The 5 JPF nominations are just the icing on a fantastic 3rd quarter for Hammondbeat. We recently completed 2 sub-licensing deals in Japan, with a Link Quartet compilation (the band getting the aforementioned nom's) that will sport songs across their catalog + some unreleased gems, and brand new signing Phat Fred will have a day-and-date release with our version in the US. Each will feature a unique bonus track - and will be available from P-Vine Records in November. In addition, we've established distribution in Japan for all of our titles as exports, with a featured promotion coming up in February/March throughout the Tower Records network (90 stores) - the largest single retailer in Japan. Hammondbeat was included in the iTunes Facebook promotion with 2 songs. "My Toyota" from The Nelsonics' 2nd album "Ruins of Rome", and "Deliquesced By Devonshire" which is featured on both JPF nominated albums Link Quartet's "Italian Playboys" and soundtrack "Wilson Chance: The Sound of Danger". A seriously sweet 1-2 punch for these projects. Just today, we've been informed that 5 songs have been selected from our catalog to be included in a documentary about pop-art sensation SHAG (who recently did anniversary art for The Pink Panther DVD's and Disneyland's 50th, and has graced more than a few CDs in recent years). I can say that I've bought more than a few of SHAG's prints, so this has been as much a fan-boy dream as a great thing for the label and bands. The film has just recently been submitted to Sundance for consideration (final selection in December). We will announce the songs selected as soon as the final edit is done. Anyway, we're on pins and needles here until the big event on November 4th. Peace and groove, Kahlil & Ryan www.hammondbeat.com
A funk and groove music revolution! Dedicated to the bands and fans of the organ sound.
