Hi everyone...this was an old lyric that actually came with partial melody idea..you woulda laughed seeing me play the keyboard one finger at a time over the phone to Brock to give him an idea...lol but I think he handled it well -didn't make too much fun of me and turned this into a pretty little tune...please let us know what you think! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/6/pamhurleymusic.htm DATE WITH DESTINY ©2002 Pam Hurley/Brock Goodwin Verse 1: Hey there girl it’s been awhile I sure would love to see your smile Got something on my mind that I can’t ignore Would ya meet me for some pool Take one chance on this ole’ fool I was hoping that you haven’t closed the door Chorus: For a date with destiny Forever’s calling you and me For a date with destiny Close to you is where I need to be You always said it felt like fate Darlin’ say I’m not too late For a date with destiny Verse 2: You we’re right and I was wrong I pulled away when I should’ve been strong Now I realize I made a huge mistake I was afraid if we got too close We would lose what I treasured most This time Darlin’ I won’t hestitate Chorus: For a date with destiny Forever’s calling you and me For a date with destiny Close to you is where I need to be You always said it felt like fate Darlin’ say I’m not too late For a date with destiny ------------------

Pam,
Two words--LOVE it! I think it would benefit from a repeat of the chorus one more time (just felt like it ended too quick for me), but other than that, I thought this was fabulous. You're obviously gifted musically as well as lyrically, I loved the melody. Very catchy.

Hello Pam Ditto. Just love this. Only nit is the lead Guitar which sounds a little off tune to me (Could be my Ears LOL). But that can't hide one heck of a lovely song. Thanks, Gerry ------------------ http://www.ampcast.com/Gerry [This message has been edited by Gerry (edited 04-30-2003).]

Hi Nat, Thanks for listening. We were debating a bridge and return to the chorus but thought it might get too long timewise at that point besides we didn't really have much more to say in a bridge....but will keep that option open...since this is still wet. Well, I'd love to take the praise on the music but really that was Brock..I just played him the beginning of my idea then he started playing and went with it. Appreciate hearing from you! Pam

Yeah Pam, this is right in the pocket. The lyrics and music fit together beautifully. It develops nicely. This is the kind of thing a lot of people could cut. Get it out there. Mike ------------------ Mike Dunbar Music

Hey Gerry, Thanks for listening I can't really comment about the guitar on key/off key thing...cuz I don't get a great connection with low fi but I'll mention that to Brock....glad you enjoyed this one! Pam

Hi, Pammie!
I thought the melody was very pretty and bits of it stuck in my mind, which to me is the sign of a good melody.
Won't comment on the production because this strikes me as still a work in progress. I enjoyed Brock's voice very much though.
The only thing that kind of throws me is the pool line. To me it doesn't fit in with the rest of the lyrics. Was thinking that something ending in rule or through or something like that would blend in better. Maybe it's just me though.
I enjoyed the listen and I think it's terrific to see your hidden talent as a composer emerging. Congratulations!

Let me make this a group note...to Kaley,Mike D., Mike and Jean: We really appreciate all the feedback and ideas from you all and the encouragement...but rightfully so the music here was Brock...I only started the flow for him...on this particular song hopefully if I get the time I'll try that again. Keep your ears open people though because he's going places! Pam

Hi Pam, I finally got soundclick to work for this... It sounds great. Is that you singing? I feel like the chorus went on a little to long. The last three lines sounded like a great bridge. It would be easy enough to fix... For a date with destiny Forever’s calling you and meDarlin' where I need to beIs close to you for a date with destiny...or something along those lines. For your bridge... You always said it felt like fate Darlin’ say I’m not too lateGood job! Kurt ------------------ http://kurtfortmeyer.home.att.net
