Hi Folks,
We are starting to plan our dates for the 2005 Just Plain Folks Roadtrips. Before we add cities, we need to know there are enough local/area members to justify setting up a local showcase and/or meeting. To justify a showcase, we generally require at least 20 interested artists to perform. (Our Roadtrip shows usually average 30-40 performers per show in most cities). To justify a meeting or Roadtrip stop of any kind, we need no less than 10 members interested, which is also the minimum number to have a local chapter. If you'd like us to stop in this area in 2005, please post a note here and let us know. If there's enough interest indicated, we will add a stop. We will be filming a documentary this year on the road and will include a few interviews of local artists as we tour, so if you want us to include your music scene, now is the time to say hi and speak up!

Hi Brian, I don't know if this qualifies as a road trip stop or not. There will be at least, (or only) 3 members performing at this. But in response to your question from the "Music Festival in Upstate SC" topic, I thought I'd also post a reply here to answer your question about the date. June 11th has been set for the Upstate SC Music Festival and I have added more info to the original post on that topic. If you're gonna be in the area we'd love to have you there. Thanks.

Rob,
I think that would be a great idea for Brian to consider in planning his roadtrip dates. If we can get him through both Columbia and Greenville for his roadtrip, we can canvas a great deal of our areas here and expose more people to JPF who didn't know about the organization.
Thanks for the reminder!

Hi Montez Thanks. I thought if Brian was at the fest he could get on stage and say a few words about JPF. I checked the road trip forum and he may be in the Northeast instead. Either way, as KC would say, "we gonna have a good time". If you don't already have plans and want to come, let me know and I'll send you the info. Have a great day!

Brian,
I recognize about 3 of the people/bands on the list.
If it is possible to have them get in contact with me or vice-versa, that would be great! It would be a plus for planning a showcase when you visit during your roadtrip. I'm certain a few of the members from the awards would be eager to be part of a group effort.

Travis Allison Band are from Charleston. Mt Pleasant and Isle of Palms to be exact. They are real good friends of mine and an excellent group that has what it takes. You can reach 'em at TABand@aol.com or www.travisallison.band. Great to see you on Board, Kevin! Glad you're back in action on the music writing scene here! Releived is a better choice of word actually. I'll keep you Posted. ------------------ Jeff www.jeffsblues.com

I've got the Travis Allison Band listed and hear alot of great reviews about them. Got them linked on the website as well. Looks like we've got people still yet to join the fold out there. If we can get even 50% of these lists to join in (I want them all to be part, honestly) we could have one heck of a showcase when Brian comes through here. ------------------ Montez Simmons Director, Carolina Music Industry Coalition www.carolinamusicindustrycoalition.orgJPF-South Carolina (Columbia)
