This tune is called Coming Back... It was written by Ulli while she was living/working/writing in Nashville.... Here's a link...... it's at Soundclick...... It was a folky type song but, the boys in the band sort of stepped it up a bit tempo wise... Bryan on Drums....he is a good drummer...I miss playing with him... Jayson on bass....this dude can smoke on his 5 string.... Me on all the guitars.... Ulli sings.... recorded partially in my cousin's studio...thus...part of the "Worcester Project" and the rest here at home... This is my first serious attempt at lead guitar...so...tear away..... my ears are shot....I have permanent damage in both ears.....I think it's mostly from playing in the band......my own fault too...I knew the hazard and ignored it..... and they say it will never get better...just worsen... Now I know how Beethoven felt.... anyways...I hope I didn't butcher the mix too bad.... Ulli sure can belt and she shows us exactly how it's done on this one... Oh yeah...she hasn't heard this one yet either.... Thanks for all comments ahead of time... Be cool, Joe

Joro--Hey man, I have always liked your sound. The gal singing is very good. You may laugh but I believe she would make a really good country singer. She reminds me of Jennifer Nettles lead singer with Sugarland. You can check her out she is currently singing on Bon Jovi's "Who Said You Can't Come Home" You have a great sound to me. Musically very good, also. Sorry about the hearing thing. terribob ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bpficklen

Ulli's got a nice voice, that bassist is good.

That vocal is haunting, great performance!!! I miss some punch though, the band is well played. The vocal has to keep back because the band itself has not the nerve to push. Overcome the treshold and let it rip!!!! Keep up the good work!!! All the best Jan Petter PS.Wow I write in morse language

Hey Joe:
Cool song! Started off like one of those '70's female singer/songwriter tunes and then that guitar hit and I moved back a decade to the Doors.
Mix sounded fine to me.

Hey Joe! How ya doing man? I think someone slipped something in my Pepsi! That lead put me in space,,,,,again! The song: Respectfully, I feel the chord progression is a very much used one. I would like to hear some creative changes in there somewhere. For me, the three chords over and over in those spots made all the playing sound more beginner than what you all are. The snare is more muffled than I would like to hear in this. Maybe some stereo enhancement would be cool too. ???? Sorry I didn't love it Joe! I want to,,,,if that counts! Missed you around here lately, John [This message has been edited by dhsongs (edited 04-30-2006).]

Hi Terribob, Ulli is the writer and the singer and she says "Thanks!" so do I dude...
Hey Louis...Thanks man...:-)
Hi Jan, I will probably do one more mix with a new lead guitar track....once I find a place and time to mic my Mesa Boogie... I think that might help with the punch. Thanks for checking out the tune!
Hi Scott... Come on man....I may be deaf but there has to be something wrong with the mix to your ears....but, thanks for checking out the tune man..I really appreciate it....
John, My friend John... How goes man? You have been one of my mentors over the years and you have always given me sound in depth reviews and great advice. This in a real good example of that...
but......
There are other tunes out there that are D...C... and G??
go figure... :-)
I'll bump up the mids and highs for the snare when I get to re-track remix man...THanks!
I miss being around too John but, The new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu but, it was sure nice talkin' with you John...it was sure nice talkin' with you....
be cool man. Thanks again everybody, Joe :-)

You are really something! Don't ever change.
Ok,,,,rebutal: "but......There are other tunes out there that are D...C... and G??"
Exactly!!!!! Sooooo many others!
Maybe throw a little twist in there. Something to make it new, make it YOU! It's in ya!. I know it...When you see yourself going for the usual chords,,,,,,force yourself to go where a only a few have gone, maybe none that you or I heard. Just even an augmented or diminished or a 9th, (not just those),,,,if just for one beat, or a hint of something else, to go along with the usual.
For example, you could even add something to what is alrwady there, (of you have another track), for just two an F chords, (one low bar position and one high bar position) to be added right before the G, then the high one right before gong back to the D. (The first F sliding up to the G, and the high F bar sliding down to the D). One chord,,,,two effects. Just that added to it would bring a more dramatic and maybe interesting sound to the three chord pattern, without changing it. Just one of them might sound like something familiar, but i think with both F's, it could be fresher. ??? The second F could be played with one hard strum with a faint slide to two D quick strums.
Play along with it, (humor me,,,,again), with that and see how it sounds to you.
John

Hard to believe this was originally a folk tune; nice job turning it into a rock-out tune. Love the vocals and guitars (and the acoustic guitar intro). Great job. ------------------ Clint http://www.soundclick.com/clintanglin

John, That is (as always) great advice. I will give it a try if Ulli is willing...it's her song...she wrote the whole kit and Kaboodle so, I will work something out with that F and see how she runs.. Thanks man! ;-)
Hi Clint... I think if you just adjust the tempoi and the "attitude" of any tune...you can bring it into just about any genre. Thanks for the kudos man. Be cool and thanks again everyone, Joe

Joro, Good songwrite & production... nice mix! Love the guitar work & excellent vocals too man! Wow, this tune rocks pretty good... great classic "organic" style rock flavor. Keep 'em coming pal!
