Honor and Glory
Paddy grew up in a part of Belfast town where ev'ry pint toasted a curse to England's crown midnight meeting at the Church of Mary's Heart Paddy crossed himself and swore to do his part he left something in the booth of a London pub it became a carnival of screams and blood Paddy thought he was doing good by doing harm ten RAF pilots died and the barkeep lost an arm
for honor and glory for homeland and God may the lawless find mercy not judgement in the sod
most who said the revolution would have its day got older, found jobs and just faded away but Paddy walked foggy sidestreets seeking heaven's will he learned truth leads men to life and not to kill
for honor and glory for homeland and God may the lawless find mercy not judgement in the sod
that place in London had long past been rebuilt and Paddy's gut was a bottomless pit of guilt that night a one-armed man pulled draughts in that pub Paddy wiped a tear, and drank his beer then left a note of sorrow in his mugg
for honor and glory for homeland and God may the lawless find mercy not judgement in the sod
