I got brave LOL Not soo much... this one has a copyright Please tell me what you think. (ps this is NOT me singing it!) I write country and pop. This was wriiten for MTSU's ASCAP sship award. Always & Forever" (Valerie Whitlock) Always & Forever V1 Why did I believe we could go back To the days when our love was young and new Still your eyes make my heart beat faster And I'll hold on to all the memories Pre-C I know that we must let this go Our loves not meant to be But first love has a way Of holding on persistently Chorus Always & Forever I will be... I'll be lovin' you Had to let it go It's over yes I know Still Always & Forever more... I'll be lovin' you V2 We've moved on The years have past us by And now and then I feel our love begin.. to fade But all it takes is a moment... just a glance And I feel all the love come rushing in (C) Bridge: I'm not holding on to the hope That we'll be together I know that our forever is long gone My heart will always hold a place.. just for you Always & Forever I will (c) (©1999) http://www.soundclick.com/val575

Hi Val,
Welcome to JPF! Thanks for sharing your song with us. Not to rain on your parade but in the future I would post this over on any of the three Lyric Boards (1,2 or 3) and/or over on the Mp3 Board. If you look around you'll see what I mean. There's a great group of people here so I hope you feel at home.
My opinion (and it is only mine) on your song is, hmmmm....let's see. I liked it. I thought it was better melodically over lyrically. I like when a vocalist uses passion and emotion and I think she tried to do this. It had a Toni Braxton kind of feel/sound to it. The title was a very popular hit from years back which can be a negative when pitching but not always a dead end. I felt it could have been just a bit faster w/much more instruments coming into the song probably around your pre-chorus or alittle after. I think with a possible Title change, alittle tweaking and more instruments (a fuller demo) this has potential. The melody is crucial so melodically your on your way.
Take care and hope you stick around.
Best, Lynn

Thanks for listening Lynn. I appreciate all of your feedback on my song. The "post here post there" stuff was definitely frustrating at first. I guess it just takes some getting used to. Some people seem to get really upset if a post "doesn't belong." Anyway LOL onto the music.
I do feel that the melody is also the strongest part of my song. I try to invision a video when I write... and I can see it with the lyrics. There was never a re-write on this song, partly because I was so rushed with the deadline (no real excuse) and after it was recorded I moved on. I will see if I can make it a little stonger lyrically and paint a better picture. I want that video to be GOOD!!! LOL
That's another reason I am writing so many country songs these days. I really enjoy the storytelling aspect of country music.
Ok. That's it. Hope to chat again soon! Val
