Though I am fairly new to the JPF community, I have had the opportunity to talk pretty extensively with Mark, our coordinator, and Paul Peterson of Big House Pete about how the community works and what it can be used for. I understand that JPF is a vehicle that can be used to help take steps toward success in the biz. People do not understand this, and I think often expect too much - generally speaking, for record producers to miraculously land in a local bar to hear their music and sign them. It doesn't happen.

Why can't we all make a little more effort to promote Just Plain Folks in the Pittsburgh Area? My band which hosts an open stage every Friday night at Vi's in Vandergrift will begin promoting the community for the right reasons. I hope that we can soon one day have more than 10 active members so that we can have Brian and company stop in our neck of the woods. We can make the opportunity but we all need to do our part.

Mark, you mentioned to me that you're working on a flyer for JPF - whenever you have that please email it to me and I will use it to promote as well. In the meantime I will be using word of mouth to promote the community the best that I can.

After all, JPF is a free community that can be used to help anyone. You just have to know why you're using it and how to use it properly. I want to help make people understand this. For all of you out there in Pittsburgh, why don't we set a goal of having 20 true active members this time next year? Maybe before...

Have a good day [Linked Image])
