Been busy training for a new job that was originally waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy over my head. (Now it may only be a foot or so.) Had a parody idea strike me on the way to work this morning, so at lunch I cooked it up. God(and anyone at Pineyfest last year!)knows I`m not the skinniest fella on the planet, so I`m kinda licensed to write this`n. (And just so everyone knows...I really am very fond of Oreos...and Terri Clark!) Original lyrics to Terri Clark`s "I Just Wanna Be Mad" (Kelly Lovelace/Lee Thomas Miller) are at http://www.geocities.com/islandlyrics/terriclark/tc48.txt "I Just Wanna Be Fat"(For A While) A PARODY © DANOLYRICS(BMI) 2003 Last night we went to bed not talkin, Cause I`d already ate too much, I wasn`t full, but you still lectured, About that cake I shouldn`t touch, Been on a diet 7 weeks now, Some days it feels like ninety one, Always fighting off a craving, See some goodies and I want some, I`ve been up since 5, thinkin bout missing food, And I`ve got to tell you, the conclusion I`ve come to... I might not starve, but might still stray, My love for food will never change, But I ain't ready to work out, We'll get around to that, My will is weak, you hope I`m strong, I'll prob'ly give in before long, So please don't take my cookie pile, I just wanna be fat for a while. Well, now you might as well forget it. Hiding those Oreo`s ain`t fair. Yeah, that's right, I'm damn near starvin, No, I don't want that bunny food there, I'm gonna leave for work, without a morning snack, I`ll get my Krispy Kreme`s, tonight on my drive back... I might not starve, but might still stray, My love for food will never change, But I ain't ready to work out, We'll get around to that, My will is weak, you hope I`m strong, I'll prob'ly give in before long, So please don't take my cookie pile, I just wanna be fat for a while. I might not starve, but might still stray, My love for food will never change, But I ain't ready to work out, We'll get around to that, My will is weak, you hope I`m strong, I'll prob'ly give in before long, So please don't take my cookie pile, I just wanna be fat for a while. I just wanna be fat for a while. I just wanna be fat for a while. I just wanna be fat for a while. ------------------ www.angelfire.com/music3/danolyrics [This message has been edited by Dan windowman (edited 01-24-2003).]

Dayun, YOU ARE NOT!!!! But I still love this lyric!! I can see Cletus alllllll over this one. GREAT fun, totally relatable!! Since Ria and I are going to L.A., I've decided I can't wait till spring to begin my yearly "shedding layers diet".... But, my favorite diet food are "WOW chips".. no fat, but all of the taste! I'm glad the job is going good, you'll have to fill me in more... I kinda know about your line of biz being married to a plant manager of a manufacturing company. We can talk shop (or anything else that comes up). Take care, Cin

You know, Dan..I looked at the "I Just Wanna Be Mad" lyric for the longest time looking for a parody angle...and I couldn't come up with one. You did just that and did it well. Very funny stuff, padnah. 'please don't take my cookie pile' lol

Fun romp of a song, bro.

Dan, you and Corey are the masters! I tip my hat to you for this fine rendition. Weird Al Yankovic could do no better.
Great stuff!!

Howdy Dano!!
This is a HOOT!! I LOVE the Terri Clark song...think it is her best one ever. Haven't seen the album cover...but I am thinking that is guy stuff. I just think that song is so relateable to everyone. We have ALL been there and felt that way. But I have to say your parody here is perfect. Loved it too! Dieting can wait till after Superbowl when Dawg promised to make his world class hot wings. Mmmmmmm

Going from a CNC machinist position, to a CIM programmer is a huge step...kinda like the difference between brushing your teeth, and becoming a dentist. I just hope I haven`t killed off too many brain cells! Still got alot to learn, but I`m makin progress. I`ll definitely fill you in the next time we talk. J-Des, Thanks for stopping in J. Glad you like my anti diet lyric here. Thanks for the visit and the kind words about the lyric, me, and the new job. I hope all is well for you in Kelowna, and I hope the treatments are going well. Thanks again ladies. Dano. ------------------ www.angelfire.com/music3/danolyrics

Sharon and Pam, Sharon, Thanks for the visit and kind words. I don`t know why there isn`t more parody artists in music...but Corey and I sure could use a few more out there! Thanks again for stopping by, and take care. Hurleygirly!, Yep Pam, you picked out the rough spot singing-wise. Probably gonna change that to my Oreos, cause "those" kinda ties the tongue up. Now as far as those Krispy Kremes go...we only seem to get them through fund raisers at school, or kids soccer leagues and such. Not sure if they are really that special in the grand doughnut scheme of things...but dang they are pretty good! Thanks for peekin in Pammy. Thanks for the job well wishes too. Thanks again you two. Stan, Thanks for the look Zinbud. Glad you liked what I got cookin here. Thanks for the good job, and the good luck! Gregster, Thanks for the awesome review bro. Can`t ask for a better compliment than being mentioned with Corey and Weird Al, on lyrics and parodys! Thanks again fellers. Don't know the parent song dan but this goes along good. Had a net friend always signed off with peace and them cookies forever, and I didn't know what they were. Finally got to taste some and wasn't all that sold on them but they sure seem to have a following up there. And having one of those metabolic conversion rates where I think about what I would like for dinner, and my boddy takes in the calories, and on go the corrosponding pounds, I totally relate to this. You've captured me, Dan-o, exactly as I will be living, with minimal regrets, tomorrow in front of the TV. Check all resolutions and willpower at the door please. Coronas, cookies and tater chips. All day. It's gonna take weeks to recover my vertical view. Nice parody. The one I wanna write is to "Your Body Is A Wonderland" by John Mayer. I've been thinking on "Your Booty Is, Oooh, So Grand". It will be totally without any redeeming social value. Ya think?

Hey Dan...you are the man! This is really cool! Think I'd rather be fat than mad anyway. Wait a second, I'm already fat (lol), so I guess I have no choice!! Nice to read your work again. You've got great talent!! ------------------ My music: www.soundclick.com/bands/timkeesee_music.htm

Hey Dans, did you have me and Pete in mind when you wrote this one...LOL Me, I'd love to be fat for a while - but then get skinny for a longer while... haven't worked out how to do it yet but I'm trying real hard at the moment. My son gets married in March and the dress I bought to wear a month or so ago seems to have shrunk when I tried it on the other night. Anyway, I honestly don't know what you people see in Oreos, they've just started selling them down here and they're always in the bargain bin 'cause they've passed the use by date. Hope all's well with you and good luck with the new job. Lots of love from Aunty Judes

Bobbie, Graham, Michael, and Tony, Bobbie, Yeah...spose that Terri Clark cover IS kinda a guy thing. I like all of Terri`s stuff, but I do agree, this is probably her best single yet. (Though "Easy On The Eyes", and "Better Things To Do" were pretty doggone good in my book.) Thanks for stopping in and snackin with me! Graham, Thanks for checkin in cobber. Them Oreos are the favorite cookie of alot of kids...I guess I never grew up. With a big glass of cold milk, this kid still can eat a few. Sure is hard to keep the waist in check around em though! Michael, Thanks for visiting this one, RAIDER buddy. Hope that vertical view is on the mend! Having cookies and chips and beer seemed to make that rancid crow meat we had to eat just a tad less repulsive huh! Hope you write that parody, it sounds like a good one. Social redemption? Aww hell, that`s just an "extrasise in fumility"...er sumptin like dat. Tony, Thanks for the look, and the great comments bud! Heck yeah...any hotwiring you can do is always appreciated!! Thanks again friends! Dano. ------------------ www.angelfire.com/music3/danolyrics

Sorry folks, I`ve been busy being sick for a day or two, or I`d have gotten to this sooner! Joanne, Tim, and Judy, Joanne, Thanks for stopping in and offering the kind words. Yeah, I spend an inordinate amount of time laughing at myself! (Not sure whether that`s really good or not!) Tim, Thanks for the visit stranger! Good to see you back on the board. Glad you liked this parody...although great talent isn`t what I`m most full of. JUDES!!, Hiya Favourite Aussie Aunty! Thanks for sneakin in Judes. I can totally relate about the shrinking clothes problem! It`s a conspiracy! Good luck in making your goal by the wedding...and congrats to you and Pete, and your son, on the wedding! You sure are lucky you don`t like those Oreos...they`re no dang good for weight loss! You and Pete take care. Good seeing ya again Judes! Dans. Thanks again friends. Well Dano if you saw me then you'd feel small. I had a real good laugh over this one and love the parallel. I walk past a bakery and the smell puts on a few pounds for me. My wife eats and I get fat and then she lectures me about it. But I've got myself convinced that I'm a cute old guy because the fat pushes the wrinkles out and makes me look younger.
Now really which would you rather be, fat young, or skinny old looking?
I love this one bro plump!
Eric
