Hi Folks,
Well I was supposed to spend the day with family at my nieces Graduation party, but instead had a brush with a serious accident and was left stranded in a field for a while before getting a ride back to my house and sitting in Indiana instead of Ohio the rest of the day. Ever driven an SUV that suddenly loses 100% of it's brakes while heading directly towards a busy intersection against the light? Yeah.. it's not fun. Some Mario Andretti moves.. a jump of the curb and a ride through a field later (in the pouring rain to add insult to injury) and I was okay.. but it was no a pleasant ride. Apparently the brake line blew out and all the fluid leaked out just before I was getting on the highway.. at highway speeds having no brakes could have been deadly.. so I lucked out. So my truck is in a field and there it will stay until Monday when the shops open back up. Meanwhile, I'm just working the lyric votes that are already pouring in and finishing up the article for Songwriters Market and getting ready to do the Asian category.
Never boring..
Brian

You may want to get that new van a little sooner, than later. I'm glad you're okay! My wife trashed our van back in April, so I understand how shocking a scare like that can be to your system.

You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music

SO glad you are OK!! Must of been really scary in the moment. I hope you take some time this week to rest -- it's important to allow your system to recover from the stress.
You've reminded me again how precious life is. Take good care, Vikki

Brian, Your body is telling you... "take a break"! Your car is telling you... "get new brakes"! Sometimes we all need... a break! Glad you didn't get hurt! What a day! Vikki's right, I hope you took her advice and chilled for awhile. That would be enough to have my nerves tied in knots. I'm glad you're ok.
