME, FAMILY ORIENTED, FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT VENUE. THERE SHOULD BE ONE IN EVERY TOWN WHERE GOOD PEOPLE COULD GO AND TAKE CHILDREN AND FAMILY KNOWING THERE WILL BE GOOD FOOD AND A WIDE VARIETY OF GOOD MUSIC WITHOUT A CHOKING-SMOKEY ATMOSPHERE, DRINKING AND BAR FIGHTS.
JEREMIAH IS A UNIQUELY GIFTED SINGER, SONGWRITER, MUSICIAN, ENTERTAINER AND ALL AROUND GOOD PERSON.
THE BAND; STUDIO AND ARTIST`S MUSICIANS DRIVING 90 MILES + TO PLAY WITH JEREMIAH BECAUSE OF THE MAN AND THE WARM ATMOSPHERE.
NO ENTERTAINER IS GOING TO PLEASE EVERYONE BUT ANYONE WHO BASHES HIS PERFORMANCE OR RESPECT OF OTHERS HAS EITHER A HIDDEN AGENDA, A DEAF EAR, A DIMISHED CAPACITY FOR ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION, OR, ALL OF THE ABOVE. THIS PERSON NEEDS TO GET OUT MORE.
I'VE WORKED COAST TO COAST WITH 40+ ARTISTS, BANDS AND ORCHESTRAS. JEREMIAH AND JEREMIAH`S IS AT THE TOP. "WILD MAN"

Bobbie, I don't know who you are but obviously you DO have a hidden agenda in your opinion of Jeremiah. Before I go on, I think you also need to seriously develop a sense of humor.

Do you think he can change his voice? Do you think he woke up one day and said to himself, "I think I will sing like Waylon Jennings?"

Obviously, you don't know anything about music. Though I myself do not play, I have been around musicians all my life. A good musician can back up anyone - to me the fact that Jeremiah changes the phrasing of well-known songs means that he doesn't have to give a perfect performance to boost his ego.

I have also been around Jeremiah enough that I know musicians and listeners alike are absolutely crazy about him. The teasing is part of his act, and if the people he is teasing can handle it, it should be none of your concern.

As for the little old lady, I would be willing to bet that she is one of his dearest friends and loves him. I know him well enough to know that he would never intentionally hurt anyone in such a manner.

You clearly must be a friend of the employee he opened his home to countless times that was stealing from him. Or maybe the older lady who was jealous of everyone he had any contact with and wanted to sleep with him.

Get a life, Bobbie!

Bobbie,
I'm sorry that you have the wrong impression about Jeremiah Sundown's establishment. He is a good performer who has brought into Centerville a staff of highly-qualified, pro musicians.

He has an extensive following of patrons with which he has bonded, and anything you perceived as rude banter towards others was meant and taken in jest for it's entertainment value.

If you were a regular patron, you would soon realize that any lyric changes were made so that they related personally to his regular patrons, and were not made to take away anything from the original artist's work.

I've seen patrons from two weeks old to their 80's attend his shows, and all seem to have a good time. Jeremiah has kept the cost down for both his cover charge and food products to accomodate his patrons.

Jeremiah has also donated his time to local organizations and has supported various local fundraisers, which are too numerous to list here.

He and his band use their break time to mingle with the patrons and he always stands at the door when patrons leave after a show to thank them for their attendance.

So you see, Jeremiah's is the best thing that's happened for many of us since the TVA. The regular patrons support him loyally, as I am doing now. I hope that you take the opportunity to attend another show, keeping in mind what I've said about his audience interaction and generosity.

You may come away with a totally different opinion.....

Awww, Bobbie, bless your heart! I'm afraid you totally misinterpreted everything you saw or heard when you were at Jeremiah's.

Aside from reinforcing all the positive responses posted about Jeremiah's, please let me add a couple of further points of information.

Jeremiah is a kind, compassionate person with a playful sense of humor. Take the time to search the 'net and look at the different sites where Jeremiah's name is mentioned. No negatives there. With the notable exception of yours...

You did your friend's 11 year old child a great disservice by discouraging the child's appearance at Jeremiah's. Jeremiah has long been known for promoting young entertainers. Jeremiah regularly features them, giving up his own stage time to do so (and that goes for the adult entertainers as well). It seems the younger performers understand Jeremiah's humor better than you, they give as good as they get when it comes to teasing Jeremiah!

My husband and I started going to Jeremiah's about 3 years ago and we've become "regulars". Our first impression of Jeremiah's was the amazing, clean atmosphere and great, quality music. You're quite right, a place like Jeremiah's is rare in this rural area, but Jeremiah's is very much appreciated by those of us who now refer to ourselves as Jeremiah's "family". The friendships and camaraderie we've developed with the other regular patrons of Jeremiah's, and Jeremiah himself, are very precious to us.

For those of you who take the time to read this, please don't stay away from Jeremiah's just because someone posted an obviously uninformed opinion of Jeremiah. Come visit Jeremiah's and see for yourselves. "Just Linkin' ", we're eagerly anticipating meeting you and making a new friend at Jeremiah's!

Warm regards,
Bobbie

There are so much that will be missed if anyone of you fail to hear the great music at Jeremiah's because of this statement. Evidentally this person was only there once, and never heard him sing. He is the most talented person, whom I have ever heard perform. I know that because I have followed his music for 5 years, and enjoyed every minute of it. Try it you will like it. Snootful

Hi Bobbie,

I'm sorry that your evening at Jeremiah's was not enjoyable. I can see how someone might get the wrong first impression, but we've all made the mistake of misinterpreting a stranger at some point in our lives.

True, Jeremiah doesn't have any class, but he's still our Hero. Ha ha.

He is an extremely tenderhearted person once you get to know the real man.
Ask his cat. Ask the people in nursing
homes he has freely visited and performed for. Ask his innumerable friends.

He is an artist, he interprets the music the way he feels it. Most people are in awe of his talent and showmanship, but
you have every right to choose not to be enamored with his kind of entertainment.

When it comes to Jeremiah Sundown, Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best, "to be great is to be misunderstood".

Please consider trying us again, Bobbie, we'll treat you right.

Greetings and peace to all.I am responding to the lady named Bobbie,I have known Jeremiah Sundown since the late seventies and beyond until 1987,where i got to know Jeremiah as close as anyone.when i read the posting i couldnt believe the discussion was about the same Jeremiah. i dont know the lady named bobbie, but i do know Jeremiah and i know that Jeremiah would pack the place in my home town as well as my brothers places over the years. he is a gentleman with principals who doesnt do drugs or use profanity to my recollection ever, good qualities in this day and age.jeremiah himself would be devastated if he ever hurt anyone and when people left his shows they left smiling and happy, including this writer. as some of us Jeremiah suffered a tradgedy in his life, that has left him with sadness and at the same time has made him a good gOod neighbor and friend to all he encounters.that is why i love him as a brother and am very proud to know him.with deep respect and sincereity i leave with these words judge not lest you be judged and love your neighbor, as others love jeremiah as a neighbor. Howdy Folks,

Glad to see that Jeremiah at least has some friends. However, I find it surprising that I am one of the few who provided my real name and real email address...and from the number of first time posters here, I suspect that someone has notified Jeremiah and he has rallied his friends and acquaintances to stand up for him. I don't blame him.

I did not and would not tell anyone else not to go there...I even offered to provide directions. Instead I am merely stating what happened and what I observed on several occasions when I was there at Jeremiah's. I think we were there at least 6 times. I am sorry these events occurred...but cumulatively, they were sufficient that I would not return, nor can I in good conscience recommend the place to anyone I care about.

The two boys I saw perform there were the Hudson Brothers. Their father, who is their agent told my husband, he would never allow the boys to perform there again...so this was not merely my personal, biased opinion.

If some folks enjoy rude and obnoxious jokes at someone else's expense then you would probably feel right at home there. I don't call that banter. I call that low class. I love humor and joking around...but that is not what this man engages in.

I did like the atmosphere...the food is good, inexpensive and I loved the fact that this place caters to families...I said that earlier. I also agree heartily that more communities need non-smoking family-oriented music venues. Had I not observed his behavior on several occasions, I would probably still be going there. This was not simply an isolated experience.

When I said wasn't a trained musician...I did not intend to imply that I was not in the music business. I am a professional songwriter and have my own music company...I spend a lot of time in music studios and work closely with a lot of incredible artists and musicians (like Mike Dunbar). I know a good singer/musician when I see and hear one. Jeremiah does not fall into that category. Of course...that is merely my opinion. I suggest anyone who questions my judgement...do go there. Listen. If you can't tell the difference..then keep going! [Linked Image] It's all in one's musical taste. I simply prefer folks with more talent and less ego.

I wish Jeremiah and all his supporters the very best. I am glad each of you found your way to Just Plain Folks and hope you will stick around. Glad I started enough controversy here to at least get you all to participate. There's room in this world for differing opinions. I won't try to change yours..and I daresay that Jeremiah doesn't concern himself sufficiently to try to change mine.

Kindest regards...
Bobbie

Bobbie you are SO SO correct about that Jeremiah guy.

Anyone who disagrees has got to be just as arrogant as he is.

Narcissist = Jeremiah......I know first hand.

And who ever made the comment about women wanting to sleep with him, that has got to be the most humorous thing I have ever heard. Not even if he was the last man on earth. You would have to be pretty desperate to do that. I cant imagine anyone being sexually attracted to that man. Have you taken a good look at him or gotten close enough to smell. Has he ever heard of personal hygiene???

And as far as his sense of humor goes, there is nothing funny about it. I would hardly call him a comic.

The man is a freak. He is so in love with himself (like I mentioned earlier) and thinks everyone else loves him too.

As far as I am concerned he is WHITE TRASH. He has NO class.

Bobbie like I said you are so correct and in so many ways. I love you Bobbie!

And to anyone who wants to challange me or Bobbie I have one thing to say to you....
"F!@# OFF!"

Who would ever want to sleep with this man? She must of been pretty old or deperate or both. Or is that something Jeramiah told you? He thinks all women want to sleep with him.

To the Administrator of the board:

What began as an animated discussion and fairly civil disagreement has obviously deteriorated into something ugly. When a person is attacked (unfairly and incorrectly) about their personal hygiene including insinuated vulgarity and profanity, it appears it may be time to close this thread.

As a newbie to the site, I've been intrigued but do not care to hang around if posts such as those by Ice Queen are permitted. (I'm very disappointed in you, Ice Queen, I thought you had more class than that...)

Dear Gretch,

I think we actually met at the old Coble Opry several years back when Hugh was doing the shows there. I do hope you will stick around here. Posts such as some of those posted above are generally not tolerated here at JPF...including the ones where the individuals were leveling their firepower at me. Personal attacks and profanity are not acceptable anywhere, especially on a message board that prides itself in bringing people together. I can handle those comments when they are directed at me. In the music business one tends to develop fairly thick skin.

The original poster here was asking for opinions and I offered mine which is based on my personal experiences at Jeremiah's. Obviously other folks took umbrage that I would attempt to defame their "friend" and "hero". We all have opinions...and I respect you and other's right to disagree with me. I am not, however, misinformed nor did I misinterpret the situations I described above. Nor were we the only ones to walk out of Jeremiah's with the same negative impression. [Linked Image]

I regret that Centerville has so little diversity of options that folks cling to mediocrity as if it was a lifeline. If the poster who stated that Jeremiah's is the best thing to come to Centerville since TVA really believes that...then I think that individual needs to get out a bit more. [Linked Image]

To expect everyone in life to agree with one's own perspective is to take on a totally untenable burden. We are all products of differing life experiences and tastes. Jeremiah just does not happen to be even remotely my cup of tea.

I have no "agenda"...do not know who was being referred to in the statements about my having been somehow connected to someone who was stealing from him. I am simply a member of the community who went to his place several times and left with a bad taste from the experience. BTW...I never once saw him greet guests as they left.

I hope folks continue to have a good time there. I wish no one any ill will. I simply don't choose to spend my precious time there.

Sincerely,
Bobbie

Dear Gretch:

First and foremost I would like to apologize for offending you by using profanities. However my aplogies stop there.
Just know that I speak from experience and I would never make something up.....I will admit I do have a strong dislike for this man however it was something he brought upon himself. People need to be treated with respect and he just doesn't get that.

Signing off for now.

Have a nice day!

The Queen.

We have been going to Jeremiah's since he first opened, going on four years.

We are there 3 nights a week, unless our A/C business detains us. There is no better place to go if you want great entertainment in a smoke & alcohol free environment.

Jeremiah is one of the greatest Singers, and Song Writers we have ever heard, and the band is so awesome. It is so nice to be able to be with friends that are like family.

It has inspired my husband, Eddie Felts, known as (Dr. Kool) to play and sing Karaoke, learn to play the guitar, and even produce his own CD the first of the year.

Jeremiah has always greeted people during intermission and after the show, sometimes he is not able to get to everyone before they leave but that is usually when we have a large crowd, but he has never failed to say "Thank You" to us.

He goes to the Hospital, Nursing Home,Funerals, and usually asked to sing at both the Nursing & Funeral Home.

All the Band Members have to drive around 400 miles on a week end just to play and sing for us folks.

People from all ages come there, and keep coming back every week, must be doing something right!

Jeremiah has other talented singers every night, which adds the zest to the show and good variety, and that is what the people want.

Since we have been going to Jeremiah's we have gotten acquainted with new friends and reaquainted with the old ones that we haven't seen in years.

What is so amazing is, if you have came more than one or twice he can remember your first and last name. He strives so hard to bring good entertainment, food, and a down home atmosphere to our county, and people drive for miles and miles for that enjoyment.

I am not going to bad mouth anyone, and that is the reason why they have different places of entertainment to go to, you do have a choice.

We will continue to support Jeremiah in all his endeavors, we know being in business ourselves, you are not going to please everyone, but the ones that you do, are eternally grateful.

Looking forward to see all the great folks at Jeremiah's this weekend, "IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER."

I would like to reply to the comments made about Jeremiah Sundown. I have known Jeremiah since 1998 and never known him to be anything but a gentlemen and a genuine person.

I, as many others, take personal offense to allegations you think otherwise.

I have never been to Jeremiah's Place but have been to numerous functions where he had entertained. At no time was he ever disrepectful or discourteous to guests or hosts. I have yet to find someone who did not agree he was a gracious, thoughtful person and certainly a wonderful entertainer.

Jeremiah has the heart, soul, and voice of an entertainer and always been a caring and thoughful man. He always has and always will be.

Anyone who disputes this must have baggage of thier own they need to deal with. There is no merit for your accusations as those who know him better than you know they are completely without merit or creditability.

Bobbie,
I try to feel sorry for you. What childish and imature accusations you make regarding others. Take a look at yourself. Why, without anyone else but computer language to back you up do you continue?

This has really gotten funny. Bobbie has acted with class and all these people came out against her. I agree with her that it's highly suspicious it happened in December, which was about 12 days after she posted her message. Maybe the people just happened to see the mention of Jeremiah's but it was posted before Bobbie's. I think she's right--there's a conspiracy against her, even though it may be a conspiracy of one. Then the thread starts talking about women who want to sleep with Jeremiah and how bad he smells! What a hoot!

This post was just brought to my attention tonight. I am not familiar with the venue but I am familiar with 2 people involved with this discussion: Mike Dunbar and Bobbie Gallup. Though what Bobbie said was harsh, she did it with specific examples and in her own name. That has a lot of credibility on many levels let alone the fact that she's well known to just about anyone on the board. I've never known her to make an attack on someone that was unfounded. I often disagree with her on many things, but she has the integrity to put her own name behind her words and that's something that very few on this discussion have done.

The supporters of the venue and the Ice Queen on the other hand have no track record here, won't use their own names (with a couple exceptions) and most don't even show their email addresses keeping them anonymous. Anonymous attacks, no matter who they are attacking or supporting for that matter, have no credibility here. Anyone who spends any time on the web can see an obvious set up when a post like this is dormant until someone with a vested interest urges others to get involved en masse and often while cowering behind anonymity because they can't bear to put their own names to their own words. All these anonymous supporters have done is cast more doubt on the venue and add more veracity to Bobbies complaints.

If you're so passionate to support someone, use your real name with your real email address. If you're going to claim fears of spam, then use your real name. Spammers can't do a thing with just a real person's name. Since some of you have hotmail and yahoo accounts on top of it, it adds even more doubt to your credibility.

Ice Queen, though she agree's with Bobbie is equally irrelevent in her comments. If you believe something and you're being honest, say it with your own name. Otherwise crawl back into your anonymous hole.

Normally I would delete all the anonymous attacks on this post. In this case it actually adds credibility to Bobbie's viewpoint and she used her real name. We're in the process of upgrading these boards and when that process is done, I'll delete all anonymous attacks from either side on this post. If the people involved want to fight it out in public using their real names and facts (rather than obnoxious attacks like some here) that is up to them. We allow adults to disagree if they are willing to stand behind their comments. If something is posted that we know to be factually incorrect we will delete that too.

We allow adults to disagree if they are willing to stand behind their comments. If something is posted that we know to be factually incorrect we will delete that too.

Looking to see if anyone has been to a place in Centerville called Jeremiah's? What's it like? When is the last time you've been there? How far is it from Nashville? Will you go back? How often do you go? I may be going there to sing and I found a post from greydog on your forum. But it is from back in 2004. Thanks for your help.</font>

Well, I feel I must post and add something here. I have been to Jeremiah's and enjoyed myself. I found Jeremiah to be professional, humourous, obnoxious, cynical, self praising, but never forgetting that the people there made the difference and the band - well, they are as professional as you get. I loved the antics between them, they were having fun. I have heard live professional bands many times and these guys - well, they are awesome. I could not believe the talent that a place like Jeremiah's has. Most of the places in Nashville can't say they have any better. I went to Centerville, checked out the local restaurants the day I went. It is a nice little town. So, from all the posts I've read about this place (Jeremiah's)and it being in a small town, it doesn't surprise me that many people have spoken up. A small community such as this, well, if anything gets said about someone, everyone will know. So, naturally many have come to Jeremiah's defense. I think the reason is that some of these people genuinely care for Jeremiah and he for them. And I think Jeremiah is a guy that a person would either love or hate and no in between. And I think from reading these posts and doing a little more search on the net about him, he probably is the same way. He has deep love for people, without getting too close, but could feel betrayed and hate you, but would care again if you went to him with an apology. I don't see him as the one to apologize. (Just a note: I have been in clinical psychology. The above statement was an observation.) The night I went, there was a young girl age 14, I think, that sang and she was sassy with Jeremiah and he was giving it back. I gathered from the conversation that they do this often. It was rather comical.

And I'm sorry Bobbie that you had a bad experience and I hope you might give this place another chance since you enjoy music, but if you don't, enjoy music where ever you may find yourself, and I thank you for your honesty and truthfulness about how you feel. I hope you have not been hurt by anyone posting on this message board and know I deeply appreciated all that you said.

And IceQueen, well, you could be right about a few things, but some opinions are to be kept to ourselves.

And I was greeted at the door by Jeremiah as I was leaving. And the people there were very nice and friendly. I will go back when time allows. I will also send friends there. Jeremiah is just a guy trying to make a successful business and to do what he enjoys.

I thank each of you for your comments.

Just Linkin has touched on something that really irks me about the internet. He said, "Some opinions are best kept to ourselves."

The internet is like having a big meeting in a dark cave. Someone says, "What do you think about George?" I say, "George is an idiot." Now, with a group of guys at the American Legion Hall, an exchange like this is common, and frankly, it is helpful on many levels in social and business discourse. It tells some people about George...it tells some people about me.

But remember, we're in a dark cave. George might be there. His wife might be there. His children. George's lunatic brother Harry might call me a foul name...and I don't recognize his voice. George's wife's lover might agree with me and add that George is a drunk. Again, nobody recognizes her (his wife's lover...see! I'm a modern guy).

So here we are, stumbling around the internet in this dark cave. We recognize some of the voices. Some folks introduce themselves with their real names. Some folks pretend they are someone else. Some are simply anonymous, which allows them to be either brutally honest, while risking nothing, or to be secretly manipulative.

All this, which I've thought a lot about over the years, has gradually led me to adopt a few policies. After getting in the middle of several flame wars (none of which have EVER turned out well) I've stopped arguing with anonymous people, and I've stopped writing negatively about individual, specific persons or businesses.

Actually, this goes back to a few thing my mother taught me. "If you can't speak well about someone, it's better to say nothing." and, "Don't let youself get drawn into arguments between strangers or, especially, friends."

All the Best,
Mike

I've exchanged personal e-mails about other issues with both Bobbie and Mike. I think they are both honest but they have different views on the same subject. That's life. Life goes on.

Well, Bobbie's a good friend, I've seen her do some great things for people, helped out some folks that would surprise all of you, but never talks about it. I barely know Jeremiah, played his club a few times and spoke with him for a few minutes total. He seems like a nice fellow.

Maybe some of you folks have had friends who rubbed each other the wrong way. Any of you have a mama or papa who didn't like your boyfriend/girlfriend? Or even your spouse? How about some good friends that got divorced and want you to take sides? That's life, it happens. Just that here, it's happening on the internet where people can get extremely personal and public about it while being total strangers. Sometimes posts on the net can be like writing on a bathroom wall.

Anyway, to those of you who are mad at Bobbie, she's a wonderful gal, be the first to help anyone out, even those of you who are mad at her.

And for folks who are mad at Jeremiah, I don't know him as well, but he seems likes a good sort too. But somehow his "rough kidding" style of humor and presentation rubbed Bobbie the wrong way, and being the protective person she is, she warns folks away from his place. I can imagine folks recommending against going to see Don Rickles live, or calling Don Imus, or Michael Savage, or Howard Stern on the radio (and I'm not comparing Jeremiah to these four, just comparing the situation).

I've been in similar situations. Anyone who performs publicly has both fans and detractors. I've been called a lot of things in emails and on websites, they weren't bad folks calling me that stuff, just didn't like things I said and wrote so they let off some steam.

And regarding ex-girlfriends, well I had one walk into a club barefoot through the snow one winter evening and throw my sleeping bag on stage. It landed over me, the microphone hitting my head and making a loud "thump" sound that echoed through the club. For years I had a recurring nightmare that I'd turn on Jerry Springer and see all my ex's lined up on the couch (well, maybe couches). They're not bad gals, I'm not a bad guy. As Eb says, that's just life.

So, y'all...cool off. Life's too short to get bent out of shape by what someone writes on the internet or says on a stage.

All the Best,
Mike

JUST A FEW QUESTIONS: 1) many of us are being called "anonymous" because we're using our nicknames. Does this mean we have an anonymous whole we should crall into or are you like the little person with the big car who doesn`t let anyone pass him?
2) Has anyone ever met a truely talented and devoted artist/performer who bad mouths another performer? I haven't..in my 58 years, each person I've witnessed speaking negatively seemed to have been describing him/herself. 3) has anyone ever seen a "lady" with a foul mouth? I have not.

Hey Michael,

You didn't say who you were asking these questions to, so I'll take a crack.

"JUST A FEW QUESTIONS: 1) many of us are being called "anonymous" because we're using our nicknames. Does this mean we have an anonymous whole we should crall into or are you like the little person with the big car who doesn`t let anyone pass him?"

I don't call people who use nicknames "anonymous," but I do call people who use nicknames and leave no real names or email addresses "anonymous," because that fits the definition of the word "anonymous"...without a real name.

I know of no anonymous hole anyone should crawl into...never heard of such a thing until you mentioned it...now that you mention it, no, I don't think anyone should crawl into an anonymous hole.

I am a fairly big person in a small SUV who lets people pass, but don't see what this has to do with the thread here.

"2) Has anyone ever met a truely talented and devoted artist/performer who bad mouths another performer? I haven't..in my 58 years, each person I've witnessed speaking negatively seemed to have been describing him/herself."

In my 56 years I've met a lot of artists (some quite talented and devoted to music) who've bad-mouthed other artists. Just sit in a tour bus and listen to what the band says when Big and Rich come on the radio...or Michael Jackson. For that matter, sit around with a bunch of artists and ask what they think of me...I'll bet you'll get a range of ideas. Yes, people have seem to me to often be critical about things of which they themselves are guilty. I know I'm that way...good observation.

"3) has anyone ever seen a "lady" with a foul mouth? I have not."

My aunt Gertrude could cuss like a sailor. If anyone said she wasn't a lady, she'd have cussed them out and given them a black eye.

"no god, no peace, know god, know peace",

Not a question, but a statement with which I fully agree.

"wild man" aka Michael Vincent (addresses of my "holes" available upon request)"

Good to hear from you, Micheal. (folks, Michael is an excellent musician and all-around good guy.)

Mike

Identity unbeknownst to Jeremiah ; I have visited his music venue many times. With each and "every" time, I have left there "entertained". The man is a genius at what he does. I watch him shake hands and hug nearly everyone he meets. I too, am bid a "thank you" and a "good night" at the door by Jeremiah EVERY time. Little kids adore this man. I don't understand why he isn't on the Grand Ole Opry. I find it incredulous at the negative things attributed to him by some of those in this forum.

I am from South Dakota. I knew Jeremiah years ago would love to hear from him. I do not know how to get in contact with him. The phone number 931-729-2924 is no longer in service. Is Jeremiah's still going?

Hey grayfeline,

Here's the only info I could find:

109 Progress Center Plz, Centerville, TN 37033
Phone: (931) 729-2924

Well, that looks like what you've already got.

Maybe some of the many folks who posted a while ago can get back and get you some positive information.

All the Best,
Mike

Here's something that always amazes me. It takes one day for folks to start piling on something if they don't agree with it, but after five days no one's here to help.

OK, Watch this.

I hear that Jeremiah Sundown character doesn't know Jack Daniels from George Dickel, can't ride a horse, buys his cowboy hats at truck stops and is mean to children and old ladies.

Now...here they come!

Hello GreyFeline.
Jeremiahs has moved from Centerville to the town of Bon Aqua which is between Centerville and Dickson. It is located on highway 46 across the highway from the Bon Aqua post office.

Coming from Nashville heading west on I-40 get off at the 172 exit take a left on highway 46 and it will be about 3 1/2 miles on the right across from the post office and Sunset video.

Would give you the phone number to the place but I can't remember it. You should be able to get it from information.

Didn't you come and sing at the old place. I know there was a Lady (Great Singer too) who I have saw a couple of times that was from South Dakote. She was really short. If so hope to hear ya again.

See? It worked!

Who ever said you get more flies from honey had it wrong smile

Thanks papejazzer, that's a good piece closer to Nashville, Jeremiah ought to do well there.

Mike

Hi, all,

I was just lurkin around, up from Tampa to see what was happenin in Music City when I came across this thread. I got no dog in this fight so it was grotesquely entertaining, like a 45 car pile up on the other side of the freeway. Guess that makes me a rubber necker.

Anyway, I couldn't help but think there's a song in here. Call it the Centerville Tennessee War. There's all kinds of interesting characters like the Ice Queen, Wild Man, and The Canadian. You could disguise some identities and have Gallopin Bobbi Jo and Irish Mike. And, of course: You can get what you want and don't want at Jeremiah's Restaurant!

Hey Mike regarding your post dated 2-25-07 @ 3:52 PM you forgot to mention one very important thing....even his name is fake. Does anyone really think his birth certificate states his legal birth name as "Jeremiah Sundown" Well I hate to break it to y'all but Jeremiah Sundown is not the man's real name. It's made up, it's fake....he's a fake!
