Hi Folks,

Hopefully everyone is settled back into work. Ever have one of those Murphy's Law years? I told the story of my Ford Explorers brake lines rusting through leaving me without breaks and eventually down in a ditch to avoid a head on collision at a traffic intersection. After spending a fortune just to get the 2 busted lines fixed, I was told it was just a matter of time before other lines also broke. So it's not safe to drive and has been parked since then and will remain so until we can trade it in on something new. Then today, our other vehicle had to go into the shop as the Engine light came on last night so now we have a borrowed vehicle to get around. It's been one of those years where a day or two rarely goes by without something that costs unexpected money to set right or someone is ill or dies or is in peril in the family. Sometimes it just feels like you're living in Murphy's Law all around. (Not to mention the boards crashing.. ).

For those who saw read about the young girl who was 11 and blew us away on America's Got Talent, here's video clip to check out. Now when you can really scrutinize it and pick it apart, it isn't quite as jaw dropping the 5th time.. but for an 11 year old it's ridiculously good. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2Wq6CPLN9U

I'd love to hear what you think. Few adult performers I know can command a major stage like that. Certainly the American Idol contestants didn't surpass her. She's in Chris Young's league already as an 11 year old.

Does anyone out there watch Entourage? It's a fun show that I think is a very realistic peak behind fame/success where it's not all about something terrible happening or forced drama (i.e. gratuitous problems) but really gives an upbeat, though often sarcastic and funny, peak behind fame. If you have HBO, check it out. It's a taste of all type of major fame where in the end, your friends are likely still the same and life changes much less than you'd think.

We're working on finalizing a venue for the music awards. There are some contract issues and hidden expenses that have popped up that are problematic to our Hollywood Venue. So we're hoping we can get past them.

Hi, Brian,

I just watched the video of Bianca Ryan. She is awesome! I agree that her voice and performance are amazing...!!!!!

I believe that there is a very unique combination of talents here - not just a great, full voice - but fantastic stage presence, a gracious attitude, emotional intensity ( hard for kids that young to really do well with songs like that), good moves and great volume.
She's got a very good sense of rhythm, phrasing, and an uncanny ability to produce an unusually mature tone and sound for someone so young. I remember thinking the same thing about Charlotte Church's voice as well.

I really hope that she gets good, solid technical vocal training to protect her voice; sometimes when very young singers with such big voices sing often at that high intensity, permanent vocal damage happens- due to overuse...and stress on vocal cords that are not fully developed. Childrens' vocal cords do not have the elasticity and durability that adult vocal cords have.
Hopefully, she'll the necessary training to maintain that incredible sound!

Thanks for posting the link...
I am very impressed !

Emily

Gave me goosepimples listening to her.....

I'm just hoping the next time she sings...
they still allow her to look like a child...
and not turn her into looking like 21...

What amazing talent....and what poise....

Thanks for sharing this Brian....
am going to share it with the family...
since they enjoyed American Idol so much...

best....
Kaley

Our Address (which is always at the top of every newsletter) is:

5327 Kit Dr.
Indianapolis, IN 46237

After our quick start of 4 donations totally 178 dollars (will be posting names soon) we've hit the brakes and no more have come in. (So my plans of early retirement will have to be put on hold).

Hi Brian,

I'll be sure to check out the link to that little girl's performance as soon as I get to my other computer.

By now, you should have received a check from me. I am not surprised, unfortunately, that more folks haven't donated. Lotta folks are quick to complain when things aren't going perfectly...like when the board went down...but coughing up something to help with the solution is another issue entirely. I am saddened by that lack of concern. Let's see..if you charged $10/song/lyric or $25/cd submitted to the awards next year..you'd cover a LOT of expenses!!

Hugs,
Bobbie
