I am a new member. Is there a mentoring process here? That is, can we submit material to any of the mentors for evaluation?

dspence,
You can ask questions which are answered here so that everyone can learn from the answer (and also offer additional perspective/experience and info). Some of our mentor staff offer one on one feedback on material, but they do that separate of their work with us and generally as a paid service. Some of these folks include Jason Blume, John Braheny, Pete and Pat Lubboff, Jai Josefs, Harriet Schock etc. In addition, you can get lots of songwriting feedback and educational support from Danny Arena and Sara Light via their SongU.com site. That is also fee based, but offers a university like learning program for songwriters. Beyond that, you can post links to song files on our MP3 feedback board and get peer feedback for free that is often helpful. Same goes for lyric feedback. Those boards are just below this one on the message boards. Many folks have gotten a lot of help from that process.
Thanks for the question,
Brian
