Well, OK most of them were running away in pain as fast as they could but, we did have a good time playing for all the Twin Cities Marathon Runners today. And although my fingers hurt and I broke a string after 3+ hours of playing without a break, I'm sure that a number of the runners are feeling a little more pain than I am. I'm always impressed with the folks who decide to run marathons. It was a fun time and we did get alot of positive feedback from the other volunteers there and all the folks cheering the runners on and from a number of the runners themselves ------------------ Steve West Steve's Website [This message has been edited by Steviewest (edited 10-02-2005).]

I know some guys from the Indianapolis Songwriters Assoc. that did that for the Indy Mini-Marathon...as a participate in the Mini (a very fat and slow participate) - the music was cool for the atmosphere...so you were noticed and appreciated even if nobody told you that...

That's awesome! Congratulations! So where do you play at a marathon? Is it part of a nearby festival, or do you set up at the starting line? My dad ran marathons, but I've never actually been to one. ------------------ Jennifer Layton Independent Music Journalist and Resource ~~~~~~~~~ Review Editor and Coordinator, Indie-Music.com www.indie-music.comwww.jenniferlayton.com www.myspace.com/jenniferlayton

Jennifer, They set us up at the 16 mile marker right next to the street. They rented a small generator for us that was acually pretty quiet but we had a really long power cord so is was far enough away from us anyway. It was great getting all the thumbs up from the runners as they pasted by and it was also great to be able to call out to runners that I knew over the PA system ------------------ Steve West Steve's Website
