Hi friends, In November last year George Stock and I collaborated in this song. Please have a listen and read his fantastic lyrics. Please comment. Thanks. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/stanloh Better Late Than Never Copyright Lyrics by George Stock, Music by Stanley Loh, November 2, 2002 VERSE 1 We hear the sound of gunfire, See it stain the streets, Long to jail the triggerman, To find the missing key. We've probed the minds of brilliant men, And still he's on the loose, Now it's time to pray for peace on earth, And bind him with the Truth. CHORUS Better late than never, better late than never, Call on God, the world won't last forever, Get the best of His love, Leave sorrow in the dust, Don't hesitate, it's better late than never. VERSE 2 We hear the talk of hellfire, Fear our souls are lost, Long to flee the netherworld, To flee the flaming cross, We've scaled the peak of human thought, And failed to close the pit, Now it's time to pray for faith and grace, So we can live in bliss. CHORUS Better late than never, better late than never, Call on God, the world won't last forever, Get the best of His love, Leave sorrow in the dust, Don't hesitate, it's better late than never. TAG Don't wait until you're at a loss for words, Don't wait until the day of Love's return, CHORUS Better late than never, better late than never, Call on God, the world won't last forever, Get the best of His love, Leave sorrow in the dust, Don't hesitate, it's better late than never. It's better late than never ------------------ Having Fun!!!! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/stanlohmusic.htm

I have to say I'm quite pleasantly surprised to see this George Stock lyric and mp3 file up here....I've worked with George and he's another great one to work with....I fully intended to back working and cowriting with him , but this brain radiaiton has been the pits and stopped a lot of my accomplishing what ambition led me to do.....Thanks for sharing and tell Mr. George I send my very best wishes, Please.... ------------------ http://www.mp3.com/sharon_irene_wells

Stan I really like the chord change in the chorus that sets it apart very well. You did a nice job on this. One little thing Stan and you can mention it to George and see what he thinks.... The very opening line... "We hear the sound of gunfire, See it stain the streets," I think you should sing...'see blood stain the streets' It comes across as more forceful to me and doesn't get readers to wondering how gufire could stain anything. Obviously I understand but I think that little change would be good for this...great lyric otherwise. I really didn't understand Sharon's comment but say good job to George for me too. Hi Sharon, Thanks for listening. You know, when one receives a great lyric like this one the "task" (actually, a better word is"pleasure") of writing a melody is sooo enjoyable. George did a real good job. I am just hoping out there in the Internet people think I delivered a comparable product. I didn't quite understand your statement about "brain radiation". As I write I am just hoping my interpretation of those two words does not mean that it's something that has befallen you. Thanks Sharon. Eric, Hey guy, thanks for your comments. It's been a few months since I played this song, so I've forgotten the chords already. I'm stealing some moments to tend to my hobby at work, so I'll have to check it out when I get home. Seemed to me a pretty straight forward chord progression. I too had the same comment about gunfire staining the streets...but then I thought, hmmm...perhaps it's the bullet holes! I've not asked George. I will copy this correspondence and ask him. Beautiful piece of Christian writing. Makes you stop right there in your tracks and think. My only Christian song so far is called My Man Jesus. It's getting a little buzz. You can hear it if you want at www.tonos.com/jnatherson Have a great day

Stan and Eric....my comments about brain radiation had "nothing" to do with this song 'cept just reminded me of how I've wished I had more strength and time to do some more of George Stock's lyrics....that's all it meant......I really only have one of his up and demoed - "Love Can" - that song has had such "comeback" power on my mp3 site......it'll slip way down into the hundreds in the category it's in and then next thing I know it's back up into the top 10 or at least the top 20 for a while....it's just been so amazing that such a neutral "inspirational" song could be like a yo-yo on the mp3 charts! I owe all that to the "lyric writer" - Mr. George Stock, himself!!! BTW. the gunfire stain the streets line is appros, I think....when someone fires multiple bullets or guns in a street there's going to be far more than just blood stains there....it's a complete picture of what the "inappropriate usuage of gunfire in a street" would as one can say "paint the picture of "death, doom, riddled property, lives just completely ruined" by these "multiple" stains in the street.....I think I understand what George is saying there, myself.... ------------------ http://www.mp3.com/sharon_irene_wells [This message has been edited by Sharon I. Wow! James, your song My Man Jesus is sure a great tune. And so is your Goodbye song. Love your work. There's lots of versality. Who's the singer of Jesus song, she sounds so good. Wish she could sing one of my songs. Stan ------------------ Having Fun!!!! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/stanlohmusic.htm
