LOL, they just can't help it.
Folks, I genuinely appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers, but these first two posts, from Kaley and John, sort of point out the difference in mindset between the sexes.
John just wants me to get well. Kaley, Harriet and Bobbie on the other hand want me to "be better". Health is not enough ...nooo ... they want good manners, a better disposition, and perhaps if I were a bit more helpful around the house.
I gotta tell you honest, John has a better chance.<g>
I am feeling a good bit better and go back to the doc today. I expect him to turn me loose, despite Bobbie's protestations.

Truth is, the womenfolk just hate to see their men down for a short count when the trash needs to be taken out. Get well soon, my friend, there's a whole lot of p'up wood yet to be cut and tick hounds beggin' for your attention.

Hey Dawgie, I made such good chicken noodle soup this morning, I just know a bowl of this brew would fix you right up. I had that stuff you've got and lost all my strength. A big bowl of soup, an antibiotic drip and a couple of hugs from Bobbie should have you ornery as ever soon. I'm thinking about you and tonight when I talk to the big man, I will mention your name. I love you guys!! Dear Bobbie, Skates will not help. Just try to keep your cool and when he sleeps take a nap. PS__ You can cuddle. Pneumonia isn't catchy. My prayers are with you both as always. Well glad to see you are on your way to recovery Dawggie, But don't overdo it. Pneumonia can be very misleading. That might not be solid ice your skating on yet. Take it slow and give yourself (and that ice) a little more time to build up strength. Relapses are a royal pain. ------------------ Harriet http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/harrietamesmusic.htm

Hope you're back on your feet again soon, Dawg! Take Harriet's advice and take it slow ... we don't want to hear about any relapses!!

Dawg,
Glad you're feeling better. Are ya back to growlin' at Bobbie yet? Are you sure it's pneumonia? COuld it be possible that Bobbie overdid the flea & tick spray?
Anyway, just stay low until you're back sturdy on all 4 paws. Take care!
Alan

Hey Dawg, Just wanted to say take care of yourself buddy. Oh...and watch out for doctors. And wives. Did I forget anything? I prescribe a healthy diet of 'Absolutely Julia' and 'Perpetual Motion' hobiwan Be good to yourself and twice that good to your wife and you'll be a healthy guy. (that's what my wife tells me anyway...)

Kaley, you are so sweet! Dawg, got some chicken soup for you!
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Kaley's message (#1) scared the hell out of me. Jeeze!!!
Dawg..Sir.... I and about a thousand others (including your creditors I'm sure) are breathing easier that your are getting better. That bug is feisty and tough to get rid of. But then it never met up with you now did it?
Hah... It didn't have a chance. YOu probably stayed up all night singing your songs till it decided it had enough and left for good.
Here's to you SIR and here's to many more years of songwriting.
All the best....Paul

I used to have a sheep dog that used to put on a limp to get a bit of attention, or if it knew it did something wrong, hoping I would go easy on it. So. What's he been up to Bobbie? Or, are you fussing over them dang cats too much? Serious Cobber. Good to hear you are on the mend. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

Howdy Graham, In all honesty, I suspect you hit the nail on the head. I was gone for two days working up in Kentucky on a grant and came home to find the guy totally incapacitated. Couldn't breathe...which is very scary. Dr wanted to keep him in the hospital but Dawg wasn't amenable to that..so he opted for some potent drugs. Hey, he was a child of the 60's. What can I say? It was pretty interesting that when he was so sick...one of the cats climbed up on the bed with him and wouldn't leave till he started getting better. Who knows what goes on with animals? Just glad he is on the mend. All folks' good wishes are most appreciated. Bobbie

Bobbie
Exactly, when Joyce was having an asthma attack, and i was at the pharmacy getting emergency meds, baby cat got up on the bed and struck a buddah pose and wouldn't budge. When I got home, she didn't rush to greet me like she usually does, she stayed achored on the bed, and it wasn't until Joyce said, I'm feeling better now, did she venture off. Amazing critters!!!!!!!

G'day Dawg. Gee I seem to be the last one to wish you a speedy recovery. I have had me mind on the things you told me bout me last song and the days turned into night and even when I lay me head down to sleep the answers I needed to make me song better just wouldn't come and neither did much sleep.Anyhow, I done rewrote the whole darn thing and I just posted it now. I hope you like me song better now and I wish you a complete and speedy recovery with me best wishes too, Ray in Australia.
