A sunny 75 degree prediction for Christmas Day, prompted me to repost this one. Merry Christmas all my friends at JPF Ms Willie
We Never Have A White Christmas In Texas Written by Willie Atwell
We never have a white Christmas in Texas We don’t know what it is to deal with snow We watch it on the news, underneath our skies of blue... But we never have a white Christmas in Texas
We hang up our stockings on the cactus Put blinking lights on all our oil wells Our spurs are shining brighter than tinsel And our horses manes are full of jingle bells, but...
We never have a white Christmas in Texas We don’t know what it is to deal with snow We watch it on the news, underneath our skies of blue... But we never have a white Christmas in Texas
We wrap up our taters in tin foil We throw our big ol’ steaks on the grill Pour egg nog over ice, we really think it’s nice... Cause we never have a white Christmas in Texas
Our friends are coming down to party at Christmas They call and ask us what they should pack We say just bring your shorts, and your racket for the tennis court Cause we never have a white Christmas in Texas
They don’t know what we mean, when we say bring your sun screen..... Cause we never have a white Christmas in Texas

Hidee Willie! Cute Christmas lyric! I know what you mean cause we have to turn on the air conditioner just to have a fire in the fireplace at Christmas! ------------------ Rebecca ------------------------ Relating to the rewriting of lyrics --"Son, it ain't done until its cut--and then it ain't DONE 'til its a hit" ------------------

I liked the wrapping the taters in tin foil. Reading that reminded me it was a long time ago in Texas where I last saw that done. Miss those oil wells too. Well, not really but they almost substitute for waterfalls with their steady rythym.
Great pictures! And you are right, even though we had several snows in East Texas where I grew up. We never did have a white Christmas. We'd all lurk out the window at 2 am while rolling papers though if we ever did get some flakes bigger than rice crispies! Once it REALLY snowed. It was one of those rare years where the Cold from Canada gets greedy and eats up the southern sun. My mother was all giddy like a kid peering through the frosty glass panes. We saw flakes bigger than corflakes that year! Thanks for bringing that memory back! Oh, and I do like those inner rhymes.
I absolutely HAVE to get packing now for our trip to Louisiana!

"Northern Friends", Great suggestion! Maybe I could sing Yankee Friends just to my Brothers to tick them off hee hee. They call me their Red Neck Sister, I call them my Yankee Brothers. (Affectionately of course lol)

Hi Stan, My smilie has to wear shades today it's so sunny lol. Hope your Brother enjoys these lyrics. I was born in Dallas myself, like the country life around Austin now though and would never go back. If he like it, I will send you a sound file of this one for him. Hope Santa brings everything on your list, Merry Christmas to you and your Family my friend. Gotta check your CD out, guess I missed it.
Hugs, MZ Willie
