Nashville Cowboy Church is a live radio program, broadcast every Sunday from the Ernest Tubb Theater on Music Valley Drive near the Opryland Hotel. It's a fast-paced, uplifting show as well as a real church service that is hosted by Dr. Harry Yates and his wife Joanne Cash Yates, sister of superstar Johnny Cash. Guests include stars of the Grand Ole Opry as well as some of the biggest names in Country, Christian Country and Gospel music. The music is provided by the Nashville Cowboy Church Band, an eight-piece band who donates their time, and the O. K. Chorale, back-up singers. It's a non-denominational service open to all. There's no dress code, but expect a lot of cowboy hats and boots. There is no charge, but a donation is appreciated. Nashville Cowboy Church is broadcast on WSM radio, XM radio, Sirius radio and World Wide Country Radio on shortwave, making it the largest country/gospel radio broadcast ever. This is a lot of uplifting fun as well as a serious service. I've been blessed to be the founding bass player for Cowboy Church, and currently share this spot with Ty Campbell as our schedules permit. If you're in the area, we'd love to see you there. Thanks for the reply, Emily. Yes, it's really something. You can hear it on the net too, just go through the Nashville Cowboy Church website and search around. We had a good one today. All the Best, Mike ------------------ You have to practice improvisation. -Art Tatum Mike Dunbar Music

Hi Mike- I was in Nashville just this last weekend. Stayed at the Countryside Inn- up the road on Music Valley Drive. I've been looking for a hip church to go to when I'm in town. This is, a blessing. I'll let ya know the next time I'm coming up. Now if I can get up and going before 10:00- ha, ha! I have a saying on my business card; call around noon. I'm looking forward to attending the service. Sounds very cool, and uplifting. Cal P.S. Can I bring my horse? http://www.soundclick.com/calskomski [This message has been edited by Cal (edited 03-28-2006).]

Mike-
I can't tell you how glad I am that you posted this. I've been in Nashville for a few years now and I have heard rumors now and then about the Cowboy Church, but I never knew where they met or when. I had started to wonder if it even existed. I thought maybe someone was pulling my leg like the time they told me about the swimming pool on the roof of my high school. I definately plan on coming out and worshipping with you guys soon.
By the way, did the church ever meet out in Goodlettsville? It seems like I remember passing by a place with a similar name a couple of years ago while giving someone a ride home. I can't even remember what road it was on now.
Chuck

Hey Mike, that bass player you mentioned in the start of this post, Ty Campbell. Is that the same Ty Campbell from Ohio? If so do me a HUGE favor and tell him Keith says hello. It's good to know he's still strumming after all these years. Keith,

Hi Keith,
That's Ty Campbell, alright. I'll say hi for you.
