Hi Folks,
I am getting tons of emails about the next awards process. We haven't decided on dates or format. It's grown so large we have to make some changes to accomodate the growth and also to cover the costs. We've never made money on the awards (in fact we've lost money every year) but with the growth we can't risk the losses that would come with exponential growth and I doubt I can do the awards appropriately for free going forward. We're working on ideas that will balance being able to pay the costs without losing the diversity and talent that has been sending stuff in for free over the last 4 awards programs.
Stay tuned for more info when it's available.

Brian, That sounds good. Once you get some ideas, or potential options, would you mind posting them here to get some input? Maybe take an informal vote to see which option/s most folks might best relate too, etc.? I'm thinking something very simple like $1.00 per song entry (or there abouts) to help pay for the whole process. Regardless, I agree it would make sense to charge a reasonable entry fee, probably based on quantity of songs entered. After all, someone has to listen to each song and process and handle each song (or CD) separately, depending on the genre it falls into, and on it goes. A small fee per song might also cause folks to more carefully pick their best material rather use a "shot gun" approach. Ah well, just some food for thought! Thanks, Michael B. ------------------ The OUTLOOK may often appear bleak, but the UPLOOK is always bright! [This message has been edited by Michael Borges (edited 02-25-2005).]
