Yowzers - I wish I could get a pro sound like that. Beautiful and powerful! Sue, are you doing both vocals? You sure have an expressive voice.
Did you solve your computer woes? Did you record your vocals on your system?

Thanks Clint.. Sue [This message has been edited by laineytunes@yahoo.com (edited 11-01-2006).]

Hey Sue: Guess you know I like this one. Really nice job on the demo - shows off you can do country too! Great vocal and the music is working too - this one seems ready to go to me. Scott

Thanks Scott, it's Country for sure... Really fun song to work on...enjoyed putting in all the twists & turns vocally..and Dale really lets the vocalist have creative input which is very cool . Sue www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey

Wow, 6 or 7 harmony tracks - that's amazing. They all fit together so seamlessly and smoothly. You really have to replace all of your equipment, including mics, mixer, computer and all? I'd be so bummed . Clint

Sounds like it ought to be on the radio to me.

Thanks Accel, Rebecca & Keith have a talent for writing "up" songs..and the high energy playing is a big plus too... Clint, all I'm replacing is the software, and the interface/ the new stuff comes with all that but has to be compatible..Most of the problems were internal drivers, and with adapters I wont need anymore. The real bummer is not being able to record when you want, but hopefully, (cross my fingers and my toes ) The harmonies you only hear at the most 5 at one time here and there, when 3 parts cross over 2 part harmonies, but it's not like you hear 6 or 7 all at the same time... Hi Louis, who knows , someone might redo it for radio.... www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey

Sue-- "She's gone country, look at them boots" (Brooks and Dunn)... ....You have a great voice and I've said that before....This version with you singing is good....Me I hear a little uncomfortableness(if there is such a word) in you singing this...you can tell me I'm wrong....no sweat...we're friends...It's still good...that little twang thing isn't there...my wife is a southern gal...I'm used to hearing the southern twang...I still here a little "Pack the car in the garage" thing(Boston twang)....in a spot or two...where you said "arms" at the 1:22 mark....nit picking.. ..lol As far as a female version for a demo...great...Please don't take this wrong...like I said it is still a top notch vocal...And I may be the only one who hears or says this.... I will tell you I write some country stuff and I had two of them demoed in Nashville because of my vocal...not country enough...your way closer than me... .... Anyway I'm going on and on....have a good day....Bob

Hey there Tbob, Nah (or Naw LOL)No offense ever taken here.. I sort of have the New Beige (what they call a New Bedford drawl )with a touch of Maine, ayuh, ovuh heeah.. Well, you know it's actually a pleasant surprise to hear that, as for thirty something years I've been told I'm too country..First started out very much so, with Kitty Wells, Loretta type then Emmylou, Linda , onto Maria Muldaur, Poco,Eagles, Karla Bonoff, Lacy J, Trisha, Martina type Country....I never thought Shania sounded Country at all,,,It's very verstatile I think ,my solo performing started as very folk based, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, and I could never put Country music in a box , cuz there is so much of it's influence in every genre...But I never try to force a Southern drawl or anything, just wouldn't be me...But I love singing Country, with me think you're gonna get a mixed bag...whatever that is...By now I'm hopin it just kinda sounds a little bit like me ..., I truly value your opinion and suggestions...Now me , I detect a bit O country in your voice...but that's comin from a Southern New England Gal...Hell we all got a little bit o country by now cant help it....except Sub Ha , but was that some Slide I heard him playin in my last song? Thanks again Tbob.....Sue www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey [This message has been edited by laineytunes@yahoo.com (edited 11-02-2006).]

Sue-- Hey...I listened to this twice...it's very good...It certainly could fly as is...and I agree with your response...
I've been in the south for almost 30 years...and to most people here ...I still sound like a "yankee" but they are not sure where I'm from ...but now if I go North they all say I'm sounding southern....I just visited my sister in NJ...she sounded different to me...real Northern...My wife of course sounds very southern (Georgia born) to them up North....
I'm gonna post a song I had demeod in Nashville and my version...I have to say I like mine better....but they are totally different....mostly because of the vocal...and music...
I had two done...I had already posted the one "Along With Me"...I always felt that would make a good country song...This other one also..."Who Said A man Ain't Supposed To Cry"....
Anyway take care...t-bob

"Alors! I have missed one!" Shows me to skip away from the boards for a few days! Sue, this is REALLY great! Country isn't my favorite really... but... I LIKE this song a whole lot. Nice and upbeat and happy--good write. And Sue, your voice and harmonies are terrific interpretation! Love it, good stuff, great package!! Congratulations! yes, this one's in the corner pocket Sue. Good one - nice changes, lyric, (gtr solo) heehee , harmonies, feel. As was said above - I too am unsure about country music - not overly familiar with the finer details and sub genres - but this sure sounds and feels good! (IMHO) Country music is unfortunately understated here in Oz - BUT we have a city called Tamworth that has a HUGE country festival once a year. You should get yourself over here for that one and play up a storm! Take care ------------------ "I'll see you on the other side - 'cause no-one gets out alive..." Well Ms Linda, welcome back, thought you got abducted by aliens Thanks for listening and all the up notes...Sue Hi Eliot, are you invitin me to the Blue Mts of Oz ? Cant say as I could find my way..How many hours on a plane would that be? Ha Ha....I sing a lot of country crossover in my band, write a lot too.. The fine points in Country to me are purely feeling, which probably covers most music I guess....So I think just the title Baby It Feels Good appealed to me right off and everyone likes to Feel Good.... I know I do...Thanks , like to hear more about the Country Fest though sounds like FUN...Sue Tbob, Probably just made you feel so good you forgot ...Startin to get butterflies, thinkin about the Florida Jam, gotta do some catalogue browsing on you guys., and we should pick a few songs of each others..I hope to have some new stuff posted next few weeks too...Thanks Tom...Sue www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey

Hey Sue, Man you sure are versatile, great vocals as usual. There is some distortion in this trac which is distracting from the song, me thinks it got a little overcooked.....um it's the vocal lines. Nice enough song, memorable hook, was thinking some of the vocal phrasing in the verses just doesn't sit right......meter wise, but the chorus both in and out works well. The vocal inflection works well, the dynamics are missing a little, I think it is the musical backing which is missing the oomph more than the vocal line. Mind you I'm not a trad country guy, so please disregard said comments where appropriate. cheers, niteshift

Hi There Niteshift, Think you're right and it's far more obvious on Soundclick. Gonna have to go back and "tweak" that for sure, on a good day it was hurtin my ears through the headphones Yeeoww!! I have a lot of influence to draw from in my head , so to speak..being exposed to many different genres of music at a very young age and I owe that to my Dad especially , and many other members of my family . So I thank you for the "versatility" comments. May be the word "serious" in the lyric you're hearin . Tough one.. The Majic Shack who did the original backing for the male vocalist did all instrumentation so I had no control except for vocals of course..and will get to fixin that level issue soon...Thanks again for bringin it to the light Night, Sue www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey

Eliot, wow that is very generous of you to offer to put me up in your home . I'm grateful just for that incredibly kind jesture..If it was at a different time of year , I'd seriously look into it. But thats the month we start gearing up to go to Florida. Would be $$ impossible. I did for the first time in my life actually get on the airplane last year and fly to and from. So I'm facing all my fears one by one. ..And will have to find a way to hook up when you & Gillian come to the States. 18 Hours? Wooah. Sue www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey

Sure wish I could've read the lyrics while listening. I sure like that hook. Sue, I honestly think it'd work better without the harmonies. I don't know why but I just do. Nothing against them at all. You sound great. But, for some reason my gut just says belt this sucker out.....just you, yourself.....and you. Tamworth is the biggest Country music festival in Australia. I'd LOVE to go see how the Aussies do it up. They have these 1/2 car 1/2 truck things-they're 4 wheel drive vehicles. Anyway, they have a special name that escapes me at the moment but it's big over there-or was. Back when I studied the country music trends over there, I was up on all the country stars. I think that was back around the time I actually fell in love with Keith Urban-sorry, Nicole, I drooled over him first. Anyway, you should go. Tamworth is a small town and it's hotter than the 4th of July in January. If my ship ever comes in, I'm going!! Save me a sofa, Gillian and Eliot! Oh, and Sue, you have to learn Slim Dusty's song A Pub With No Beer. ------------------ "Experience teaches us that silence terrifies people the most."~~Bob Dylan www.giddygirlmusicpublishing.com [This message has been edited by TriciaBaker (edited 11-10-2006).]

Sue,
It looks like all the pieces were well put together on this one. It really sounds professional--like it could be playing on CMT. I really enjoyed your voice and the harmonies, though, they may not have been needed in all the places you have them. Enough said--great work on this one! Keep 'em coming! Rick.

Utes yes that's them! Funny about drooling about Keith Urban...well if I was female it might make sense! Tricia yep - you have a couch here anytime And yes - definitely learn "A Pub With No Beer" - cool tune and classic here in Oz...no beer in a pub - unthinkable, unbelievable, outrageous and down right un - Australian If anyone here does come here have a read of Bill Bryson's "Down Under" before you come - he has a very accurate view of Australia - he mentions Ozzies being laid back and notes "how could a country simply "lose" a prime minister!?" - it happened...serious but you can see the funny side of it - imagine "losing" the President!? "Ah, he went for a swim in the ocean , but can't be sure, he left a half finished beer on the beach... maybe the Russians stole him in a Submarine...? - that would explain it..." scratch head here... ------------------ "I'll see you on the other side - 'cause no-one gets out alive..." Baby It Sounds Good. This is a great uptempo fun feel good (pun intended) kind of song. I like it! Only nit was maybe too many harmonies throughout maybe just cut down alittle there, that's all. Love the chorus!

This is a great jogb by everyone involved.. hey folks see why I have Sue on my soundclick for session services.. for her wonderful voice, spirit and caring attitude.. She knocked out a song for me in an emergency situation recently.. she didn't have 12 hours with the song and nailed the whole darn thing even out of her comfort key range.. Hey there Tricia, Don't worry, it's just brain overload.. OK you too Eliot the Slim Dusty song. I already know it, sing it for St Patricks Day parties and per request...My day job, providing music programs for numerous health facilities in Southern New England, consists of coming up with special theme performances...So that 's how I came across it. "But there's nothing so lonesome , so morbid or drear As to stand at the bar of a Pub With No Beer!!!!!" That Country Fest sounds like a blast!! Thanks Rick, for the listen Thanks Lynn, Ok this is also in part a response to Rick, and Tricia too..This was a demo. It was originally written for a male vocal..So I took it on as a challenge even though it was not really in my key and made it work through harmonies..If you listen to the melody line you'll hear that theres no way I could really belt it out without totally reinventing the vocal.,which would be really cool..but wouldnt sound like their song...They like a lot of harmony too.May have been a little selfish on my part cuz I really liked the song a lot, but it's not always possible for writers who collab to afford a whole redo production for the sake of key changing.. Now when someone writes a song for a female vocalist to sing that's another story. As they really should at least run it by someone with a vocal range similar to that of the singer they want to use or pitch to. That would be very helpful.. Thanks Eliot on the guitar compliments , but they have to go to the players at The Majicshack. I think it was Jason Roller did the guitar...oh and I'll have to get that book too.. Here's a special thanks to TB b!!!! Ssshhhhh don't tell Tom Hey Sub, looking back now that was kind of fun...I seem to work better under pressure Thanks for thinking of me. Sorry I missed your call, I did get your e-mail Sure hope you're feeling better soon. We need you here big time And thanks for all the support and encouraging words...When you were trying to call me I may have been yakking away & didnt recognize your # on caller ID and Mike never even looks at that ever, so I can maybe blame that on him I'm here today if you wanna call, but you best take care of yourself and get well...Cant wait to do some music together...I hope to be jump started by this week, thanks again Sub..Oh and I am honored to be on that page Sue www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey [This message has been edited by laineytunes@yahoo.com (edited 11-12-2006).] [This message has been edited by laineytunes@yahoo.com (edited 11-12-2006).]

Hey Hey Mike be nice to Uncle Steve I can only take credit for singing this one as a demo. A great song written by Rebecca Dale Peaden and Keith Marchetti, super playing done at The Majic Shack in Nashville. Thanks so much for listening. Sue www.soundclick.com/susanlainey www.cdbaby.com/susanlainey
