Bandaid Man Patricia Baker, BMIÓ2004
My new puppy ate my costume And, tonight is Halloween Momma told me not to panic That she would make it up to me
I won’t get to be the devil Without a pitchfork or a cape The sun’s about to set on us Trick or treating will have to wait
Chorus: She said I could be Bandaid Man ‘Cause I’m covered from head to toe I’ve got bandaids on my bo-bo’s Mom said they’d chase away the ghosts Halloween could use a hero That everyone can understand She said let’s go trick or treating ‘Cause you’re my little Bandaid Man.
She said bandaids give off powers They always make me feel so good They chase away evil spirits And, witches of the neighborhood
She’s got extras in her pocket In case I trip and scrape my knees She knows how I get excited With all that sugar inside me
Repeat Chorus
Bridge: I’m an accident about to happen I stay black and bruised I’m her little warrior With bandaids stuck to me like glue
Repeat Chorus

"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Hi Tricia, This is a cutie for a kid's song. I am wondering of there is a word left out in this line? She said let’s trick or treating Seems like it needs the word GO inserted in there. Only other thing that sorta did a bit of a disconnect for me was that in V2, Mom is saying Halloween will have to wait...but the chorus has them going Trick or Treating after all. Maybe you could just say... And it's so hard for me to wait. After all, Halloween is a day and time waits for no one. It is the trick or treating that might have to be put on hold for a few minutes. JMO, of course. Those were the only things that came to me. I think kids would relate to the bandaid thing. Some kids just seem born with booboos. Hugs, Bobbie

Hi, Ms. Bobbie. I meant to insert the word "go" in there and trick or treating (rather than Halloween) was really what I meant. Good catch. Morning, Calvin. I can't carve a pumpkin or a turkey without needing bandaids. My son was always accident prone, too!!! He kept bandaids on all extremities bout half his life. ------------------ "Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you will land among the stars." -- Les Brown http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/triciabakermusic.htm
