Hi all, Let it never be said that I don't ask for what I want or that I am not honest about what my intentions are. I am here in the L..A. plying my trade as a composer and sound designer for film and games. All the work I am going after have long pipelines and long timelines and a lot of my future clients won't need me to next year. That is awesome for next but that is long term income and I need to make some money now. Any ideas of how to approach this. What I bring to the table is: 1. A full project studio with everything you could ever want or use to record and make music and sounds. 2. My production skills 3. My recording and engineering skills 4. My arranging and orchestration skills 5. My skills as a guitarist, keyboardist, saxophonist, bass player and percussion 6. My remixing skills 7. My vocal skills as a operatically trained vocalist and voice actor 8. My skills as a voice and music teacher 9. My 20 years of playing live and performing 10. My knowledge of all aspects of the music industry 11. My marketing skills 12. My writing skills 13. My organization and seminar skils 14. My web design and developent skills 15. I am nice guy and love to nurture talent. Gosh. I do go on, Don't I. I hope I am not out of line here. I am just frustrated and with the holidays coming up I want to fly my kids out and buy nice presents and my cash flow is pretty low. No one's replied, so I'll put my 2 cents in. Consider hanging out your shingle as a voice teacher/VO instructor, as this seems to always be in demand in L.A. ------------------ Later, Pat

Thanks Pat, I have thought of that. What is the best place to advertise and/or find students? I have considered craigslist.com Keith ------------------ -- Kamakaze Music Keith Kehrer Composer, Producer, Recording Engineer, Sound Designer 505-553-8355 kkehrer@msn.com http://kamakazemusic.com http://kamakazemusic.com/music/

Not a bad idea. Also see if you can spring for an ad in Music Connection magazine. And then there's always posting flyers in local music stores. ------------------ Later, Pat [This message has been edited by Patrick Bryant (edited 11-05-2005).]

I'll check into Music Connection. I have a microscopic advertising budget. Keith ------------------ -- Kamakaze Music Keith Kehrer Composer, Producer, Recording Engineer, Sound Designer 505-553-8355 kkehrer@msn.com http://kamakazemusic.com http://kamakazemusic.com/music/

Keith ~ it might be too late now, but alot of singers do the Christmas Caroling thing. Unfortunately the one group I had connections with is having a slow year this year. Also, years ago, I used to pick up work at www.MusiciansContact.com - it's a subscription based service. Do you have a vocal demo online? Do you sight-sing? As a musician, can you read down charts ~ as a pianist, guitarist, percussionist, etc.? At least if I have this info, I could refer you for any last minute things I might hear of. Last thing I can think of is if you want to offer a special discounted demo rate for production work in your studio ~ I could possibly promote it to our members to help you out. Are all the clips on your website representative of your current recording studio? We just want to be sure that they can hear exactly what you are able to produce. I'll keep positive thoughts going for you & trust the work and/or money will flow right on time for you! Faith www.faithrivera.com
