HELLO CLEVELAND!!!! (sorry, the Spinal Tap in me just kicked in), My name is davey O., I am a singer/songwriter from Buffalo, NY. I am currently booking myself regionally throughout WNY and parts of Pennsylvania in support of my two CD releases. My other guitarist and I play as an acoustic duo mainly at coffeehouses, and I do solo shows opening for bands at clubs. I am looking for coffeehouses to perform at in the Cleveland area. Any info would be greatly appreciated and can be emailed to me at davey3o@cs.com Thanks. davey O. davey O. music (ASCAP) http://daveyomusic.freehosting.net www.cdbaby.com/daveyo1 www.cdbaby.com/daveyo2

If your music is not offensive to those of the Christian persuasion, you can try to book at the Eagle's Nest (216-741-5095) in Cleveland proper (across from Deaconess Hospital, 4276 Pearl Rd.) or at Seekers Coffee House ( www.seekerscoffeehouse.com) in Middleburg Hts. (about 1/2 hr. SW of downtown Cleveland). The Nest really is a Christian outreach spot; Seekers is a Christian venue as well but is open to non-offensive secular music (bands and soloists, from folk to jazz). Don't know about payment issues...you'll have to work out that question on your own. Good luck! Let us know if/when you'll be playing in the area. (My band will be at the Nest on Friday, Nov. 8, 8:30 & 10 p.m.--FREE admission!) ------------------ www.mp3.com/dianatyler [This message has been edited by Diana Tyler (edited 09-29-2002).]

Thanks for the info Diana!!! My music is pretty much straight forward storytelling kind of stuff. So, I don't think it will offend. davey O.

Hi Davey If you are just looking to play in this area, you could stop by any Monday at Hi Fi Club and Grille at 11729 Detroit Avenue on the Cleveland/Lakewood Border for Open Mic which I host. The Barking Spider is a good place http://www.barkingspidertavern.com I believe. It is a very well known place for storytellers and folk music. they have house sound and there is no cover charge to come in. It is kind of hard to get in there and it is not a huge pay unless you draw a huge crowd (Tips). There are many other venues, it just depends on what your most important goal is. (i.e. money, built in crowd, networking, promotion etc.) Each place offers one or the other, but it's hard to get everything in one venue? ;0)

Hey, Thanks for the info...I'll have to check into it. A co-worker of mine has actually played at The Barking Spider with a band called Red Headed Stepchild and he gave it the thumbs up! Thanks, davey O.

Cool! Let us know when you will be in town. I will be playing at The Barking Spider with Cherylann Hawk on Monday Nov 25th. I have had that date for almost 1 year! He books very far in advance. Arabica on Juniper would also be a good place to seek out... It is right in front of the Barking Spider.
