This is held in the other Carolina but it's close enough for you SC folks to come. Just washed your guitar and can’t do a thing with it? Love to sing? Want to make music with women in a beautiful mountain setting? Then come to Women in Harmony, a music camp for women of all musical abilities July 22 -- 24 in the mountains southwest of Asheville, NC at The Mountain ( www.mountaincenters.org). You’ll find lots of wonderful workshops (guitar, mandolin, drum, songwriting, singing and more), song circles, and an open mike PLUS fabulous meals, comfortable rooms, great views, and a pond for swimming. Nationally touring artists Jamie Anderson, Elaine Townsend, Phyllis Free and Mary Hocks are our instructors. They’ve played at the National Women’s Music Festival, the New Orleans Jazz Festival and other venues as well as teaching at Duke, The National Music and Health Conference, and many festivals. Register at www.mountaincenters.org/WomeninHarmony_RegForm.pdf or by calling 828-526-5838. More info at www.jamieanderson.com/harmony.htm.
