Here’s a personalized list of some of the more reputable venues in Bend. Feel free to ask me whatever questions you have regarding ANYTHING central Oregon. They are mainly Singer/songeriter, rock, eclectic... For a more extensive list visit www.tsweekly.com Mcmenamins Old St. Francis School (Solo or Band) 700 N.W. Bond Street Bend, OR 97701 541-382-5174 1624 N.W. Glisan Portland, OR 97209 Phone: (503) 223-0109 Fax: (503) 294-0837 The “Father Luke’s Room” is where bands play. There are always people in the near by fireside lounge that have to walk by the room, but other than that you need to promote to get people in there. Booking is actually done through the Portland office last time I checked (thus the Portland Info). They mostly book touring bands. Capacity about 150-200, just an empty square. Make sure to inquire if someone will be available to man the small mobile bar. I’m pretty sure there is no house PA. http://mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=98&category=LoThe Domino Room (Large draw Solo or Band) 51 NW Greenwood Bend, OR 97701 (541) 388-1106 Description: Larger, usually louder acts that come through town play here. This is a large square room with no seating and it costs to rent to put on a show. I wouldn’t really recommend it for small unknown acts, but it could be done with a lot of promotion. I’ve played there a couple times for group events, so it is possible. Venue is rented along with house PA I believe. Nice owners. Capacity approxamatley 500? Couldn’t find website. The Balcony of the Midtown (Domino Room) (band or solo) A much smaller more intimate venue just opened above the just mentioned venue. Same contact info, there is a bar open just for shows. Perfect for singer songwriter or small group. Unsure how it is rented. The Grove (Band most likely or Solo) 541-318-8578 1033 NW Bond Bend, OR 97701 Description: This place hosts an eclectic variety of small to larger acts with a guaranteed crowd most nights. Nice atmosphere, house PA. Chris usually does booking. Capacity about 80-130? http://www.thegrove411.net/Parrilla Grill (Solo or Band) 541-617-9600 635 NW 14th Bend, OR 97701 Description: This is a fun place that books outdoors and indoors and comes with a pretty good flux of audience stopping in to get a bite to eat and hang out. This might have been the most accommodating venue I’ve played in town as far as pay, food, security and such even though it’s a really small place. Indoor capacity approximately 20-25, outdoor more than 100 packed. Couldn’t find website. Bella Cucina (Solo or Band) 541-385-7774 450 SW Powerhouse Dr. Bend, OR 97702 Description: This is a great place to play for exposure on a weekend afternoon or even any evening outdoor show, not sure if they do indoor. It is in a trendy, new part of town called the Old Mill District which is the new downtown and always has a good variety of traffic from the shops and restaurants near by. They usually have solo acts but I’ve played right across the walk way from them for the Bite of Bend and see no reason why they wouldn’t book a band for outdoors, they might already. http://www.bellacucinaofsunriver.com/locations.htmBendistillery Martini Bar (Solo or small Band) 850 NW Brooks St. Bend, OR 97701 541-388-6868 Description: This place is downtown at the end of a breezeway and at the edge of the park and traffics a regular crowd regardless of night of the week. Same type of thing as Bella Cucina. A band could play outside, though I’m not sure if they put their solo acts inside or not. http://www.bendistillery.com/bnds_martini.htmlTower Theater (Band most likely) 835 NW Wall Bend, OR 97701 541-317-0700 Mailing address: P.O. Box 1378 Bend, OR 97709 Fax: 541-749-2731 Description: Beautiful venue downtown, but really hard to fill. At least $1200 - $1300 to rent, unless you worked into a special event like the art walk. Would need a lot of promotion. http://www.towertheatre.org/Les Schwab Amphitheater (band most likely) 520 SW Powerhouse Drive, #626 Bend, OR 97702 (541) 312-8510 info@bendconcerts.com Description: Huge acts play here, but there are events throughout the summer that they hire smaller and local acts for like “Bend Brew Fest” and “Summer Sundays”. Killer sound system. http://www.bendconcerts.com/ Press Info: The Source Weekly (Bends best local paper with pretty much the only event listings anyone reads) 704 NW Georgia Bend OR 97701 Phone: 541-383-0800 Fax: 541-383-0088 Email: info@tsweekly.com Website: www.tsweekly.comJeff Trainor (Arts & Culture Editor) Submissions email: calendar@tsweekly.com Calendar Deadline: 12pm Fridays (for next weekly edition that comes out each Wednesday) GO! Update: The name of "The balcony above Midtown" is "The Annex". My favorite...

This is an outstanding list of places Autumn. If everyone posted info like this it would lead to personal happiness for finding a venue. Thanks for posting that.

Great info, and I'll be out there later this year or early next.
You shame me. I'll try to work up something like it for my area.
thanks

Autumn, this is tremendous information. Thank you. (And yes, I wish it were available for more places.) I'm expecting to be in Bend for 3 days in mid-July for the annual city managers' conference (that's the day job), and it'd be nice to play somewhere while I was in town. Like the old proverb says, never stop selling... Joe www.soundclick.com/bands/7/joewrabek_music.htm
