Okay here it is. Some of the factors in finalizing a decision as to the venue for our 2006 Holiday Party are of course capacity, location, terms, performance capabilities, menu, affordability and the condition of the venue itself. Please disregard any other posts and e-mails as this is the final on the venue and the details are as follows.
Date and Time... Sunday December 3rd 2006 3:-9:PM Set up 2:PM Meet and Greet 3:-4:PM Presentations 4-5:PM maybe later... Entertainment 5:PM ----- Buffet Opens at 5:PM also
Location... "Rice" Sushi, Steak and Seafood Restaurant and Lounge.7525 W. Hillsborough Ave Tampa 33615 813-889-7766 (Corner of Hillsborough and Hanley) Dinner buffet opens at 5pm and includes Steak, seafood, sushi, vegetables, rice, etc. Price per person $23.00 This venue does have a full bar available. We have the main dining room and performance area.
Why... To celebrate The Tampa Bay Chapter of Just Plain Folks 4th consecutive year as one of the most active chapters in JPF history and each other.
What to expect... Meet and network with some of Tampa Bay's best songwriter/performers. Certificates of accomplishment will be presented for individual achievement to those present who RSVP in a timely manor. Please RSVP ASAP so that we aren't scrambling at the last minute to prepare your certificate. Horsefeathers who is the chapter band headed up by Dan Copeland are in rehearsal and will back multiple performers on their original pieces. Individuals wishing to perform will also be welcome to do so, time permitting. Anyone who does perform is expected to be sober, tuned and well rehearsed at showtime due to time limitations.
Gifts... If you can, please bring a wrapped musical type gift for the gift pool. As you donate a gift a numbered ticket will be given to you to guarantee a gift in return. If you are bringing children please bring a gift for them with their name on a gift tag. We dont want the kids to feel left out. Additional generic gifts are welcome like wrapped boxes of candy so that no one leave empty handed.
Attire... This is a Holiday Party at a nice venue so please dress appropriately. Last year Doc Lovett and Jak Kelly even wore ties. They were very dapper, thank you gentlemen.
Please note that members are expected to bring spouses and or dates but please not both. Children are welcome but unruly munchkins will be put to work in the kitchen.
This is a chance to celebrate the many friendships and colaborations born of this chapter. Please join us. Sinceley, Al Alvarez Tampa Bay Chapter Coordinator and Mr. Jerry Jakala Tampa Bay Chapter Co-Cordinator

My girl friend is on vacation with my wife (joke)so I will bring my mother. I think I will have to clean the dust & rust off of my good duds & polish my tatoo's but I will be there. I don't own a tie so don't expect that much of a dress up. This is going to b a blast! Jerry

Yeah, my girlfriend will be out of town too, so just me and Chris this time. Ha, ha!! Totally kidding. I'm pretty sure Chris and I will be there unless we desperately need more rehearsal time that day for our CD Release Show (which is December 5th at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Hint, hint.) Hope to see you there. -Sheila ------------------ Sheila Kirsten Hughes Band - www.skhughes.com "the voice of a 'blues angel,' her emotion captivates youa shining star!" Sheila and Chris, It wouldn't be the same without you two. You can always debut a song or two from your new CD Perspectives at the Holiday Party and make that last minute push for the CD release party on December 5th at the Performing Arts Center..(Double,Hint, Hint...)We will definitely be there. Keep Strummin' Al and Beautiful Becky

Helene, Aidan, and I will be there... Dressed appropriately, of course. Tough to play the drums with a tie on (Never been in a wedding band - ever - but there is a first time for everything!) but Dan, if anyone wants some drums with me backing Horsefeathers up I'll be there without a kit - just sticks (although Mikey will be there so there will be a couple of drummers there!) I am looking forward to whatever arises from the mix of incredible talent in the chapter...I'm down for whatever. I will be doing some Piano tunes from my 3rd CD so I will bring my dig. piano (88 keys) for Horsefeathers or anyone to use if needed. Cheers! ------------------ Alex Wolfe Parnes/Canis Lupus Productions www.canislupusmusic.com [This message has been edited by CanisLupus (edited 10-31-2006).]

Alex, You don't really have to wear a tie but I just figured I would use those two Rockers as an example. I could however see you in a tie, maybey paisley kinda Peter Max style. Just kidding, but remember in the words immortal Rock-N-Roll legends ZZ-Top "Every Womans Crazy Bout A Sharp Dressed Man"! Glad to see your gonna make it. Kathy, Yeah! It will be good to see you. Glad your making it also. We miss you. Al Thanks for chiming in and RSVPing so quickly everyone.I got and RSVP also through my personal e-mail from gutarist Terry French. He is coming with a date and maybe bandmates. Let's keep em coming Al www.tampabayindies.com

Hi Kids, I'm surprised you remembered the suit and tie thing! Hope it doesn't set the bar to high. LOL I will do my very best to be there, in some matter of finery, but seeing as how I just lost my job (again) well, we shall see what we shall see. In any event, Hope whatever holidays you celebrate are Happy. Jak Kelly

I've been missing my JPF pals alot. Timing has just not worked out very well these past several months.
Here's wishing everyone a great end to 2006 and every success in 2007.
All the best,

Sorry it took me so long to rsvp. I just started a new middle school chorus teaching job and I've been pretty busy. I need to get back in touch with the message board and my fellow Just Plain Folks. I miss you all. See you Dec. 3rd.

Would love to be there, but I'm up here in the great white north (Chicago) for the next 8 months. If ever there was work in Tampa....... Anyway, I hope everyone has fun and enjoys the Holiday season.
p.s. I just played my first gig up here at a large coffeehouse near DePaul University, big crowd, over 100 people really listening to the music, and on a Monday night. This is good in spite of the cold.

I'll be thinking about you all when it's below zero up here on Christmas and we have knee deep snow! I see truckers often where I work and I always ask kindly for them to take some of our weather with them back to you and send some sunshine back up to us! well that explains my ignorance...I have no talent with musical instruments. I'm a lyricist with a couple of lucky recordings because a friend was kind enough to give me some music tracks he created. Thanks for letting me know what axe means!
