The JPF awards were the greatest event I've attended in a long, long time! I want to thank Brian & Linda for EVERYTHING they do. My favorite part of the night was Brian going on (and rightfully so) about all the work Linda does and the crowd gave her (and rightfully so) a standing ovation for it and as soon as it dies down Brian says turns to her and says, "Can you hand me those other awards there?" TOO FUNNY! I want to thank EVERYONE in attendance for accepting comedy music! I, of course, had no doubts that you would be anything but kind, but it's very cool to get such an amazing positive response to a genre that most only conisder a joke (while the artists take VERY seriously)! SKREW THE GRAMMYS AND THEIR COMEDY MUSIC EXCLUDING RULES! Congrats to all the winners! I was blown away by all the talent! I've added a video of Throwing Toasters performance to the TT web site! I also put up some photos taken at the show! If anyone has any other TT photos from the show, send them on over! Again, the evening was amazing and I won't forget it....till next year! ROCK ON! Grant P.S. I love Jody Whitesides. ------------------ -- Check out www.throwingtoasters.com [This message has been edited by Toasterboy (edited 03-05-2003).]

He certainly was there, and I was honestly shocked at how young he looked. Isn't he fifty-something? By the way Joe, being as geographically close as we are, we ought to hang out at some point. The western Mass JPF chapter is meeting on thursday in Easthampton... I'll be there-- you in? ------------------ Shandy Lawson http://www.shandylawson.com [This message has been edited by Shandy (edited 03-11-2003).]

We should get If Again, Eric Colville, Spookie Daly Pride and Jennifer Tefft together for a rock show somewhere in MA. Since all 4 of you are near each other. Do any of you know each other?

I sat with Joe Walsh at the awards banquet. He is really cool. We told my dad that and had him going - it was funny. I love If Again's CD -
I am going to NY for my 16th Birthday and hope to see Joe and his band. It will be fun.

Sounds like this was one helluva show! Seth Horan emailed me and said that the show rocked beyond belief and that you guys all outdid yourselves this year. What I LOVE to see is events and organizations like JPF getting better and bigger every year. Once upon a time the Oscars started in someone's living room and a total of 9 awards were handed out. I see JPF's Awards program growing just like the Oscars did! It is a testament to the dedication of everyone who organizes JPF events and is involved in them that the prestige factor is growing and that the event is becoming a 'not to be missed' type of thing. I'm so happy you guys had a wonderful experience. I was blown away last year by the magic that was sparkling in the room! I can only imagine what magic was circling around this year! Hope to get out to next years awards and meet up with some of you awesome people again. Brian- I'm thinking you might need a vacation with some of those fancy umbrella decorated drinks at this point Thanks for all your hard work. You're a trooper and we really appreciate you and JPF. Nat PS Amber- I heard great things about your performance... keep at it gyrl! ------------------ I'm Just Plain Me

Any more amazing and the JPF awards will be too good for primetime TV.
I really liked all the performers. So varied too. I hope to go again next year.

I spoke with Music Connection and Singer Magazine, both who are doing articles on the awards. I sent them some pics so hopefully some members will get in there as well. It's pretty cool that some attention is being paid to the winners. I just supplied an entertainment attorney with contact info on 22 nominees who he heard during the judging process.
And I just spoke with Derek Sivers about this year's entries. He's going to participate again, and we were working on a way to keep us from getting buried with CD's even more than last year. We think we've figured out a way to narrow it a bit without excluding people.
Stay tuned!

I've been telling everyone that it was like having the Grammy's, but for the Indie Artist and was WAY better than the televised Grammys. It was very cool! I won't miss next year. ------------------ Larry www.audibleresponse.com

Can't wait for next year, I really think we'll have a bigger crowd because of all the great reviews from this year's show!
