Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen in Concert

Master songwriter and guitarist Steve Gillette and multi-talented Cindy Mangsen (guitar, banjo, concertina) are coming to Granville, Ohio on Sunday, April 24th for a Songwriting Workshop and Concert. Both will take place at the First Baptist Church of Granville, at the corner of Broadway and Main in downtown Granville. The Songwriting Workshop (SOLD OUT) is scheduled from 1:30 to 5:00 ($25) and the concert from 7:30 to 9:30 ($15; children 12 and under, $10). There will be a coffee, tea and dessert bar at the concert intermission.

These internationally renowned folk/ Americana performers have delighted audiences across North America and Europe with their music, rich vocal harmonies, outstanding musicianship, warmth and humor. They have been featured on National Public Radio's All Things Considered and PBS's Mountain Stage. Gillette is a nationally known songwriter, whose folk/Americana song, Darcy Farrow, has been recorded by more than 100 artists, including Ian & Sylvia and John Denver. He has had songs recorded by Garth Brooks, Nanci Griffith, Waylon Jennings, Anne Murray, Linda Ronstadt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Don Williams and many more. Film credits include writing and performing the theme for M.G.M.'s The Outfit, Disney's The Pond, The Grass is Greener, Summer Run, and Door to Door. He is the author of the widely used songwriting book, Songwriting and the Creative Process, and has taught numerous workshops and seminars on songwriting, guitar theory and record production. He has been a featured performer at many festivals, including The International Songwriters Festival at Frutigen, Switzerland, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, The Vancouver Folk Festival, and is a director and long time participant in The Kerrville Folk Festival.

Cindy is known for her masterful interpretation of traditional ballads, for her compelling voice, and guitar, banjo and concertina flavorings of their songs.
