I have been writing lyrics for years because writing has always been a passion of mine. I just recently thought it would be a good idea to sell some of my work. However, I have no clue how to go about this.
I also have never had my work copyrighted and I have no idea if I should do that first and how to go about doing that...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

File for the copyrights BEFORE you send the songs TO ANYONE. You can find the forms for the copyright registration at the Library of Congress website. Hint - instead of registering each copyright separately to begin with, put a bunch of songs on one tape or CD, give the tape a title (e/g/ The Songs of Amy Hubbard Volume One") and send it in with one registration fee. That protects everything on the album.
